I have created a Windows Form Application with a DataGridView. I want a DateTimePicker in some of the cells (not in complete columns). I've managed to find a solution wich works nicely.

I have a DataTable and want to connect the cells of one of its columns to cells in some other DataTables.
For example:

I am trying to write a module that will select cells from multiple, non-contiguous columns within a row that is defined by a variable. The column numbers are known and are unchanging. For example, my worksheet might look like this:
A B C D
Row 1 X X X X
I want to select cells A1, B1, and D1; however, I don't want to use the row number (1 in this case) in my code. Rather, I want the row number to be specified as a variable. The code I am writing is inside a For/Next loop, so I would like to use the iterative variable (i in this case) to define the row number. That way, every iteration of the For loop will select cells from a different row.

I've been able to incorporate stock data into my spreadsheet by linking it to the web, but the trouble is the spreadsheet will keep no history of what the previous stock values were, so I can't graph how things change over time. This sounds like it might be too complicated to be built in to excel, so I was wondering if anyone knew how to program this in Visual Basic. Maybe something like this.... If refresh then new cell plus new time stamp. Another possibility would be to have a whole bunch of cells that refresh only once but at longer and longer intervals, e.g.,

Then I want to take this information and on run-time begin to add/subtract/divide/multiply certain columns and place the information into other columns. Both ExecuteNonQuery() actions yields the exception message {"Syntax error in field definition."}The error message does not happen with the first if the boolean column is not there (I tried Tes/No as a definition - but that also failed.The second query to modify the ID column from autonumber to integer I assume fails because it is a Primary KeyHas?

I have a procedure that sets a datatable variable called dtP equal to prpParametersTable at the beginning of the procedure. I then add three new columns to dtP.Here is my problem. In C# if you start a snippet you press Tab to cycle through the snippet elements, and press Enter to complete and exit the snippet.
In VB.NET you still use Tab to cycle through the snippet elements, but how do you end the snippet? Enter doesn't work and I can't figure out the correct keyboard shortcut

So I was reading a bit on AutoComplete of textboxes in VB.NET, but I can't really understand where these are stored? Is it a fully built in feature, or do I have to write some code for it to work? I've found the AutoCompleteMode and AutoCompleteSource properties of textboxes.But I want to append whatever I've written in the textbox to the autocomplete source. Do I connect the source to My.Settings or something

View 2 RepliesI downloaded Visual Basic 2010 Express recently. I did a few of the tutorials and now feel that I know the basics. I can start a project and know where to put code. I don't feel like buying a beginner's book and slowly learning all the different sections, keying in endless lines of code and learning things that I'm not interested in yet. I wish there was such a thing as a complete reference work of instructions, a dictionary or something. Then I could browse this and use the code words that I'm interested in. Also, books seem to only mention the most common code. I did find a reference on the Visual Basic Microsoft pages but it wasn't complete. Does anyone know where there is a complete reference?
If, on reading this, you think that my idea is misguided I don't mind being told.

Although I thought I had registered for the 2008 VB Express, several attempts to run the application resulted in a "stall" at the following address: url...I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application several times but with the same result.I also installed the latest Vista service pack. View 5 RepliesI have a project where I need to call\execute a sub only after a certain timer has finished running and is disabled\stopped. The sub is called directly after the line of code that activates\starts the timer and the timer needs to run\tick for a couple of times before finally stopping itself with the help of a counter that's within the timer.tick event. The reason I need to wait for the timer is because it is working on some value that is needed by my sub.
Here's a portion of my rather long code that isn't working

But this method and a few others are not working and are mostly resulting in a non-terminating loop. What I don't understand is why is this happening and what is the proper way to wait for timers to finish. The timers interval is 30 milliseconds.
