When I select a beginning date on my MonthCalendar control it blinks real quick and then reloads,I am pretty sure this is not a normal behavior?code to select bolded dates and set beginning date and set controls with date range:
Me.txtStartDate.Text = Me.MonthCalendar1.SelectionStart.ToShortDateString
Me.txtEndDate.Text = CStr(Me.MonthCalendar1.SelectionStart.AddDays(27))

I created a monthcalendar usercontrol and calling it from a parent form (in this case, click on button to populate the textbox beside it). Two questions.
1. How do I return the selected date back to the parent textbox?
2. How do I bring the monthcalendar usercontrol to the front and back of other objects?

I'm Using MonthCalendar Control in my Form to select Multiple Dates. (for eg. 1st April,20th April,25th April). I'm planning to Change the date the user clicked by making it BOLD during run time, so that i can retrieve the results in a Date array. [code] MessageBox clearly shows the date selected, but no effect for the "addboldeddate'.

I've seemed to found some interesting behavior with the stock MonthCalendar control. I've set the MinDate property to 1/1/1990 but when I try to actually select a date anywhere previous to 1/1/2000 it jumps to 12/31/2999 why is that?
I've tries manually setting it to 4/8/1998 and it jumps to 4/8/2998 which isn't what I would expect a calendar control to do. Is there a reason it keeps it within the 21st century?

I am trying to get the date parts selected by a user on the MonthCalendar control. I know how to set the date, thanks to some help from this forum. Now I have run into another problem. I need to be able to take the MONTH, YEAR and DAY selected by the user. I have tried this example I saw, but it does not work, mmDay = CalendarMonth.Tex.ToString("d").

i am having problems getting my calendar to work, passing a start and end date for a rental car and displaying on the form the number of days chosen and the amount for the total. This is the first form problem I have done. I cannot see what I am doing wrong. It does not figure number of days and the amount just stays zero.

I would like to be able to either: (1) Pick a date from the Monthcalendar box and have it insert that day into a textbox showing in a format of Day of week, Month/Day/Year or Day of week, mm dd yyyy. or in option #2 be able to enter in the date by mmddyyyy and get Day of week, mm dd yyyy showing in the textbox.

I am using MonthCalender control in vb.net to select a date. I am able to save the selected date to DB and also retrieve and bold the previous selected date. But even though date is bolded it is not displayed when the form loads. It still highlights today's date. What Do i do to highlight the previous chosen dates. Also i want to disable choosing date range.

I want to enter Year, Month & Date in a separate TextBoxes to get a Function work as these 3 have to be given as parameters for that Function. I have a month calendar on a form. It is showing 2 months, when I select the start date for a range of dates, the month calendar blinks for about 1 second. Here is the code that gets the start date, sets the end date (28 days later), then assigns a date to the text of 28 checkboxes by looping through the control collection.[code]

I am developing a VB application using the Visual Studio 2008 IDE. I was making changes to my code using the Quick Replace function when the dialog window stopped displaying. Selection of Quick Find or Quick Replace from the Edit menu, as well as use of shortcut keys (CTL+F and CTL+H) all have the same affect: the IDE loses focus but no dialog windows display. Is this a known issue with an available fix?

I am using a monthcalendar control in my application to allow a user to select a day from the calendar that will load data for that day. the background is totally white (ugh). there is a backcolor property, but when i set it to say Cyan (yea right), the calendar still displays as white. I also can not set Forecolor, TitleBack/Fore color either.
I have gone to my project properties and turned off the "enable xp visual styles", and that had no effect. turned it back on...cant tell a difference. i am currently on windows 7 running VS2008 Team Edition. It would be really nice to change the look of this control to match the styling of my application.

Now my problem is that when I run my application on XP then the view of monthcalendar control changes. How can I ensure that my program function can only run once a time per day? I wonder how did those commercial software that did something like 30 times/days trial. How did they store the value in the sense that altering the system date and time would not prolong the trial. Currently I am thinking of validating the date through internet time since it can't be alter by user. After which, I will store the value online. However, this does not seems to be feasible if its an offline application. I wonder is the any other better way to do it?

[code]For some reason I cannot change the color properties for the MonthCalendar control.[code]No matter what I change it to, it stays to its default color of white and black. Actually none of the color options work on any of the sections of the control.I am trying to hide the white border around the control and but a blue bar under the name of the month (top section).I have tried deleting the control and creating it anew on the form but no luck.It was working a couple of weeks ago.

The problem that I'm having is that when I try to select a different date, the text doesn't go away. That may make no sence, but let me tell y'all what I've done.
1: Created a GroupBox
2: Put a DateTimePicker in the GroupBox
3: Put TextBoxs in the GroupBox
4: Changed the DateTimePicker to look like this:
A)Checked - False
B)Allow Drop - True
I thought that if I changed that, then the text in the text box would go to that specific date. It didn't do that, it just stays the same. What I'm trying to do is enter text in say 3/7/11 and when I choose date 6/12/12 it will display blank text boxes for me to enter something different.

I started programming in VB2008 couple of weeks ago (I'm using the express version) and I'm getting stumped by this ridiculously simple problem. I am trying to retrieve varying parameters from an external application and display their values in real time on a windows form control e.g. a label or text box. I already know what class and methods to reference for that, however I can only display instantaneous values (unless I use a .click event handler, but thats foolish I want them displayed without my intervention) I tried writing a loop in form load event handler but that prevents the form from loading. I also tried a loop in another module but that doesn't work either.
