Creating An Audit Trail
May 4, 2009I was hoping that the various controls for WinForms in VB.Net 2008 would have a property such as OldValue and NewValue that I could pull from the Change property.
I'm wanting to write a generic code that will save the OldValue, NewValue, name of field and name of table, and date of change directly to a simple Audit table.
Items aren't changed often, but we need to be able to trace the history of changes to certain fields. I've got the code written for saving to the table, but I'm not finding anything that will show me the two values I need.
I get the NewValue from the changed property but how can I locate the OldValue for date/time pickers, text boxes, check boxes are the main items on the forms.

i have two arrays called StartPoint() and Endpoint(). Both of the arrays are constantly updated with every change of direction.
I need the trail to follow the bike and once the player changes direction, it needs to stop and start in the new direction.

Jan 9, 2011I'm trying to create a 'trial version' for a software of mine, currently it is pay-only. Basically the most efficient way I can think of is to simply change the startup form of the trial version after 15 days. The new startup form will simply be a request to register.

Jul 27, 2010I've run into another road block while programming my game. The problem is that when a player types North in room "Crash Site" They get the description of traveling to the next room "In Trail" as well as the description of traveling to the next room after that, "Deeper In Trail" before having to type north again. I've looked over the code several times, but can't find the problem....the conditions seem to be fine, but I'm guessing that's where the problem is..

Basically I use SetPixel on a given window to draw a line, work fine, but the line goes away as the window redraws itself.The problem: I have been putting timers and threads on it to make sure the line is being drawn. Is there any way to make a loop to make a certain thing happen about 10-30 times without taking in too much memory/CPU?

It works really well, except if you search "T" then the code removes all items, if you search "t" then it removes every item except for those starting with "t". Is there any way to make a 'like' statement, or use some kind of wildcard to make the statement not case sensitive?
