i wanted to link options selected from Comb box A (general) to specific options in combo box B (specific). I want to pick a word in Combo box A that has specific words/phrases in Combo Box B show. But not all the words to show in the combo box B if they aren't associated with the Word picked in Combo Box A. Ex.When "Soda" is picked in A, only "Coke, Sprite, Fanta" should be visible in combo box b, not everything else.This is the code i used to make the boxes, but i don't know how to link them.

I am trying to create a textfile and write some lines into the textfile. However, the code that i am using can only write when the textfile is already created in the directory.
For this case, can i actually allow my script to search if a textfile is being created, if not create a textfile ???

I've got 2 RTB one is for input of text and one is output.The output one needs to read the words from the input and display it alphabetically and with their line numbers.I have partly done it and it currently reads it but here is my problem When the words are outputted let say for example there are 2 words the same on the same line e.g the word 'you' appears twice on line one,at the moment its coming up like this

other than GML (Yoyogames.com Game Maker Language), I am new to the coding world. The only "major" project I have completed using VB is a computer calculator that exactly mimics the capabilities of Windows 7's calculator. Yesterday, I began a Chatbot program for my girlfriend. I am working on a sub that essentially needs to open a text file, and replace all instances of a certain character with a unicode character. I'm trying to do this by reading the original text file byte by byte, converting it to a character, and then either adding that character to a memory stream or writing the unicode character to the memory stream. Then I'm saving the memory stream to the original file.

For each character of this string I want a new character out of the string and then remove the character from the list of characters that still maybe used for other characters. It may not get the same character, you could basically just call this encryption, but it's not what I am making. I don't want to waste my time doing this one hour while VB can do this for me in <1 second.

I am writing a hangman type game and I am displaying the word to the user in a label as all *'s, but I cannot figure out how to have just one of the *'s changed in the label to the correct letter when the user inputs the correct letter into the text box and clicks the check letter button.Everything else in the program works perfectly, except for this part.[code]When I use the .Replace it changes all of the *'s to the correct selected letter.

In my VB.NET application I compare words that are recorded using IPA, many of which have many diacritic marks. In one of the comparisons, I compare the words character by character. But when I iterate over the characters, the diacritic marks come out as separate characters (as I would expect since this is unicode)However, a u character is different than a u plus an accent for the purposes of this program and needs to be distinguished.
