This is more html code but I am only trying to access "fn", "tel", "fn org", "street-address","locality", and"region". Here are so facts I know. They list the agents info under a vcard element. Under that element there are name, tel, and organized listed. Then the address information is listed under the element "adr". So I need to loop through the information getting each set of agent information

View 18 RepliesI am working on making a program that will log into my internet banking site (this will most likely have to be done in IE) grab my current available balance and store this to a string, before I do any research I was wondering if anybody had anything like this already completed.I also need it to do this silently (as in no open IE windows) no visibility of program running to the user.
View 7 RepliesI am using the following SQL statement to retrieve information from an access 2003 database but this command keeps stripping out the proceeding 0 from the number of the month. The variable is called TBookingsDateFulldate
Dim sqlQuery As String = String.Format("SELECT [ID], [Date], [Zone], [Year], [Subject], [Teacher], [LessionID]" & _
" FROM tblBookings" & _
" WHERE (((tblBookings.[Date])={0})" & _
" AND ((tblBookings.[Zone])='{1}')" & _
" AND ((tblBookings.[Active])=0)" & _
" AND ((tblBookings.[LessionID])='{2}'));", TBookingsDateFull, TBookingZone, TBookingsTimes(B, 0))
Basically I'm adding a registration feature into my program, or a similar thing to that. So, when you purchase you can install up to 3 copies (for example), but not more.To do this, I need to know some kind of information that is unique to each computer (to store in my database online), I thought of the name of the computer, but that isn't unique, obviously.
View 9 RepliesI need to convert a large VB6 app to vb.net which does a lot of database work and produces a Crystal Report. The initial form is simple a login form which validates the user. I am trying to use a datareader to retrieve the user's login info but it won't compile on the statement where I'm trying to get the Connection String from the app.config file. It complains that the ConfigurationManager is not declared on the dim statement. Where and how do I declare the ConfigurationManager? I thought it was just pointing to the app.config file but apparently that is not correct. [Code]

Info class: Public Class ProductStageInfo

maybe I just don't understand the whole collection/index/thing. All the examples I've found are regarding single dimension collections - 'how to find name within this collection', and the responses use strings to search through them, but somehow the Info class is being treated differently, and I'm not sure how to translate this..
I am trying to read the pc system information so that I can retrieve the time and date format.
My code below:
Dim Info As System.Globalization.DateTimeFormatInfo
Info = System.Globalization.CultureInfo.CurrentUICulture.DateTimeFormat
Debug.WriteLine(Info.LongDatePattern)
Retruns in debug: "dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy"
So I have 2 questions;
1) Why is there, a dd after the MMMM.
2) My company has small franchise branch offices round the world - France, USA, etc. What I am trying to do is get the date format so I can decide what country I am in - then when I print out the date on my order labels I can change the date format to suit Americans or Europeans etc.
I have an application that gets executed on a windows mobile device using RAPI that outputs the current device type, rom version, and wireless driver version etc.. to a .txt file on the device.My plan is to then pull .txt file over activesync to my pc and then open it up and assign each of those attributes into variables in my application.

I am trying to learn VB.NET and I've written a user entry screen to store and retrieve information. I keep getting this error. I understand that I have to either change the ref value from the calling code, but my problem is where is the calling code? Here is the error I'm getting (the program is underscoring udtTrans in the FileGet line in this segment).
Private Sub viewRecords()
'open the file and read fields of the first record into the textboxes
Try
FileOpen(1, strFilename, OpenMode.Random, OpenAccess.ReadWrite, OpenShare.Shared, Len(udtTrans))
FileGet(1, udtTrans, intCurrentRecord) 'gets first record

I am using a string builder to set up an html table row by row so that it can be emailed. I currently gather my information from the database using a data reader and while dataReader.read, I use stringbuilder.Append to add each cell value to the table.The issue is that after about 200 rows, the html breaks and displays a cell value above the table in the email. I have tried changing the cell padding, but this was not successful.
View 2 RepliesI would like to print an HTML file that I am generating myself, but I want the pages to have the same table header at the start of each page. I think the best options to print an HTML file is the webbrowser control? but this won't give the table header at the start of each page (and I will have to contend with the ugly file://c:empfile.htm at the top of each page etc)
View 1 RepliesI have 2 HTML blocks, with JQuery DateTimePicker. Now after the date is picked (When you click the input box, the datepicker appears, then you click the date, the date appears in the input box, and when you click away somewhere, the datepicker dissapears. Now I need to retrieve that info with VB.Net and ASP.Net. I just changed the HTML input box to Asp.net Textbox. Then added the OnTextChanged function call when the text is changed, and called a function that stores that date into my class.
As such:
Start date:
<asp:TextBox name="startDate" ID="startDate" OnTextChanged="startDate_TextChanged" runat="server" AutoPostBack="True"></asp:TextBox>
I tried to go with asp:TextBox before, but for some reason JQuery didn't work on it.
Need to connect & retrieve from SQL DB in aspx page using vbscript server side. Initially thought of using server side javascript but unsuccessful, can this be done using vbscript?

