Using VB.NET and SQL Server 2005.In my software I am using login page with UserName and Password. Suppose I am setting a username and password work for 20 days. After 20 days, when I try to login in software, the software should not to allow to login.Is possible to make a SQL query or VB.NET code.any one provide a sample code or query for the username and password should work for particular days?

I have a chat server / client system running, but I want users to authenticate with my vBulletin forum database.I don't want the client to do it, because it is possible to fake the 'successful login' and connect with a fake username. I want to send the username and password details to the server, and make the server check it with the local vBulletin MySQL database for the username and password.Is there a way to do this? To my knowledge vBulletin has a username and a password entries in the database which is salted, and the salt varies from user to user.

I try to make one application that will first show login form (with textbox for username and password) and when I press login client application send request to server side application that make SQL query (local) and return some values and that values will be listed in main form. My code is working but what I need help is, for the code to validate the username and password entered against that stored on the SQL DB backend. Like when the user selectes a wrong username but the password entered is correct, there shld be a messagebox like "The username selected is wrong", or if the username is correct and the password entered is wrong then the msg is "The password entered is not correct, please type you password using the right case".

I have successfully saved account details to a .dat file (username, password, account type).the issue is however, that any username works with any password, for example, if the file were "user1 password1 user2 password2".I would be able to log in using "user1" as the username and "password2" as the password, i think i'm missing something?

I removed the first user and added it to my db after the new user, but it did the same. What can I do to make sure it actually runs through rows in the db and compare the information in the text box with the information in the database?
