Setup TableAdapter As Underlined Below Get The Message "is Not Defined"?
May 2, 2010
When I try to set up my TableAdapter as underlined below I get the message "is not defined". Yet the
SubAcctsTableAdapter is the name for the TableAdapter for the form I am trying to open. I am working in the .Net Framework.
I am running a web server using VB.net and I have a bunch of pages that need to utilize similar functionality, so I was thinking of creating a shared base class that incorporates all of this shared functionality. I created a file call it SharedBaseClass.vb, and I also have a class that should inherit from this class, SubClass.aspx.vb. The Top few lines of the the parent class look like this:
Partial Class SharedBaseClass Inherits System.Web.UI.Page
And of the child class that should inherit:
Partial Class SubClass Inherits SharedBaseClass
Then at the top of the SubClass.aspx file it looks like this:
Assume that all of these files are located in the same directory. But when I try to run this, I get an error:Compiler Error Message: BC30002: Type 'SharedBaseClass' is not defined. And then the highlighted error is on the line that reads: Inherits SharedBaseClass I've also tried importing the file to no avail.
Error Message Operator '&' is not defined for types 'String' and '1-dimensional array of Byte'.
Complete Coding:
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim fileSize As Integer Dim rawData() As Byte
ive got some simple problem i cant understand how to solve.
str(1) is an array and integer(or double, tried both) a(1) is an array and integer (or double, tried both) a(1) = a(1) + 1 Label1.Text = str(1) + a
the big part is where i get: operator '+' is not defined for types 'integer' and '1-dimensional array of integer'.why do i get that message and what does it mean? how do i make the code do what i want?
I've got an ASP.NET application that I installed by creating a web setup. I ran into a problem where ASP.NET wasn't registered with IIS so it gave me a "installation was interrupted" message that told me exactly nothing. Anyhow, I finally got it installed, and I can access the main page, but it's telling me that my class isn't defined. The dll is in the same directory as the Default.aspx page Here's the main error information
Compiler Error Message: BC30002: Type 'SIValidator.SIValidator' is not defined.
Source Error:

Is there some obscure setting that may not be set?
i have a try catch set up in my program and a message box that comes after the "End Try". when the message box pops up when an exception is thrown right after the second message box shows how do i stop this from happening?
i want to select the next piece of text which is underlined. You see the rtf of a richtextbox has following code for an underlines text :
uli0 hello friendulnonei
But the normal text looks like underlined. What i want to do is on a click of button the rtfbox should select the next piece of text which is underlined. An example piece of text is :
hello [friend your] house [looks] amazing.
imagine the words within square brackets are underlined. When i first click button1 "friend your" should be selected and on next click "looks" should be selected. Kind of keep moving forward and keep selecting it type of application. I know this can be done using regex but can't build a logic.
i have a simple notepad application where i want a feature of selecting text which is underlined. Usually what happens is when i click a button the app reads a text file and underlines random text in the richtextbox. What i want is on the click of another button to select the text which is underlined. I thought of creating char range, regex all but not getting anywhere. I also dunno how to build a regex.
What i know is since all RTF texts are different we can choose the rtf text instead of simple text to select the underlined text. The rtf of underlined text in my application is this uli0 so manyulnonei where ul and ulnone mark the text as underlined. Now i want to select all such texts which are surrounded by uli0 and ulnonei . I thought of the following method :
1) Create another richtextbox2
2) Paste the text of richtextbox1 as rtf in richtextbox2. I mean show the text in coded rtf (like above) instead of normal rtf.
3) Use simple find to select all the text which is surrounded by ul and ulnone tags
4) process the text.
But this step is very tedious. If anyone could help me in making a simple procedure or build a regex which could process the text surrounded by those tags,
I have a code to print in VB.net. I don't have any problem with the printing as it works, but there is a part which is underlined by green, a warning on "DialogResult = OK". Why the DialogResult = OK is underlined by green colour? The printing work only this underline is making me puzzled
In my windows form, I have a button with a shortcut code using &. It looks like below:
It Text property has the value &Sales Bill - Cash
See that its default styling for the highlighted shortcut code is an underline. Instead, I would like to change that styling to Underline + Bold + Different color
Let assume below will be my richtextbox. This is what I have so far:
Title name 1 Some text. Some more text.
Title name 2 Some text. Some more text.
What I am willing to do now is: Only when you mouse over on underlined text - mouse cursor changes to 'Hand' Then you can click on it and message box appears with underlined text. How do I do these two things?
I am trying to redirect command line output to a list box in a vba macro, and I've found some code that I think might point me in the right direction, but I keep on getting the same error. When I use this code
It gives me the error in the title and highlights the first declaration line. What does it take to define a new "process".
