Increment Value Be 1 And Refresh At Start Of New Year?
Mar 18, 2010
How do I write this, I'm still learning vb.net, I think I know how to do the increment value by 1 however how do I get it to restart back to value 1 at the start of a new year.
My project needs to have a field in the sql database table increment by 1 every time a new row is inserted, however the increment needs to start over at the value of 1 at the beginning of each year.
Our financial year starts at 1st of April of every year. Therefore the current financial year is 1st of April 2011.How do I get this date no matter what the current date is? For example, today is 2011-06-24, how do I return 2011-04-30. If today is 2012-02-05, I still need it to return 2011-04-30. However, if today is 2012-07-06, it should return 2012-04-30.So basically, the year of the financial date should not change to the current year until the first of May is reached. [code]
so im running a program, that when a button is clicked, it will increment a progress bar, and loops a code i have, until the progress bar is done. The problem is i want the bar to go slower, i have it incrementing like
I need to generate a report that shows the 52 weeks of a year (or 53 weeks as some years have) and their start and end dates. There is an ISO spec to do this but seems awfully complicated! Im hoping someone knows of a way to do it in C# or Visual Basic (its actually for Visual Basic 6 but I will try port it across)

I have made my application to start automaticly when windows start (registry ../currentversion/run/appname + path). In this mode the application start minimized and an little icon appear in the notification icon area. With this icon you can maximize the app or exit it.If you exit the app and start it again using the Menu (Start/programs etc) than the application start in minimized mode (and in this case I would like to have it in normal mode) because the setting autostart is still true.Is there a way you can detect when the application start when windows startup using the above registry or when people click on an icon in the programs menu (or desktop)?

I have custom asynchronous WebRequest class that I am testing to find out how fast the request will be cancelled and found some odd results, that starting 6 WebRequests with TPL and cancelling them right away takes 25 sec, but when I used just regular background threads it took only 5 sec.
Update: Running them without cancelling takes with Task.Start 9 sec and Thread.Start 3 sec accordingly. Imports System.Net Imports System.Threading
I'm using Process.Start to start an external command line application and using the StartInfo.Arguments method to send parameters to the application. I imagine I'll need to use a loop... but I can't figure out exactly how yet.I need to send anywhere from 1 - an infinite number of files names to this application. Each file has to be sent one after the other. So once the first one is done, I need to loop back around and past the second one.I can probably use the Directory.GetFiles method to get all of the files, but I don't know how to assign them.
I created 3 timers, i want each timer to take turn start which means timer1 stop then timer2 start, once timer2 stop timer3 start. But my code seem to be running together once i click the play button. And is there any ways to easy control how my picturebox move? Because my code for controlling it movement need to keep finding the correct number for it to move.
I've commented out various things to limit it to specifically this command (example, I can swap mklink out with notepad and it works fine). The command runs fine from a DOS window, but can't be found when I use it this way. I also tried using the SHELL command just to test and I get the same results. No idea why it can't be found, as like I said it executes from the command prompt just fine.
I am confused with the terms Build ,rebuild ,start , start without debugging in VS.NET.After writing the code what actually we want to do .We have to run directly by pressing F5 key or we have to build the solution .Usually i tried to run the application after coding and if shows any any errors i will fix that and run again .I never used build or rebuild thing .What exactly meant by building the solution .What is meant by rebuild and start without debugging.
While i Minimized the program and clossing the program , next times i start the program, it also minimized. how can i prevent this problem happen!! And i want to start the program at position which start minimized. how can i do it!!!

I want to know how can I get the year and month into my database. For example, suppose it's August, 2011. The output that I need is like this: CAB 11 08 001 (CAB + YEAR + MONTH + CURRENT NO. in tracking number. )[code]...
came across this issue while converting a for loop in C# to VB.net I realized that the increment operators are not available in vb.net (++ and --)whereas i was able it do something like cnt +=1 .In VB, a STATEMENT cannot be just an EXPRESSION. why this doesn't work in the same way as it does in C#.
If I have a textbox1 and button1, where in textbox1 the date will display as 01-Apr-2011, I want to click on button and have the date in textbox1 increase by 1 day.So, if textbox1s date is 01-Apr-2011 then in textbox1 after clicking the button, textbox1s date will be 02-Apr-2011, a further click will get 03-Apr-2011 and so on.How do I do this using VB.NET?
