I have created a <acronym title="Visual Basic">VB</acronym>.NET project that includes WebBrowser control. The web browser control navigates to html page that embedes a flash movie. Everything works fine except that when I want to exit the fullscreen mode of the video by pressing (Esc) key, it doesn't exit. If I view the html page with any other browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, ...) it works perfectly. You can download the project from the link below. The files are in the Debug folder.

I have a dialog that gets called from time to time. It is only created once, and then shown or hidden. Depending on the current conditions, when I display it, I need to disable the controls on it so that the user does not make any changes.I have code that checks the condition and sets the enabled property to false for the controls. There is a DataGridView control on the dialog, and for some reason, it stays enabled and allows changes. Does anyone know why, or what I need to do to get it to not accept any input?
View 4 RepliesIn .net 3.5 windows forms I have a listview with "CheckBoxes" = true. Is it possible to dim out or disable some items to prevent the user from checking the box?
View 3 RepliesI have been googling for hours and trying to figure this out, and I just can't.I have 1 webbrowser control on a form, webbrowser1. Once I load a page, say google.com, if I use webbrowser1.refresh() or webbrowser1.navigate("google.com"), it's not reloading the page, it has it cached so it's just reloading the cache. This is terribly apparent especially on pages like forums or craigslist.
View 6 RepliesI creating a dice game with VB 2008 and am having some problems with control features. When the game starts I'd like the controls to be disable until the user formally selects a NewGameButton. Also, during the game the user gets 3 chances to roll the dice before they select a check box for the type of score they want. They cans select a score at any time during the 3 rolls. I disable the selected score with an AcceptScoreButton, but I can't figure out how to limit there score selection to 1 checkbox per roll session. Then when all the score have been selected I need to diable all controls againg untile the user selects the NewGameButton I am using VB Express 2008Vista Home Premium32 BIThp pavillion a6666tintel core duo e8400 @3.00 Ghz3GB RAM
View 2 RepliesI had a form (says form A)with control on it, 2 buttons with text "View Process Flow"(Button1) and "Manual trigger Process"(Button2). Both button will load and shows Form A in Panel1 in Form1, but button1 will let user to see the action but block them on clicking on it, button2 will let User see and clickon the control.
In other software, I can use a transparency button or form block User by acess formA(so, they can see,but not click), But VB2008 transparentcy option kind of idiot(Or i dont know how to use it?)seem it just change the control back color to parent's backcolor(totaly useless, and the "tranparen key" as well)
I cant disable control cause it will stop the animation, only ways i can think off is add in a IF statement in every button, so it will do nothing when viewing = true.
I have my numeric up and down control set up but there is one problem. When i run the application, there is an IBeam in the value box. I have got my alphabet and arrow keys mapped to other things so when i press them windows makes the annoying beep noise. How can i get rid of the IBeam from this control permanently? I have tried the read only setting but the beam is still there.

For example, the SelectionChanged event on a combobox might be used to update a display every time the user changes the combobox... but while I'm filling the combobox with values, I don't want the SelectionChanged event to be firing over and over... I need to disable events while the combobox is being populated. How do I do this?

View 5 RepliesIs there a way to set the enabled property of a combo box using the tab index?
In my program I have two combo boxes next to eachother. When a certain option is selected in the first combo box, I want the second to enable itself. Obviously this is easy to do by using combobox2.enabled = true but I have 10 rows of boxes that need to do this and I want to put all the functionality into one sub. It's possible to read the tabindex into a variable by using VAR = sender.tabindex and then add 10 to that variable (The box that needs to be enabled will always have a tab index of sender + 10) but I can't figure out how I'd use the tab index to enable it. If only I could just type sender.tabindex(+10).enabled = true
Is it possible to disable image loading on the webBrowser control? - So that pages load faster. I just want the HTML of the page to work with in my code - I don't wish for the page to be displayed. And I know that using httpwebrequest or webclient would normally be the best option for this kind of thing but I need to browse secure https pages and I don't know if that's possible with anything other than the webBrowser control.
View 21 RepliesI have a VB form that contains controls for interfacing with some hardware (video cameras, motors, etc) on the machine it is to be deployed on, but I'm usually not at the location of said machine (it's a 3-hour drive away). I'm trying to work on the project while on my laptop, but obviously the controls will generate all sorts of errors since they can't talk to the hardware.
I was thinking of replacing the control types with my own mock control classes, then use #if directives to control whether I'm building for the real machine or my test machine. Problem is, some of the affected code is in the form designer-generated code section; the form designer automatically tries to "correct" my changes, so I'd have to manually put them back all the time, and try to remember not to commit the form designer's edits into version control.
As far as I know, there is no way to grey out/disable specific items in the ListBox control? I want to make a list of surveys that need to be answered, but grey out/disable those that the user has already answered.Or is there some way to do it with ListBox?
View 1 RepliesI have created a DLL that contains basic functions used in my projects. With the DLL I:Compiled it as a Release Moved the .dll file to another folder Deleted the .pdb files in the binRelease folder When I add the reference of this DLL to my projects and I debug my code, I step through line-by-line and when it comes to a function from my DLL, it actually opens up the source files of my DLL and debugs line-by-line in the DLL source code.
This is REALLY annoying for my purposes and I have tried many things now to disable the debugger stepping into my DLL code. I did a text search in the DLL file and found it stores the path of the project folder.
So far the only thing that's worked is moving/renaming the folder where the DLL project source files are. But everytime I re-build the DLL, once again I would have to move/rename the folder again as it's updated the location of the source.
I have a usercontrol that contains a datagridview and a toolstrip. When creating a windows form that contains 2 of the mentioned usercontrol i gate for example c1 and c2 where both contains for sure the datagridview and the toolstrip hving the same control name for example G and t. in my case i want to apply the security on each form, i do this by reading the access of each control inside the windows form and if the control on the form was a user control then i dont consider it as one entity instead but as a grid alone and a toolstrip alone in order to be able to apply its security accordingly. but in ma case, if i want to disable the first grid and enable the 2nd i wont be able to do so since both grids have the same name. is there any solution for the above.