I am trying to create a page where a user can type a document and have it be bold italic or underlined. When the user clicks on bold and italic it should be bold and italic. when they are not clicked it should not be. I am having trouble finding a stable solution. I can only seem to change it to either bold or not bold or italic or not italic and not bold and italic.
I want to create a real setup project for my application so when someone want to download it he can run only setup, not default setup that provide me VB . How can I do that?
I work with C# 99% of the time. However, I'm having to update some legacy VB.Net code and encountering an issue with VB.Net code syntax. The error that I get is "ByRef" is underlined and "Expected Expression" tag shows up when you hover over "ByRef". The "FooDetail.Load" function is written in C# and expects a List object passed as reference. Don't have any trouble using the same function in other C# classes. Can someone indicate what is wrong with below VB.Net code.
Dim FooDetail As New clsFooDetail() FooDetail.FooID = FooID Dim lstFooDetail As New List(Of clsFooDetail) FooDetail.Load(ConnectionString, "Stored Procedure", ByRef lstFooDetail as System.Collection.List(Of(clsFooDetail))
I am using VS 2008 VB and setup my application software in Win XP without any issue. But after installed in Win 7, it doesn't work well (it show one file not found, but I saw the file in the right folder). Could it be the incompatibility of VS 2008 and Win 7? If I upgrade to VS 2010, will the issue be fixed?
I'm a Visual Basic beginner. There are many things that I didn't know about Windows software development as I've been a Mac user for 20 years and just started developing Windows programs several days ago.
Anyway, using Visual Studio Installer (File > Add > New Project > Visual Studio Installer), I have two files inside the Release folder - setup.exe and Setup.msi. I've got some information about these files. So when you publish your software, what do you do with these two files? According to one web site, you can put them together into one with IExpress, which produces a file with an extension of CAB. Another web site suggests SFX Compiler. In the meantime, I downloaded a dozen applications at Download.com earlier. If I click on the download button, the final delivery extension is .exe on most of them. I know that you won't go anywhere by double-clicking on setup.exe from the Release folder without Setup.msi. Meanwhile, Setup.msi is a tand-alone application. But nobody uses this file alone to distribute their product.
I've finally got a project compiled and tested and ready to roll out.I have discovered that the "Publish" option is not what it seems, and that we must create a separate "Setup Project" to carry out the task of installing the files. This is not the most intuitive process I've seen, and the online help on that subject is not easy to understand.I was hoping that someone could direct me to a tutorial or guide that would step me through the specific approach I need. Many of the other guides online are vague and address multiple scenarios and do not separate the approaches very well.I have the contents of my project in /bin/release. It runs nicely by iteself with no errors. Here's what I need:
1. To create a setup exe that I can distribute that will install my software, with all of the supporting (resource) files and folders. 2. I need the setup process to force the installer to "agree" to a EULA. 3. I'd would like to provide an image on the installation screen/popup. 4. I would like the software registered in the registry and rely on it being there in the registry. 5. I need it to default to program filesprojectname (it does by default)
I hv deployed my project using "Setup and Deployment" wizard. I hv installed MS VS.NET 2003 Bootstrapper Plugin -> A plug-in for creating deployment projects in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 that contain the .NET Framework version 1.1 and/or Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) version 2.7. still it is giving the error The setup requires .NET Framework 1.1.4322. Install the .NET Framework and run the setup again. The .NET Framework can be obtained from the web. Would u like to do this now?
create a message box that stores my user name, message, and post datetime into the database as messages are sent. Soon came to realise, what if the user changed his name? So I decided to use the user id (icn) to identify the message poster instead. However, my chunk of codes keep giving me the same error. Says that there are no rows in the dataset.
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load Dim name As String Dim icn As String Dim message As String
Setup and deploy for my project worked fine for a while allowing you to install my program and uninstall the old version, but now it installs two entries. I don't get it, before I got it do do that it would give an error that it needed to be uninstalled first. Now like I said I get two entries in the programs uninstall window. RemovePreviousVersions = true. I change the version number and update the product code. Even tried changing the upgrade code. I just don't get why it doesn't work anymore, and its really annoying! Also, is there a way that the setup file can just be one .exe rather then a setup file and a data file?
how to create an error message by message box to tell the user to enter a number only if they key in a character value?
I MEAN AFTER THEY PRESS THE CALCULATE BUTTON
Private Sub btnCalcFat_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnCalcFat.Click Dim intFat As Integer intFat = Integer.Parse(txtFat.Text) lblResultDisplay.Text = txtFat.Text * 9 End Sub
I have to work in two parallel environments, developement and production, I want to use the same TableAdapter to connect to different databases (two Oracle databases running on different servers) with the very same structure. How is this possible?
