I have an ASP.Net site that is using the singular form model. Each page has multiple forms (login, search), and I'd like for the forms to obey the 'enter' key. Currently if a user is in the login form at the top of the page, if they hit 'enter' the form is submitted, but if they are in the search form, a little further down the page (and lower in the DOM), hitting 'enter' causes the login form to submit.
I had a problem with WebBrowser component. Basically, it works improperly when try to log in on one web-site (Forex Trading Social Network | Online Forex Trading Forum and Social Networking Site). I am working with Visual Studio 2010 Professional. I created a simple WebBrowser trying to access the indicated web-site. The problem begins. Well, the website loads, but when you go to the login page (Forex Trading Social Network | Online Forex Trading Forum and Social Networking Site) and try to log in, it doesn't work. I mean, when I enter the login details the login page just refreshes itself and the login wasn't proceed. The same login page appear with every login attempt. The is the current problem!I check with Google, it works. But, it doesn't work with Forex Trading Social Network | Online Forex Trading Forum and Social Networking Site! Why?
I'm adding a extra functionality to an existing program. Its a Login page to manage the time a user came in and out. So first a login is asked, then (on the same page) a list with the login times are shown. The same button is used (just relabelled) for the login and time in/out.
The problem exist when users want to use enter to login and time in/out. So quickly press enter twice. No problems with the login. But the second page wont recognize the enter. even when I capture the keypress with JavaScript nothing happens. I have to click the form (or a object in the form) so the enter would work.
I have an ASP.Net 3.5 in VB.Net page that uses a master-page and has several pages it uses to display content. On the master-page their is a search text-box for the site so that shows up on all the pages. Their is also a login page screen to get to a members account. The issue is: When you are on a content page I would like when a user puts something in to search for and presses enter it will process the search request.But....If you are on the login page I would like to disable enter key for the search and if the user presses enter on the login page to process the login request.
In my master page there is a submit button for the site search. On most pages this is only triggered if enter is hit whilst the search box has focus. On a couple of pages though hitting enter on the main form it triggers the search submit. I know that I could fix this by enclosing the search in it's own form tag and then changing every page to have it's own form tag, but I need something that is a lot simpler as a fix as I'm low on time. Is there a way I can tie the text boxes in the form to the correct submit button?
I have a Data Entry form. I wanted to make the Enter key work like TAB key so that if a user presses Enter key, the next control should get the focus key. For this, I used the Forms KeyPreview on and Form's KeyUp Event to trap the Enter key and used the SendKeys.Send("{TAB}"). The problem is that to open this form there is a MenuToolStripItem. If Selects this MenuToolStripItem by pressing enter (not mouse click), this Enter key is processed by the DataEntry Forms KeyUp event and the focus goes to the second object instead of the first one.
Another problem is that .. suppose there is a textbox TaxType. if user Types 1 and press Enter, It should jump to the VAT textbox. for this i used Vattextbox.focus event if the of TaxType.Valideted event. But the focus moves to the next control after VATtextbox. alternatively if user presses TAB in TaxType textbox then it goes properly to VATtextbox.
I am facing this problem every time where i need to make Enter key work as TAB since long time.
Is there a way to prevent the Enter key from being interpreted as a button click.
I am trapping key strokes at the form level but if a button has the focus and the ENTER key is pressed I cannot trap the enter because the button consumes it as a button click event. I am also unable to trap the enter key in any of the button's key events.
I am interfacing with magtripe swipe and barcode readers that send their information as keystrokes with a CRLF at the end. I have a work around by chaning the focus to a textbox anytime keystrokes are detected but I am hoping for better control.
Is there a way to disable the buttons ability to do this?
I have a form containing a chart which plots based on values in textboxes on the form. I have textbox keydown events set up so that when the user enters a value into a textbox and presses enter or tab, the chart re-plots and focus is passed to the next textbox in tabindex order. Below is the
PrivateSub Param1ValueBox_KeyDown(ByVal sender AsObject, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs) Handles Param1ValueBox.KeyDown If e.KeyCode = Windows.Forms.Keys.Enter Or e.KeyCode = Windows.Forms.Keys.Tab Then
[code]....
The code does exactly what I want it to do. However, when the user presses enter Excel makes a warning noise (berrt!) as if they have done something wrong. How do I make Excel chill out with the noises? ... is there a text box property i need to change? I have tried all that seem sensible. (I am creating an application for Excel 2010 using VSTO 2010 and VB.NET 4.0)
I have the requirement to create an application that has multiple front ends developed using Windows Forms, WPF, ASP and Compact Framework Mobile Forms.I would like to be able to create a series of obejct representing the business logic and have this logic accessible from the various front ends available. My first thought was to use remoting as I'd like to be able to pass the business objects back and forth between client and server but the compact framework doesn't support remoting and also transferring a full framework business object to a compact framework business object doesn't seem possible. My next thought was to use web services but again the passing of business objects seems to be very hard to accomplish. Without doing this I would have to create individual web methods for each business operation.
Finally my next option is to use sockets and write the whole client/server logic within some classes and expose them to the UI/Business layer. My only problem with this is it is not scaleable should the number of clients increase dramatically whereas using remoting or web services I can host the solution via ASP.Net.Does anybody have an ideas on the best way forward for this or even have any input on how they would write an application that required a windows form, wpf, asp website and mobile device GUI all of which want to use the same business logic?
I cannot seem to successfully send the Enter key to a webbrowser control using .net. I can succesfully send postmessage Tab key and it tabs through the links and controls, but it does not click on the link when I send Enter key.The website I am opening has frames, and due to the cross frame scripting policies microsoft forced into the IE control , I cannot retrieve the links from the IFRAMES on the page. So my alternative thinking is to use Tab keys to get to the link and then press Enter.
i want to set Arabic language to some textbox in my form.in Access its a property but its not exist in VB.net 2005 how can i change the Input language when i enter my textbox?
ive been trying for days to try to figure this out out on my own , and im wondering how i can have the user enter a string into a textbox and press a button and have that text appear on a label.
