I would like to know if there are some in built functions for the scenario that is described below :
The input is the path of a parent folder. Wat the function must do is , it should list out all the .zip files inside that parent folder. The parent folder can contain any number of subfolders, and the same applies to the subfolders too ..
VB version is not a barricade. Any of the versions VB6 or VS2005 can do. Also is there any other alternative way if there are no inbuilt functions as such.
I have developed a vb.net application which creates a csv file from database. When I run it from my system it works perfectly but when I copy the files from release folder to a folder on the server and runs the .exe file it give me IO Exception error. "The device is not readyť
I have an application that re-curses through sub-folders and adds them to a database, I'm running into issues with a folder/path being beyond 255 characters and the code not being able to list the sub-folders for the folder. The code I'm using is below, the program crashes when it reaches the first line upon reaching the folder which is 256 characters long.
Public Sub AddSubFolders(ByVal TopPath As String, ByVal TopFolderID As Integer, ByVal UNCValue As String) 'Called by StartAddSubfolders to check for sub-subfolders and add those to the database. 'The procedure recalls itself to check for further sub-folders. Try
Ok so i have a program that pulls up all the video files in a video folder. I need a code that will move one of the files in the listbox to a recycle bin i made. i just finished writing small console program to copy jpg's according to resolution to right resolution folder (code below). Is it possible to make it in easier way? And I'm wondering how to add information how many files was moved to which folder.
Imports System Imports System.IO Imports System.Collections Imports Shell32
in the current project im making i've decided to add in some tools, 1 of which is a renamer based of a renamer app that already exists (called scdtoolz), i want to build my own version of it so i can learn some new things, and build a nice GUI version of it.[code]So what i have managed to determine is that the current app scans the folders contents for the CRC32 Checksum, and renames based of that, since the 456.bin's CRC32 Checksum was 2274F80B, and in the text file 2274F80B is found here 'WWF - Rage in the Cage (T-81015)(U)#2274F80B#'So now i have determined game identification is based of the CRC32 checksums, how would i go about coding a similar ap in vb.net?first i need to make the app scan a folder, but how to return crcchecksum? and then rename if check = XXXX? If MD4 sums are easier/simpler i can use those instead, im lookin at a few hash app sources now, so i think i can see how to get the md5 but not the crc32 yet, or how to rename the 2 files and folder based of the text file.
I want to programmatically (c# or vb.net) copy files to an apps document folder on the iPad. The app has file sharing turned on.I have looked through the iTunes SDK, but haven't found anything that would seem to allow you to access an app. There is an application called DiskAid that does this so I know it's possible.
i am working in asp.net/vb.net I have to copy all files from a folder to another folder through coding using system.io the files should be copied in the new folder with their existing names
I (through a ton of help from everyone here at stack-o) have created a small WCF which is hosted as a Windows service using TCP..Last question for this little bugger; it's time for deployment. In my solution, there are 3 projects. One is the Windows service, another is the imported WCF, and finally a setup project I added for install.I can install/uninstall the service on my machine by going in the solution directory and finding "Setup.exe" or "Setup.msi". Executing either from explorer will install the service on my development box.Now there are a few directories associated with this solution. I'm betting that simply copying setup.exe or setup.msi to my target server and trying to run it will bomb out. How can I find out exactly which files/folder I will need to copy over for deployment?Or should I just copy the entire solution directory? That will be a little difficult for my coworkers as the setup routines are nested in directories 5 deep.
A user scans a series of documents which are sent through a program that places a .tif or .pdf of each document into a folder on a remote VM Server and sends the image location to a VM instance of SQL Server(along with other OCR extracted data).
It is my job to create a program that will:
1. Allow another user to see the filenames on a form, chose which files need to be processed (either by typing them into two textboxes {ie. start and end filenames} or by clicking on a start and end filename on the form {from a databound SQL container maybe?}.
2. The program then must show the images in a picture box as it is copying them to the destination folder.
3. Then the software must somehow be able to regonize which documents were processed, and not include them in new searches.
I am using Visual Studio 2008 Setup project. I need to copy one folder and the sub folders into the program files but when I tried to copy or add the folder to "Application Folder" in File System editor, I am able to add only files and not folders.
how to change the install folder path in a setup and deployment project/Installer class from program files to C:usersPublic in windows 7 and allusers folder in xp.Want to add MVP with my name.
I have made this installation program and everything work just fine, but I wish to improve it a little. Atm. all the files being installed is in a seperate folder, and the installation program simply move them to the right location. There is a builder program too.I would like it to add all files from a list to the programs resource.folder instead of a seperate folder.Atm I add the installation file to the destination folder with the following line. [code]
Private Sub Button6_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button6.Click If FolderBrowserDialog1.ShowDialog = Windows.Forms.DialogResult.OK Then End If End Sub
I have managed to get drag and drop working if this is any help:
Private Sub ListBox1_DragEnter(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As _ System.Windows.Forms.DragEventArgs) Handles ListBox1.DragEnter If e.Data.GetDataPresent(DataFormats.FileDrop) Then
So I've been using some code to generate directories and such in a custom treeview, but am looking to expand upon this idea. While it's not using recursive functions, and only calls functions when expanding levels, I'm not quite sure how to put some of these together.find a way to just search through all folders on the PC. If the folder contains audio files, that folder is than added to an array (searching a folder for audio files and adding that folder to an array is done). It's just recursivly searching all folders on the PC.Here is the code I've been using for the treeview (I'm not sure if it can be adapted):
Public Function ListAllDrives() As String() Dim arDrives() As String arDrives = Directory.GetLogicalDrives()[code].....
Basically I am trying to enable the user the ability to select a folder and the folders music files populate a list box. I want two list boxes on the page, one with all the contents of the folder and then the other one for files selected from the first box. I have no clue on how to do this at all...

I'm trying to write a small script that will copy a folder (named .minecraft) to a new folder (doesn't exist, but I want to create a new folder called .minecraft_backups). The current code I have is:
I get an error saying: Could not find directory '%appdata%/.minecraft'. I'm guessing it's because of the %appdata% shortcut. Is there any workaround to do this? The reason for this is because obviously if I don't enter %appdata% and enter the full route to the directory I need to enter the users username for the computer.