View 4 RepliesIn VB.NET 2005, what is the best way to retrieve and parse HTML data from a URL, a bit like a search engine crawler?I am building an app, where I need to parse a website, and collate data from it (the website uses some tags that I could pull out to get the appropriate bits of data). I want to be able to do this in a thread, and just update a DB with the data, and give the client app a status update of the progress.

View 1 RepliesI'm using the following code to retrieve a URL and then parse the HTML from the page:
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnStart.Click
Dim Temp As String, searchstr As String
[Code]....
I think my problem is that I don't exactly understand how I am supposed to start and end the parsing. I know that in my above code, the "meta" tag is the start and the chr(34), double quotes, is the ending.
When I modify my code, I have price line, which in th html ends with another character, the ">" sign. In the first code, the "content" tag doesn't end with another character, it just continues the line, which is easy and it works.
I've a HTML page and i need to pass some value to my aspx page.
Since the url got a maximum length 256, i need to use <param /> tag to help me pass values and also get values from aspx.
(the numbers of param is not fix)
I've been searching days for the example how to get this done.
Here is my problem: I need to store HTML in a MySQL database. Afterwards, I need to be able to retrieve the HTML and have it be valid HTML that a browser can render.
How can I store HTML in a MySQL database using .Net? How do I retrieve it afterwards? As this is the design phase, I can create the database any way that is needed.
I need to create a VB.net app that automatically reads a html table. It should connect to a web address (eg "[URL]") and read it. I'll be happy if I could just get the full HTML. I was able to use this code to get the HTML of a regular website:
Dim strReply As String = "NULL"
Dim objHttpRequest As HttpWebRequest
Dim objHttpResponse As HttpWebResponse
objHttpRequest = HttpWebRequest.Create("[URL]")
objHttpResponse = objHttpRequest.GetResponse
Dim objStrmReader As New StreamReader(objHttpResponse.GetResponseStream)
strReply = objStrmReader.ReadToEnd()
This code sample will give me the HTML for the website [URL]. However it will not work with the website I want (eg "[URL]"), because when you access it via regular browser it will popup a browser dialog asking for credentials (user / pass). So when I run the code above for it, I'll get the exception:
The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required.
How do I set this up to use the credentials, before retrieving the HTML? This is actually my first web-related app.
I have a html text file and I am trying to remove any HTML tags in tables, i.e. remove any HTML within THE <TABLE> and </TABLE> tags.
However, what's really weird is that the regex that I use, (?<=<table((?!</table).)*)<(?!/table)[^>]+>, works perfectly in PowerGREP or EditPad Pro, however, when applied in vb.NET (or Expresso) to the VERY SAME text, it does NOT work! I just use a simple replace method: newString = Regex.Replace(oldString, "(?<=<table((?!</table).)*)<(?!/table)[^>]+>", string.Empty, RegexOptions.IgnoreCase)?
Below is the example text:
texttexetext
<TABLE>
<TAG1>

How to retrieve the absolute coordinates of an HTML or CSS element from the webbrowser control using Visual Basic? I am using VB 2008 Express Edition. I would like to be able to display the control in my application and then using the HTML Document Object Model (I guess?!) get the X and Y coordinates (top, left, bottom, right) of a DIV or other HTML tag.
View 2 Replieswhy the code below fails to retrieve the html

What I would like to do is to find a way to get the results from a HTML/Javascript script in a string, using VB 2010.To make it clean on a practical case, I would like to get, in my VB application, the results provided by the run of the following external script:The resulting string should be something like this :
"document.write('<'+'style type='text/css'>#TCGPHiLoContainer {width: 300px;font-family: Arial;}#TCGPHiLoTable {width: 300px;margin-bottom: 3px;}.TCGPHiLoHeader {font-size: 8pt;text-align: center;}.TCGPHiLoHigh {background-color: #D9FCD1;color: Black;font-weight:
