I'm writing a .NET program for an engineering company. Their specification is to find the number of holes (either of same or different radius) on a rectangular plate and then to find the area of the rectangle and also area of the circle inside that rectangle. It's not essential that the circle touches the rectangle.

Then app draws the circle with rectangle inside of it (if it fits). App should output the coordinates x1;y1 , x1;y2 , x2;y1 , x2;y2 (corners of rectangle) somewhere on form and would be great if it could post those coordinates on x and y axes (optional).

View 2 RepliesI'M creating a kind of photo viewer, and I cannot figure out how to orient the scroll buttons with the photos I want to draw because they all are different sizes.This is really hard to explain so please ask questions if you don't understand.I'M thinking if i could draw every photo on a single rectangle and then the scroll bars will position that rectangle up or down. but is there a way to make a rectangle inside another one so it only shows inside that rectangle?
View 10 RepliesOK, so I just started this VB programming class at school. But I don't understand much because the teacher doesn't really teach us. He just types everything on the projector and expects us to keep up. We have this project in which we are supposed to build a form that accepts the length and width of a rectangle, and calculates the area and perimeter of the rectangle. CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME?? I really have no clue how to do this, and more than half the other people in our class don't either, so finding help within the class is pretty much out of the question.
The user enters values for the length and width of a rectangle and clicks the Calculate button or presses the Enter key to activate that button. The application then displays the area and perimeter of the rectangle in the third and fourth labels on the right side of the form.
Specifications The formula for calculating the area is width * length. The formula for calculating the perimeter is 2 * width + 2 * length. The application should accept fractional decimal entries like 10.5 and 20.65. Assume that the user will enter valid numeric data for the length and width.

View 5 RepliesDrawing text on a picbox I notice if the picbox has a border style set then the TextRenderer.DrawText rectangle area needs to be adjusted slightly otherwise text may be drawn very near the picbox borders and the text doesn't look as clean, but I'm not sure what those offsets should be, I hard coded them in, see code under "' area to draw". btw, the code draws the first word of text in bold and then the other words as regular. 'One button, One picture box needed.

I have no problem, the text appear on several lines and it is well wrapped. But if the text is too long to be drawn inside the rectangle, I need to draw the text not drawn in another rectangle (on another page). How can I know the text not drawn in the first rectangle ? I think it is more difficult to use MeasureString because the text is wrapped.

i.e. the function should take parameters(x,y) and return a,b,c,d or a zero based number representing that triangle index i.e. (0=A,1=B,2=C,3=D) if they are in that order.

Basically the forum size is set to 600x2000 but the client should only allow you to view 600x600. I want it to add +1 once you "collide with a invisable box I'll add and this will redraw the screen.
I designed a form and managed to fit graphics inside it. Picture box is 465 pixels high. Form1 is 500 pixels high. SnapShot of the screen verifies that the 500 pixel height is the overal height. It includes the upper Bar and lower frame. Is there an instruction to set the From's inner pixel size and not overal?

Also, programmatically, how do I get the player to stop playing an audio file?I have my app that upon startup has the wmp. The program does not revolve around the wmp, it's just a nice addition for the user. The user has 2 options to "Hide" the player. 1) "Hide the Audio Player but keep Playing the Audio File" and 2) "Hide the Audio Player AND stop the currently playing Audio File". The first option is easy to code, but for the secoond option, I have not been able to figure out in code hoow to "Stop" the audio. And I could not find any examps. Thus, the reason I am asking here.