I want to have a counter that measures when a mouse enters/leaves a form. To that extent I used the .mouseenter/.mouseleave commands. This works to an extent. The problem is that moving the mouse over any controls inside a form count as existing it- I don't want this. Is there a way to define the controls as a part of the form? Meaning- if the mouse was over one of my labels- it would count as being within the form. A less elegant way to measure form access could be to use the form positioning, and define capture any mouse movement within it.
i developing my stock management system..in the welcome screen i want to put a enter button with a symbol as in computer keyboard.how can i get that symbol in button Text.
I have googled high and low to find an answer to this but I must be searching wrong.I have an application which has a listview displaying some items that are stored in a SQL Compact database. I am using a second form to add new items to this list directly into the database. When the second form closes I want to call the sub in my first form to refresh the list from the database.
How can I get it to fire the form1 sub routine on the close event of form2
i was doing a fair amount of programming many years ago, like 10 it feels like, so I'm sorely not up to date on how my newly downloaded Visual Basic Express expects me to communicate with it.I am writing a program that pulls a cell from a database after the user has gone through several forms to determine which cells they want. When I write it like that, it doesn't sound very efficient, but I've designed it this way for usability. Here's where I have a problem: Should I store the path the user takes in a string, an array, what?
Here's an example:Someone wants baseball stats and trivia. They run my program, main form pops up, they select National League button, the NL Form pops up. Now the way my program is set up right now, is there are two ListBoxes on the form, one is populated, and as the user selects a Team from ListBox1, it jumps to ListBox2. Once they've selected all the teams they want info for, they click a button Next.
What I now need the program to do is show the next form "Team: name" once for each team, and insert the name of the team on the form in the appropriate label which I'll have blank. This form will also do the Listbox thing except the first listbox will populated with Topics like HR Stats, Pitching Stats, Coach History, etc.
Assuming that I have a Windows Forms textbox and want to reduce the maximum amount of characters that can be allowed in via user entry, how would I do that?
In my program i have a log in screen, what i want to be able to do is to be able to load the next page on the press of the "Enter" key as well as a button.
Launch a dialogue window from the main form, and then another dialogue window from that dialogue window. If you close the second dialogue window and call dispose the main form vanishes under any other open windows. This doesn't happen by closing a dialogue window normally, but I am attempting (rightly or wrongly) to stop memory useage creeping up by disposing of it.
So, the question is - what method can be employed to maintain the position of the windows?
I have two forms frmMain and frmNew, and one module modMain. In modMain I hold public variables which are needed for application. My question is how to open and close those two forms when needed? I ask this because if i set frmMain as startup form, then when closed, application will end, and one of those two forms will always be displayed. Also if I set frmNew as startup form, then when I close this form, application will also end. Is there a way to do this from module or something so my application won't end after closing and opening any of those two forms?
VB.NET newbie here... I have an vb.net windows application set up. It has multiple forms, about 6 in all. There's a main menu form, and then 5 other forms to collect data. The user will collect data on each form and bounce back and forth between forms. How do I get the forms to retain the data that has been entered into the text boxes and/or other controls on the forms? For example, they might fill out a few textboxes on a form, but then need to go to a different form and fill something out... and then back to the previous form. Right now, when they come back to the form, all the data previously entered in to the text boxes is gone.
I am trying to write code with multiple forms. The first screen is splash screen then is supposed to close and have a calculations screen. In the timer of the splash screen I wrote the following code
Option Explicit On Option Strict On Public Class uiHinsbrookSplashScreen
[code]....
This opens the second screen, but when I Hit Exit on the Second Screen The first screen is still open. What do I need to do next?
i have my first aspx page that has data thatthe user fills in. it is in format of textbox's and at the end of it all the user clicks submit and all data goes in the database. In the database each record gets an ID field. Now when the users clicks submit and goes to the next page, i want the ID's (they could be 1 to 1000+) from the DB that he just inserted and have them available on the second page. how can i take all the id's from page 1 to page 2? can i do it in session?
I am trying to print multiple tabpages each as its own page. The problem that I am running into is that it will only show the last page loaded in the print preview.
Private Sub PrintPreviewToolStripMenuItem_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles PrintPreviewToolStripMenuItem.Click Me.PrintPreviewDialog1.Document = Me.PrintDocument1
I have 2 master pages with same (href) links on top of the page. Now these links load on the same master page when clicked on (by requirement). The problem is both these master pages have same links, so basically the same page shall be loaded in the master page. Now what i need is when the person is on Master Page 1 and clicks on the link it should load in the same page. Whereas if the user is on Master Page 2 and clicks on the same link, i should be able to change the master page from 1 to 2 and load that in Master Page 2.
I have multiple iframe items on a page (vb.net based application), in particular, one is a frame that holds links that generate the details frame. Currently the javascript is working for IE but when used in any other browser it does not work correctly. Here is the line that is causing this errorwindow.parent.detailFrame.location.href = form + "?cat=" + cat + "&par=" + par + "&HighlightID=" + HighlightID;I can tell this line is incorrect in firefox because when placing alerts in the function after this line, they do not fire, but they do in IE. can anyone see what needs to be done for this to work in both firefox and IE?
edit: i am able to use items like window.parent.getElementById('detailFrame').location
I'm creating a barcode printing module, anyway when I generate the barcodes bitmap that contain all of the barcodes and print this bitmap using the PrintDocument control it's print the first page only
