In my project I am using a session table. I am binding this session table to the gridview,in gridview row updating event.I keep the records of session table to a datatable and I use the code below code for updating:

My problem is when using PageIndexChanging, I can edit in the 1st page of GridView without any problem, but in second page it is editing the one corresponding to e.RowIndex in the first page, so no change occurs other than the first page in the gridview.

I am using a datagridview to do this but I can only make the whole table editable or not. View 4 RepliesI've read (or the only book that covers ado 3.5) is Murach ADO 3.5 and throughout the book, the author recommends using object binding so that's what I've been doing. However, I had a chance to look at all the codes for our applications at work, and only datatables are used.Was curious as to the difference/pros and cons between binding to an object, and binding to a table. I guess my real question is which one should I be using, datatable or object binding? Is there a definite answer or does it depends on the situation and what I want to do?

I am currently writing unit tests for an application near completion (before management looks at it and turns it inside out). I am testing the business layer and a method is set to return a datatable of all "GroupID"s, which are simply an integer to represent the group that a user belongs to.
I'm assuming the best way to assert on this unit test would be to assert that the correct groupIDs are being returned from a controlled test database. However, I'm not sure how to assert on a datatable. Is the only (and best) possible way to accomplish this to simply loop through the datatable until it's empty and add each value to an array of integers? How would one go about asserting on this test?

I'm trying to set the format of a column in a datagridview.When I put the format statement in the on load event for the form, it has no effect. I was create Access database with Access 2003. I create VB project with Visual Studio 2005 Standard With connection wizzard I create coonect with this Access database, select all tablesI see this database inside Data sources and inside Server explorer Test connection is OK When I drag and drop table from Data sources, Wizzard don't create DataGridView, DataSourceBinding etc .. and I see popup window with mesage: Object reference not set to an instance of an object and then "game over"

Also, I want the selected value of the combobox to be bound to an object property so that when the selected value changes, it's automatically updating the object. However it's causing an error at runtime: "This causes two bindings in the collection to bind to the same property.
Parameter name: binding" I thought binding the dropdown list to a datatable and the selected value to an object were different properties but obviously I'm not getting it right.

View 2 RepliesI have a datagridview that is bound to a Dataset I have created. My question is, how hard is it to be able to edit/add data to these rows? It looks as though the Dataset is actually a query of somesort (which you obviously can't edit) Is there a way to link directly to the table for editing? I know you can do this using queries, etc... but I'm thinking there should be an easier way.
