I need to create a dotNet saveAs dialog, but I need to populate the file formats in the dialog. After the person have selected a file, it must connect that to a file format that I populate into the SaveAs command in the Excel Interop. After the Interop SaveAs command, I must check if the file have been saved correctly.

i decided to use toolstrip and inserted some buttons but end up that it doesn't do the validation for control and also doesn't call leave event of textbox control.
so my question is, anyway to use regular button functionality for toolstripbutton or there is a way to add regular button on toolstrip.

I want it to be smart, and go to the first if I have no ID in the url, and the second if there is. I got the following error:

It would work, but it doesn't same error. Now I know the simple solution is to call my methods different things, but i don't want to do this. I was also thinking of creating an attribute to prefix the ID method, to check for ID being there, and if it isn't dont allow that method, but I can't get this to work either.
I'm having the exciting task of finding out about VB.NET's <> and Not operators. Not - I'm assuming by my small use of it - is the functional equivalent of ! in languages such as C# and <> being equivalent of !=.
In VB.NET a common problem is doing Boolean expressions against objects that don't have a reference, it appears. So if we do If Request.QueryString("MyQueryString") <> Nothing Then This will actually fail if the query string doesn't exist. Why, I don't know. The way that it's done by older coders is as follows: If Not Request.QueryString("MyQueryString") Is Nothing Then
And this tends to work. To me they're functionally equivalent though operators tend to do different comparisons dependent on certain factors such as operator precedence, why it doesn't work in this case however, I do not know, and neither have I found any relevant material. I ask this as I'm having to write standards documentation and we're determining the use of either the Not or <>.
Are there any naming standards for constants that are different than variables? ex: Const for the prefix of the name.

View 9 RepliesI am trying to add a TabPage containing a UserControl to a TabControl at runtime, because the number of TabPages to add are determined at runtime.
The UserControl (objDataInfo) is just two Textboxes, two labels and two Radiobuttons, nothing too exciting...
The TextBoxes have their Anchor properties set to Left, Up, Right so they scale with the width of the usercontrol.
The TabPages are added in the constructor of the form, which takes the number of tabpages to create (n) as an argument:

How can I convert 02h and 03h to its ascii form. In hyperterminal, I use the sequence {(hold)ALT 0 0 2} on the number pad to send the start bit.

Every line ends in a CrLf - So I know I can use StreamReader and ReadLine(). I did get it to work on one of the test files they sent.(A very Short file) However, the file is not delimited at all and every field is padded to the full length they specified. But I have no certificate to load.I simply need to login, accept their certificate and upload my file.When I accept their certificate am I actually installing it on the client? For example of FileZilla a box pops up and I just click on accept, then my login is complete.

I am currently using the below code to upload a file and display progress. It works fine except there are a few things I would like to do differently.
I am using the main FTP account for my website which has access to all of my files. I set up a different FTP login to use that only has access to a specific folder, but when I try to use it I get: Error 550 No such file or directory or access denied.
This FTP account allows access to: mywebsite.com/upload/users/ only If strFTPAddress = mywebsite.com/upload/users/ I get error 550, I've tried a few other things too and it's told me that it's an invalid URI
Basically what I want to know is if and how I might be able to connect using my second FTP account so that I only have access to the upload/users/ directory.
