So I'm trying to program a selection structure to display different commission rates per sales entered in a textbox.I need to have the commission total display alone. I have the simple interface done, but I'm having trouble forming the selection structure.
View 1 RepliesI am entering a values into another textbox and I want it to surrender Focus to another textbox if the value I have entered is the same as the one in the database.However what is happening is that if the value is the same as in the database the cursor just disappears and it does not give focus to the control that I want it to give focus to. Any ideas on how I can correct this.

I have a text box where i am entering numbers of double datatype andon the Keytdown event of the textbox some checks take pace and in certain circumstances I want to be able to stop the user from entering other information until they enter the right information in the textbox (where it says right here) . now when I say exit sub the textbox somehow loses focus . but this is not how I want it to be I want the textbox to remain with the focus so the user can change the information . How can i go about this.
And the other thing is why is my txtDestPayRate1.Focus() just befor the exit sub not working? because I am giving focus to it so whats happening or rather why is it not happening Is there a way other than exit sub to tell it to stop executing on that line and do other stuff

I'm really new to VB. This is only the 3 app I've created, and I'm stuck.I need to code an app that displays total commission earned on sales at different levels. The commission percentage goes up as sales go up.
Should I write a If/else/else/else/else/then statement or something else?There are 5 different commission levels in the problem. I have my interface designed, but obviously that's the easy part.

The Pay menu item calculates and displays the commission and the total pay for that person. So the issue is when I push calculate and summary, the total sales comes up, but not the total commission or total pay. Also, the color only changes to blue and that is it. I am not sure how to get the color or the font menu choices to be able to be choosen by the user. Is that possibile?

So I'm attempting to get three variable to print in a string, but I can't figure out how to make the Concat or Join commands to work properly. I've tried assigning the strings to a defined string variable and then "concatting" that and trying to do it in one big line. I keep getting an error either way. Here's what I have so far:

I want to be able to output the XML to a TextBox control on a ASP.NET webform. When I do output the XML I don't get any line breaks or indentation in the XML. The XmlWriter does not seem to have any properties to set formatting. Is there anyway to retain formatting and indentation?

It works kind of, after I hit the next key it calculates the total of the first number I typed then writes the next number, how can I make it calculate the total after I hit the key?
What iam trying to make is an app that would automaticly start two other applications, where one of them needs a single key pressed as input, and copy some link to the clipboard.The application that needs some keys pressed in order to start is this LINK As you can see it looks like some CMD piece of application. i want the output from that window into a TextBox on my form, but have been unable to do that.Ive tried two methods allready.. 2. This would also store a "log" as the textfile for later use.However the tricky part for me is to:
1. Get the output from the mw2sa.exe window to automaticly update the textfile every few seconds
2. Be able to read the textfile in the textbox. VB tells me its unable to read the textfile as it is beeing used.

To launch the program all i get is a black cmd window.. However, a log.txt file is created with the correct output, but since the cmd window isnt showing any output i dont think im able to use sendkeys to start the program. And if i try with only

I get the correct cmd window with all the right output. Sendkeys is also able to pass the key to start the program... But no log.txt is created!
I tried google and forum searches and although there is a lot of info and code, they all come up with similar code and not really what I'm looking for and I start to doubt that it's possible....I think it should, but I'm lost. I want to start Robocopy with a button on a form and then see the output in the textbox, just the same as you would see when you would run it from the command prompt. So in realtime, because if I don't see this, it's just like the program is hanging, which it isn't.
