1. Is there anyway to make an application look as though it has been set to a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 when the true resolution different?
2. I am developing my app using a widescreen monitor. What dimensions does the form need to be set to so that it looks exactly the same on a normal & widescreen monitor?
The development machine's and client machine's screen resolution are very likely to vary. I want a code that will RE-SIZE and RE-POSITION each and every control so that no matter what the development machine's resolution is, the application will look exactly the same on the client machine irrespective of its screen resolution.
These two links are as close as I get to the answer, but they are not very clear.

View 2 RepliesI am currently creating a web service in vb.net and I would like to ask the community what is the best way to make this compatible for PHP users and other languages.An example of my code is as follows:
Public Shared Function GetBasketInfo(ByVal sessionid As String, ByRef ds As DataSet, ByVal attributes

If String.IsNullOrEmpty(attributes) Then
Throw New ArgumentNullException("Please supply a manufacturer")[code].....
My question is will this method be compatible with PHP consumption.
I'm trying to make my program compatible with more computers, even if their computer is not up to date. Im trying to make it compatible with the following windows versions, all versions so if it has home, professional, server, etc...
Windows 98
Windows 2000
Windows ME
Windows XP
Windows Vista
Windows 7 RC
Now, my program is compatible with the bottom 3, and with 64 bit computers, the problem is that my program has to have the .NET framework 3.5 installed, which meens XP needs updated and that framework installed, and on earlier versions, it wont install the framework through windows update and the like, also, I cant expect people who want to use it to have it installed, can anyone explain a way for me to make it so my program if its possible, then whatever features may use that framework, if just not calling that code will stop the program from crashing, or if i can make it use older version instead of a newer version framework, maybe only in certain cases.
Is there a way to compile my application so it would be compatable with most OS?
When i compile my application, it runs fine on my computer but when i want to run it somewhere lese it asks for .net framework? My app is not even complicated and i wonder if there is a different way to compile it?

The login code behind is:
Protected Sub btnLogin_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnLogin.Click
{..................
ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(Me, Me.GetType(), "test", "login()", True)
........}
The ASPX page code is:
function login()
{
if(document.getElementById("ctl00_Sidebar_Contentplaceholder_Lo1_SaveFlag").value =="Y")
[code]....
This is not working. I tried to debug it, but in debug mode the cursor only steps through the code behind. I'm not able to enter the javascript login() function on the aspx page.

how to get resolution of any application?
View 4 RepliesCan anyone throw idea to make the form as Resolution Independent?
View 5 RepliesI'm making an application in vb.net and during the development has arisen the need to make a form greater than the screen resolution.For example:
Screen resolution: 1280x800 and 2560x1600 sizes form
Obviously, the form should
not have scrollbars.
I am developing an application for the first time and need guidance.Developement Env: Visual Studio 2005 Pro, Visual Basic 2005 , Windows XPApplication Target: Windows XP & VistaI developed the application under a screen resolution of: 1680 x 1050 pixels. When the application is installed on any computer with lower resolution, my application window does not size properly and many of controls end up "messing up". How can I fix this issue?Also, I have noticed when I resize my application by dragging the bottom right-hand corner the application does not really re-size, it just gets covered. I am attaching 2 skeleton snapshots of my application below....Image before resize (1680 x 1050 pixels) Image after resize (1680 x 1050 pixels)
View 4 RepliesBasically, we already had a software working in 1024x768 environment. The program however, have a lot of custom controls and forms that cause problem when users run it in a smaller screen resolution (e.g. 800x600).I had tried change the size of the forms, set auto scrolling, Klik.SizeLibNet3 and etc. All of them has too much work involved or can't achieve best result.Is there any way which I can remain the size of my program (include all the forms) and have a container with scrolling to place my program inside? Or is there any other ways that I doesn't need to modify much on my application?
View 12 RepliesI am working on an program and I need it to change the size on the form and the button etc when its ran on a different resolution then it was coded on. Is there anyway to do this easy or do I have to hard code it on two different and change it by like a button etc? I am working with a 1024 X 780 and a 1240 X 1024.
View 8 RepliesI want to know how can I make a program what will work in any type of resolution & monitor. For example if I make an application fullscreen it will work. But problem is that text boxes or another things will not work properly. For example if I make a program & make it fullscreen for 1440 * 900 resolution it will work fine when it will get 1440 * 900 resolution. But when it will get different resolution like 1280 * 1024 or something like that it will make my application fullscreen but buttons or another things will not be present there in same place. So what should I do to get rid of this problem? All I want to make a program what will adjust itself everywhere(though you change resolution or monitor like 17 inch or 29 inch whatever it will work & buttons & another thinks will be there in same place).
