Interactive Arrays Visual Basic?
Jan 21, 2011In doing mathematics, I need to enter many values from equations into an array or arrays. I want to be able to vary these value any time I run the program.
I would like to know how to do this while the program is running?
back in the days of Quich Basic, it was simple, ie
Dim array(9)
For I = 1 to 9
INPUT array(I)
Next I
The program stopped at each pass to let you enter values.
How can you do this in Viual Basic 2010 for example

Doing Objects With Visual Basic 2005 Sample Project?
Apr 7, 2010I am hoping that somebody here is familiar with the book, "Doing Objects with Visual Basic 2005" so this question makes more sense but I will try and ask it in a way that makes knowledge of the book irrelevant.The book contains a sample project that I am trying to use as a "framework" for all my new projects. The project shows you how to read and edit objects to and from a database and that part works great. The author then leaves the new and deletes up to the reader to do, which is a good way to learn. However I am having trouble with the it. My problem is that I am having trouble implementing my own ProcessNew InterfaceI think this is how it should be:

May 18, 2010This probably sounds daft, but im struggling to get to grips with Classes/Modules/arrays and objects, as well as there uses and what they are, and yes im still coding some how i hear you cry.The reason i ask is because Ive got a load of Dim's in my program that are the same giving locations of files and folders and wondered can they be used as a module that i can alter after the program is built, incase of folder locations being wrong or moved, manually correct after install.

Define Initialized Arrays In Functions And Return Values Based On User Input Visual Basic?
Apr 4, 2011In this application I need to allow users to enter a month as integer (1-12) then use integer tryparse to validate that input, that seems to be the easy part. I need two create two functions, one that returns the name of the month and the other returns the number of days in that month. The arrays are supposed to be defined and initialized within the function so that the main program can take the user input and call the two functions, then return the appropriate values as output to labels. I am not sure how to declare the arrays in their appropriate functions and then how to call those functions to retrieve the right value from the function.

Feb 4, 2011Write code or use tableadaptors, bindingsources, dataset, etc.? I have experience with the older ways i.e. connection strings, ado code, sql, etc. but was hoping the newer tools in vs would make the user interface easier and more flexible. So far i have been disappointed. Am I wrong and I am missing something? Am I alone in this opinion or ? What is your past experience in VB and have you found vb.net to be a step forward in db user interface design? if your answer is yes then what is the easiest way to put a table record count into a text box? should i bypass all the new stuff/objects ( adaptors, binding sources, navigators, designers, etc) and just write code or what?
