View 2 RepliesI'm working on a webcrawler in VB.net, and using the System.Forms.WebBrowser object for handling navigation on sites that use javascript or form posts, but I'm having a problem. When I navigate backwards (WebBrowser.GoBack()) to a page that was loaded with a form post, the page has expired and I have to do a refresh to resend the request. When I call a refresh (WebBrowser.Refresh()), a dialog box pops up to confirm. Is there a way I can get around this modal dialog in code?

I have two textbox controls and I want to accept input for textbox 1 and textbox 2. However, when user enters text into textbox 1 I would like textbox 2 to mirror the same text as it is typed. I am sure this is a very simple procedure however it is new to me and I am having trouble finding an answer with search engines. Most result are coming back as text that one can read backwards in a mirror which is not what I am looking for.

When i open the list options the text looks fine, but as soon as i select something it goes back to upside down and backwards. Anyone seen this before?
View 3 RepliesI am writing a program to be able to input a password and take that password and display a new password in a label. the new password will display the results as follows. Any vowels in the old password will be displayed as an x in the new password and numbers will be displayed as x's, and the last part it will display in reverse order so if I enter in timmy1 it should display zxmmxt. I do not know how to write the code to be able to reverse the string to be able to display the password backwards.

View 6 RepliesI have a program that plays a video and uses the step function to move frame by frame backwards and forwards through the video. The forward frame works just fine:

However, the backwards step (below) jumps a full second backwards while the forwards step only steps .033 seconds forward (presumably a single frame).

I can't find any documentation about this problem online and in fact I can't find much mention of this function.the documentation does say the -1 command should step back one frame. IWMPControls2::step method Is this a known bug or is there an updated function I should be using?

I was wondering if anyone knew how to form a loop that could...lets say calculate the answer when two numbers are added together,and it would repeat this thousands of times, etc. And if there is a way, would it be possible to calculate the time taken to complete this loop.
View 5 RepliesI have written a function that gets the alexa ranking of a given url, now this function works perfectly but I want to loop through a ListView of urls and grab the alexa rank of each item (url) with my function.The code works great if I put a MessageBox in the loop to test that the function is returning a value but when I remove the MessageBox the loop does not work.I need it to loop through adding each result without a MessageBox stop in each loop.

So I made a simple patform game where the player has to jump quickly while the platforms move to the bottom of the screen, as to not touch the bottom of the screen. But, I need to know how to create a loop to loop the locations of the platform. 1) When a condition is being tested.. what does that mean? I don't understand the "condition" word.
2) What is the difference between a loop that never ends and a loop that ends?
