Take A MP3 Or WAV File And Plot A Graph Of Its Waveform Over Time?
Dec 9, 2009I need to be able to take an MP3 or WAV file and plot a graph of its waveform over time. Prefferably without playing it first. The representation doesn't have to be amazingly accurate as it's not for EQ purposes. I just need to pinpoint certain points in the MP3 / WAV when specific music / sounds etc occur (similar to the display in Windows Sound Recorder).
how I can go about that, or if it's even possible in VB 2005?

Jul 2, 2009I have to draw a bar graph in my vb.net program. I used AxMSChart to create a graph. Everything has gone fine but when i published this and run on Vista PC, all form was good except my form includes MSChart. It says class not registered.So i have to draw a graph except MSChart tool.

Aug 25, 2009I am having problems passing data from one form to another form opened from the first form.Here is my scenario: I have my start-up form. From this form I open a form by using the following:

I use this because I want to be able to open multiple forms from the start-up form.Then from the PartyDetail form I open another form to display order details, like this:

I want this order details form to be able to get a partyid variable from the party detail form.This works, but depending on the order that I open the forms the variables are incorrect Example:If I open the first PartyDetail form and then open the OrderDetail form, it works correctly. I can open as many PartyDetail and OrderDetail forms that I want and the variables are correct.But, say I open a PartyDetail form and then open another PartyDetail form and then open the OrderDetail form from the first opened PartyDetail form, it displays data based on the second opened PartyDetail form instead of the first. Basically, I want to be able to open multiple PartyDetail forms and then open OrderDetail forms based on whichever PartyDetail form it is opened from.Right now I am using Public Shared variables on the PartyDetail form and accessing this variable from the OrderDetail form. I suspect this is my main problem but don't know the best way to pass the variables from the PartyDetail form to the OrderDetail form.What would be the best way to do this?
VS 2008 Best Way To Draw This Simple Graph?
Apr 10, 2010Will any of the free light-weight charting libraries; ZedGraph or NPlot, be able to draw a simple graph similar to attached image (no waste of space, and with colored plot areas)? This plot will act much like the task manager "CPU Usage" plots, with update of last value every 500ms, but only making a new datapoint every 1 minute or so.
Or is this so extremely simple that it's better to hard-code it? What classes should I look into for this?

By "waveform data" I am mean SPL values in a fixed interval time-series (probably 44.1 kHz). Thru the serial cable port, a voltage level is sensed and is displayed on the "Voltage Level in Volts(V)" -- See attach imageAs for now, i am also needed to display the voltage level into another type form intead of just Dial Voltmeter. Maybe to display the voltage level to a waveform like what we see on the oscilloscope ? I came across a suggestion from someone regarding the oscilloscope, but its in C# instead, and after converting, the codes does not work. Hmm.. ?

May 11, 2011Given this illustration and basic code, how do I dequeue and draw the data that has been inserted into the User Control's Preperty queue? The graph/chart will need to show anywhere from 1 to 120 seconds of data, with each second representing electrical waveform data that arrives each second with a variable amount of sample data..The timer interval will have to vary with the amount of incoming data so that it shows a continuously moving waveform from right to left and the rate of drawing keeps up with the amount of data arriving. (so the queue doesn't get backed up)

My challenge is that when I try to convert the output of the following code, I can't convert the Math.Sin's double output into byte values that lend themselves to the byte array format required by an existing graphing control as listed at bottom below. I''m not sure how to handle this when the sin function creates negative values but the byte values will need to be positive and basically 'shifted up' so that anything over 127 is negative. (0 - 255) unsigned. BitConverter.GetBytes has been suggested but THIS is the result of that attempt.
