Hexadecimal - Parse The Byte And Represent It With Two Characters Instead Of One?
Mar 25, 2010
i am working with serial communication in vb.i need to know how to get &h1 to be &ho1 to represent the byte o1 in hex or 0000 0001 in binary.i cant remeber how to parse the byte and represent it with two characters instead of one.
I have a hexadecimal value 07A5953EE7592CE8871EE287F9C0A5FBC2BB43695589D95E76A4A9D37019C8 Which I want to convert to a byte array. Is there a built in function in .NET 3.5 that will get the job done or will I need to write a function to loop through each pair in the string and convert it to its 8-bit integer equivalent?
I have a string of characters, but I would like to have a string of hexdecimal characters where the hexadecimal characters are converted by turning the original characters into integers and then those integers into hexadecimal characters. How do I do that?
I have a program written in VB.NET and I have a textbox for the RFID tag (which is in ASCII format) and then convert it to a simple text format to be saved to my database. How can I convert ASCII to plain text to save to my database?
I have a Form with 4 Text Boxes, 1 label and one button. What I need to do is: Make all the text boxes and label only except Hexadecimal inputs.when I press Button1
Label1 = TextBox1 AND TextBox2 ^ TextBox3 MOD TextBox4
Once again every all the numbers are in Hexadecimal format.
I've used regular expressions in the past. I have an app that parses a .csv file and replaces certain characters (commas). Here's an example.. item1, item2, item3, fruits are apples, oranges, grapes. Squash is a vegetable, not a fruit. What my app does is search each line between character1 and character18 and replace all "," with "~". How this is done through regular expressions?
bytes ( 00 00 00 ) I'm trying to remove from a specific set of locations within a byte stream. The following code is what I'm using. I tried using the Trim function as listed in the code at the bottom but that had no effect. I'm extracting from a fixed byte range and there are null values after the end of valid ascii characters. Dim temp() As Byte = GetByteArray(FrameData, 3, 32)
Private Function GetByteArray(ByVal MyArray As System.Array, ByVal Start As Integer, ByVal Length As Integer) As Byte()
How to correctly convert string containing upper ASCII characters to byte array besides looping through each character and filling the array using AscW(chr)?I know I can do something like:
Code: Dim bSourceData As Byte() = System.Text.ASCIIEncoding.GetBytes(sourcedata)
But this only works for lower ascii characters (0-127).Instead of ASCIIEncoding I can specify encoding myself (System.Text.Encoding.Getencoding(encoding).GetBytes(sourcedata)). But I have to specify correct encoding in this case, otherwise most of special characters are converted to "?". What should I do if I don't know the encoding?
I have written a program that uses an array of the english alphabet and Morse code. I also built a form with a input box for the alphabetic information and an output box with the Morse Code. What i am trying to do is basically type a word like "Hi" in the input box and produce the Morse Code equivalent in the Morse Code output box. [Code] This works but only one letter at a time. Do i need to Parse the string of characters one at a time, and then run it through a loop like i have created?
I just want to parse simple expressions like IIF(FVAL(PFC) = TRUE, (IIF((ORGVAL(BAS, "2012/12/31") + ORGVAL(DA)) < 6500, (FVAL(BAS) + FVAL(DA)) * 12%, 780)), 0)`After parsing this I should be able to know what functions contains what parameters.
[Code]...
I'm stuck with .Net Framework 2.0, so no Linq or lambda expression goodies for me. Also I want to include the code in my custom library and not just reference it. Can anyone point me to some good library or code.
I just need to parse and not evaluate the expression and find what tokens are in use. After finding the tokens I need to change the expression string before parsing, like if the function ORGVAL is used then the parameter passed has has to be prefixed by an underscore. Like ORGVAL(BAS) will transform to ORGVAL(_BAS). Some functions can have tow parameters like ORGVAL(BAS, "2012/12/31") and this will transform to ORGVAL(_BAS, "2012/12/31")
NOTE: IF THERE ARE OTHER WAYS OF DOING IT PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I WOULD LOVE TO AVOID A PARSER AND LEXER.
I create my algorthm and its finished but there is a problem, it encrypte all text and all text in a file but after decryption when i open my file (a video file)the player show all information about file(duration, size and ect) currectly but it dont play that my program encrypt and decrypt byte by byte and place a asci code in bytes(0 to 255)
I just converted the following code from c# to vb.net. It is functional and works correctly with my company's firmware/devices. My next challenge. Previous serialport code used much more readable structs which where then converted (after building a packet) into byte() automatically as part of the serialport encoding. (this is my understanding)How could I
1. morph byte arrays 'ToSocket' and 'ToMTP' below into structs and
2. convert into byte array for Socket.BeginSend(byte(),.....) to stream out to remote devices?
