I am using vb.net from vs2003. I have four fields from data base Line1, Line2, Line3, Line4 all of string type. Now I want to display these 4 values in a multiline text box so that each of these values will be on different line.I am using Chr(10) for line feed but not getting expected results.

in one panel is the DGV listing data from DB.
i need to display some more related data of those data in few text boxes in the second panel, when the user places the cursor in any particular cell.
like in the DGV, Code and Name will get displayed.
in the second panel there will be some text boxes like City, Group, Region, Etc,..
The DGV is populated by the data from table1 (for ex,.)

I would like to add the names of people in a SQL Database to a Multiline textbox if two values in their row do not equal 6. The first name and last name, as well as graduating year need to be added to the textbox, and then a new line needs to be created. The two values are contained in two separate columns in the DB. I'd like to try and stay away from using SQL Queries to accomplish this, so is there any way I can call these values using VB? Keep in mind the number of people that have values under 6 may vary from time to time. The purpose of this will be so that someone can print out a list of members who don't have the required amount of points at any given time.

In short, when I type (in a multiline RichTextBox), the letter t I would like the populated listbox show at that point (because "Then" is a word in the listbox) and if I click "Then" in the listbox have it "autocomplete" the word and display it in the color blue.

lstKeyWords is the ListBox and rtb1 is the RichTextBox - This was the only way I could get the ListBox to show in the "almost" correct position?

The controls include (Multiline) TextBoxes (Strings), NumericUpDowns (Integers, Decimals) and Checkboxes (Booleans). If the user clicks the save button a "Save File" dialog should appear allowing the user to specify the directory and the filename of the save file.All the values of the controls should then be written to that file.If the user clicks the load button an "Open File" should appear where the user can pick a previously saved save file. All the controls should then adopt the values found in the save file.I have implemented Application Settings in my form, and now when I click save, it saves the control values through My.Settings.Save(). If I click load it loads them.However, my project requires that multiple save files can be made to reflect multiple configurations. As I understand Application Settings only allow for a single .config file in the Application Data folder.So how can I code a save/load routine to save/load different configurations?

Note : The textbox is read only. So the one who adds sentences is the computer. Just like a chat box. I Have a scroll bar.
I have a textbox, and it's set to multiline, so a user can enter a few sentences. The problem is, if the user hits the enter button while in the textbox, it's starting a new line. This data is being saved as a text file, and it's causing problems when the text file is loaded back into the app, causing load failures.
I'd like to completely make the enter key useless when the textbox has focus. Or, if they hit enter, it tabs over to another button.
Here is some code I used to make the enter button behave more like a tab-

The problem is, the enter button still does a carriage return, causing a new line.

And it is supposed to read multiple lines from LimFile and send it to a string in VB.NET.Problem is that when I debug it, I see the string is there in full length. And when I split it with vbNewLine, it shows that theres only 1 line, aka nothing is split, like the newlines have been lost.

The only problem I have is the text in my multiline textboxes is going to the next line before it needs to. I have played around with settings, removed the textboxes and added them back, and I am still having the same problem. When typing in the textboxes, the text moves to the next line after pressing the space bar.

I'm getting lots of empty values in my combo box because not all the columns in Excel have titles. How would I go about telling it not to display them?
