I am trying to make a reminder, but i can't figure out one thing. Anybody out there knows how? I would like my reminder to have a function when you select one date it automaticaly adds 2 reminders up to the day of the event. For example if you select the event at date 24 it would automatically add two events at the calendar at the dates 17 and 10.
View 3 Repliesbeen a long time since i came to the forum. i use to program a lot in vb6 but its been a long time since i did it so im really rusty. now that im trying to get back to programming, im finding it a bit of a challenge in vb2008... i have this question, im using a datetimepicker control to select dates in a calendar. what im trying to do is disable the textbox in the datetimepicker so that the user can only use the drop down calendar to select the date and not enter the date manually! does any one knows how to disable the textbox in the datetimepicker but still be able to select a date from the calendar???
View 4 RepliesWriting a little program for my wife and thought it would be cool to have the calendar auto select the next day of her choice when she opens it. Example it's Monday and she opens the program to make notes about things for her girly get together every Thursday. Right now she opens it and has to select the next Thursday first to get the date.
What i thought would be cool is if the program picks the next Thursday for her, in the future the night may change to Tuesday so i don't mind hard coding the selection for now as it wont change all the time.Is there an easy calendar or date picker routine available for this or is it a roll up the sleeves, i searched and not finding anything.

I am have an issue with my between sql string. After testing this i have figured out the problem but don't know how to fix this. When i select two dates i want to get the records between(from two date time pickers) the sql string is taking the day as the month so if i: Input 7/10/2011 the sql between string reads it as 10/7/2011

View 2 Repliesam using sql 2005 and vb 2008.i need to compare dates and select matching records betweem a selected date range.say records between 11/13/2010 and 11/20/2010.e.thing is working ok except when it comes to selecting dates between 11/1/2010 and 11/9/2010.this is happening because when am retrieving the dates from database,its being retrieved in the format 11/01/2010 instead of 11/1/2010 and so it reports no records found,and knowing the limits of sql 2005 this is the only way i can retrieve the date. For the past day or so, I have been trying to compare values in my SQL server against an actual calendar. I have had mixed luck with this and I have exhausted my limited knowledge. I am looking for a shove in the right direction.

I can do this on the SQL side or the code side. I have Linq at my disposal if I need it. The table doesn't need to be compiled by SQL. This will happen dynamically on a website and should be as efficient as possible.I don't want to have to iterate through each and look for breaks in contiguous days if I don't have to.

I am working on a page where I need to highlight different events in a day with different colors in a ASP.NET Calendar Cell. The events are store in a database with a start date column.
For example, if we have two different events for today, the cell should display half green and half red color. If there are three events for today, it would 1/3 green, 1/3 red, 1/3 blue in the cell for today.
In addition, currently I use tooltip in jquery to hover a cell, it would display a tooltip above the cell. How to handle this when we have different events in one cell?