Is it possible in VB to truncate a larger data type ( an int with a value greater than 255) to a smaller one, say a Byte (which only goes up to 255) in a way such that the 8LSBs of the integer are copied to the newly created byte. I have tried this using CType with the following code, however it does not work.
Dim TestByte As Byte = CType(Test, Byte) Where the variable "Test" is an integer with a value of 419. This code always results in the Overflow exception.
I know you can put unicode character codes in a VB.Net string like this: str = Chr(&H0030) & "More text"..I would like to know how I can put the char code right into the string literal so I can use unicode symbols from the designer view.
Below is the code I am using to restrict user from entering any other characters except for the predefined ones. But using my code I cannot hit backspace.
How to include backspace also ?
Dim s As String = "0123456789$" If s.IndexOf(e.KeyChar) = -1 Then e.Handled = True End If
I'm creating a program that outputs Quotations (and other information relating to these 1. What is the BEST way to read/write from a database (I only really know how to use Access but if XML or SQL would be better, I'm willing to learn). The database needs to be stored and accessed from the same state every time that the program opens. I've tried multiple different ways, both through DataAdapters (in code) to doing it through connecting the database through the Visual Studio GUI. Neither have seemed to work. Other people have told me that using DataAdapters and such aren't the best way, but no one has been able to tell me what this 'best way' is. Also, I need to somehow be able to link pictures in the database - apparently it's not easy to do in SQL?[code]...
I have 2 byte arrays. I want to merge these two byte array into 1 byte array.Usually, I just create a new byte array with length = byte array #1 + byte array #2. Then copy byte array #1 and #2 to the new byte array.do I have more efficient way to merge 2 byte array using VB.NET and .Net 4?
I would like to create a function so that I can pass a string and it will return me the binary value, I will use this later in other parts of the script but I am getting an error that I don't understand.
Private Function ConvertToMD5(ByVal OldPassword As String) As Byte Dim NewPassword As String = "" 'The string we wish to encrypt
[code]....
On the "Return hashedDataBytes I get "Value of type '1-dimensional array of Byte' cannot be converted to 'Byte'"
I have a parcel post assignment, and i have three textboxes that represent height, width, and length. here are my questions1. how do i decalre them as integer? do i decalre the textboxes or the labels that represent them?2. how do i multiply all three together and multiply the total by 4pence and add 20p?
i can retrieve the data from the DB and put it in a vector and then, vector in a JTable, to display data in a tabular format in java, all i wanted to know is there any similar way in vb dotnet?
I'm trying to set up a CLASS to represent a data stream. This is a newbie question so if the answer is obvious, please excuse me.Several of the data items are multiples which I would normally represent as an Array element. For example, in the code below, the element SolarNameplate has up to 10 instances, so I'd like to use array notation.I get errors, and it doesn't work, so I assume I can't do it like below.
QUESTIONS : 1 - is it possible to use an array element in a class ?
2 - is there another way to achieve what I want ?
Public Class SM1PS01 Private _Projid As String '... name or number of project Private _LogoFile As String '... file containing customer logo[code]...........
I'm pondering a design that will require zooming. My intention was to use pictureboxes to represent a variety of items, and I have the code written to draw on those pictureboxes, as needed. However, there will be many pictureboxes on the form at any one time, though only a portion of them will be visible. That shouldn't be a problem, necessarily, as there isn't any issue with having controls that are not on the visible area of the screen. My issue is that when the user rolls the mouse wheel forward or back, the image will have to scroll in or out, which means that the location and size of the pictureboxes will have to scale relative to the point where the mouse is located.
Technically, this would be more easily accomplished using graphics directly, since I can use ScaleTransforms and...uh...one other, to do the scaling. However, I would prefer to stick with the pictureboxes because I will be doing lots of drag and drop work with them (dragging things into and out of them), and that code is already written. If I were to change that to use rectangles and circles drawn dynamically and scaled dynamically, I'd have to use some kind of hit testing to figure out which object I dragged or dropped onto, and where. Therefore, switching away from pictureboxes would require a fair amount of recoding. There really shouldn't be a problem scaling and translating the controls on the form, but rather than writing the math behind that, I was wondering if there were any built-in tools that will do it for me or will help with the process.
