Aug 27, 2010I need to make a small programm for ticketing on a parking for a small hotel.So i have 2 Printers pariking In (for delivery of the tickets) and 2 Readers PArking Out.Both Printers and REaders are working Serial.So i need to poll the serial ports of the printers and readers every second.The data is stored on a SQL database so i need to read and write in the database.Can i do this with 1 PC and 1 programm or 1 PC and 4 programms that are runnning at the same time ?

Jun 13, 2011I have a little project but ive come to an error. What it does: It goes to a site, fills a form and then submits it. But the submit is too fast. I want it to fill in info, then wait 3 seconds and then submit it.

Sep 16, 2010I'm using a WebBrowser to print some HTML data, all works good except for the print preview called in the load completed event - It opens as a very small window in the top left, anything I can do to improve this?

How To Make A Small Image Rotating
Jun 8, 2011I want to make a small logo in the upper corner of a Form rotate.
I've seen on some forums that they have small avatars dancing and such, so I imagine it would be posible to make a tiny image rotate by it self up in the corner in a Form.
Does anyone know how to do this? Link to tutorial, codesnippets etc..
Ps. The goal is to make it smooth. Not turn 4 x 90 degrees.

Margin and padding are all zero
The text in the button is an upper case letter X (sanserif 8pt)But even though there's enough space the text is too low and half of it is off the bottom of the button with lots of empty space above the text.
if I make the button slightly bigger. 19x19 then all the X is visible but there's just LOTS of space above and it doesn't look good.I 'could' make my own button class but surely there's an easier way. Is there something I'm missing ? maybe some combination of margin and padding that I haven't thought of ?
I will add that if FlatStyle is Standard then it isn't as bad at 19x19 but that has thick border. I'd really like to use flatstyle popup and possibly a bit smaller than 19x19

Dec 14, 2011My instructor told us how to print documents and how to use databases. What the instructor did not mention is how to print or print a preview of records within a DatabaseDataSet. The book "Programming in Visual Basic 2010" does not explain how to print or do a print preview of Database Source records from within a form. The only thing I was told was to test the print document first before you try to do a print preview. Within a form I used a DataGridView to add, delete, and update the database. So now all I need to do is figure out how to print the updated records from the DataGridView and how to print a preview of the records within the DataGridView. So I hope my question is clear enough to give me assistance on how I can perform these two actions. Thanks this would be a great help, and since the class is online we can get assistance from any sources that we have.

Its an application to calculate student grades for a group project. Create a text file to store names of 5 students, line by line. In a separate file enter peer evaluations from 0 to 1.0. Enter these numbers for evaluations:
1.0, 0.8, 0.9, 1.0, 0.6
0.2, 0.9, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7
0.5, 1.0, 1.0, 1.5, 0.9
0.9, 0.9, 0.9, 1.0, 1.0
1.0, 0.9, 1.0, 0.8, 0.9
This means that student 1 gave 1.0 evaluation for himself , 0.8 for student 2, 0.9 for student 3 etc.Student 2 gave 0.2 for student 1, 0.9 for him- herself, 0.5 for student 3 etc. Read these into a 2-dimensional array. If any of the values is greater than 1.0, set them to 1.0. The program should calculate the average evaluation for a student. While doing so, the program should ignore evaluations that student gave to him-herself. Populate a list box with student names when the form loads. The user should enter a project grade (same for everyone) in a textbox. Then the user can select a student from a list and click �Calculate� button. The program should display the project grade for that student by multiplying average evaluation by the grade for the whole group (project grade).

Jun 28, 2010I'm writing a small application that downloads some files over ftp, the incoming directory is monitored by FileSystemWatcher_Created, on creation I want to extract some text from the file and call another application with the text as parameters the problem I have is the FileSystemWatcher_Created procedure is triggered before the file has finished downloading, I could download it elsewhere and move into the monitored directory but some of the files may be quite large and Im wondering if there is an efficient way of waiting until the file is ready? along the same lines what is the best way to queue the tasks as there can be many files coming it at one time, I've looked at threading but would that be suitable for such a task as there will still be a bottleneck at the application called by FileSystemWatcher_Created ?

I've read that if you install it to WMP, then it will automatically work to MediaElement. It did work first, but then i had DivX installed, when i uninstall'd DivX, it stopped working.
