Test FormsAuthentication On Authenticationservice Class?
Feb 15, 2010
Ive made a interface with the following methods:
Public Interface IAuthenticationService
Sub SetAuthentication(ByVal username As String)
Sub Logout()
Function IsLoggedIn() As Boolean
End Interface
My implementation looks like:
Public Class Authentication
Implements IAuthenticationService
Public Sub Logout() Implements IAuthenticationService.Logout
[code]....
how can I test my FormsAuthentication on my authenticationservice class. Im using Xunit/Moq for writting my tests. When I Call my action I get an "System.NullReferenceException : Object reference not set to an instance of an object" which tells me that FormsAuthentication object is Null and I therefore can not set my authentication ticket.
I'm enabling an windows identity foundation on an existing webapp. I want to mess as little as possile with the existing code so I would like to the login page which uses formsauthentication left in the application and I just connect with the STS if the user enters the application via a specific page e.g "im_comming_from_some_other_site.aspx".
[Code]...
(Of course some code would be needed when to determine what to do when the authentication is timed out; either go to local login page or goto STS-login page)I know this may seem like a bad design, not going all the way with STS, but I need to implement this ASAP and I want to keep the original site as untouched as possible.
But FormsAuthentication is underlined and the error reads 'FormsAuthentication' is not declared. I've ensured that the System.Web.Security namespace is imported, yet I still receive the message.
I' ve my cookie to Dim authCookie As New HttpCookie(FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName) I've just started learning about cookies not long ago, can I retrieve the cookie that I've set by using the code below?
I have a service class that i want to unit test. The service calls a repository class method in order to save some data. But before I call the save method, I have a validate method that belongs to the service class under test which validates the properies of the class to be persisted as a parameter to the repository save method.I know that to verify that the repository save method is called, i have to mock the repository class and set up the save method, but how do i verify that the validate method belonging to the service class under test is called when unit testing the method under test since they belong to the same class?
I'm struggling with unit testing in my website.So far I have the NUnit framework imported with;[code]How do I call in objects from the other class with all my code to test?If anyone could give me an example of how to test textbox validation,
Within the Company.Project.vbproj assembly, I have a class FriendClass.vb which scope is Friend (internal in C#).Now I wish to test this FriendClass.vb from within the Company.Project.Tests.vbproj assembly. I know about the InternalsVisibleToAttribute, but that is not an option in Visual Basic .NET 2.0, as it is only available with C#, in .NET 2.0 (see here).I would like to create myself a proxy class using this internal FriendClass from within my testing assembly, so that I could instantiate it and do the testings accordingly.
In class i saved my program in with load of other test programs for the same assignment and got everything mixed up i finally figured out what was what and loaded the program in Visual Basic. Now my program doesn't recognize one of my forms when i try to access the design view of it. I hit run for the hell of it and the program runs with errors of course but the form1 "the missing one" shows up with all the buttons etc and i can use it.
and from VB6 project I reference to Test.dll but an error messege was appear A reference to Test.dll file could not be added (If I create VB NET project and reference to file Test.dll it OK )
Probably a dumb question, but can you write a unit test project in one language to test against another project in a different language?I'd like to translate one of our VB assemblies into C#, but want to build unit tests to verify the results. I've tried to set a unit test project up to do this, but I can't seem to access the VB code within a unit test... I can't figure out if I'm just missing/doing something stupid, or it really isn't allowed.
If Class X is within the scope of Class Y, is X a subclass of Y?If Class A is a sub Class of B, then is Class B considered a super class of A?if Class C inherits Class D is Class D a superclass or parent of Class C?if Class E extends Class F then we can consider Class E a child of F?if Class G inherits Class H and is within the scope of Class I then who is the parent of Class G? Classes that inherits Class J and classes that are within Class J are all sub classes of Class J?
I have put this code in the global form Inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form. And then in the form that will inherit this from the global Inherits MenuStrip. "MenuStrip" is what the global form is called. But keep getting this error: Error1Base class 'MenuStrip' specified for class 'Lesson2' cannot be different from the base class 'System.Windows.Forms.Form' of one of its other partial types.
It is in the file ClientProfile I have placed in both App_Code and also App_Code/Models
In my code behind I have the following
[CODE]...
The last word, "ClientProfile" has the scary squiggly red line below it. It is not recognizing my class.Even the Intellisense is not picking up te class. Do I have to register the class file in any way?
Dim a as Type=GetType(className) would gimme the type. But I have only the name of the class as string. I want something like GetType("class1") which would return the type.
I am playing with the virtual machine version of the Google Chrome OS. I need a web app that I KNOW is made in visual basic to test to see if it will work with it or not. This will help determine if it's possible to make web apps for this Google OS in VB.
so I used to mess around with C#, just a little. And someone had helped me make a class for Visual C# that was supposed to do the math parts for "internal structure" - which the program used for a part of its calculations and screen... Basically there were 2 options. Endo-Steel and Standard. The user would use a updownbox to determine weight of the machine and then internal structure was a % of that total. If it was standard then it was 10% of the overall weight, if it was Endo-Steel then it was 50% of standard (so 5% of total weight) rounded to next 0.5 (so .25 was .5, 1.25 was 1.5, 1.75 was 2.0, etc). I have the code for the C# class file for it, but want to make it in VB.
I have a query string called propID and I wanna check if the passed value in it is a legal integer or not to avoid throwing an error that might reveal info about my database, how can I do it? In other words, I want something like -but in vb.net- : IF QueryString("propID").Content.Type = "int32" Then Proceed
Create an app for the DMV that grades the written portion of the driver license exam.Theexam has 20 multiple choice questions. Here are the correct answers to the questions:1=A 2=C 3=D 4=A 5= B 6=D 7= B 8=C 9=A 10=A 11=B 12=B 13=C 14=D 15=C16=A 17=C 18=B 19=D 0=DStore the correct answers in an array. The user interface form should allow the user to enter an answer for each question.When the user clicks the Score Exam button, the application should display a message showing whether each question was answered correctly or incorrectly, and whether the student passed or failed the exam.A student must orrectly answer at least 15 of the 20 questions to pass.Input validation: Only accept letters A, B, C, and D
here is what i have so far: Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
I have a large VB/SQL application that I have created a problem in. I have a table of procedures that have an active flag on them. This flag can be toggled through a user screen. Other screens access this same table to populate dropdowns. The values are stored in the table as the ID field (PK). The problem I have is that I am selecting the dropdown values based on the Active flag. If I select a record that has a procedure stored in it that has been made inactive, I get the old Object Not Set to an Instance.... error.
What I want to be able to do is check for the value in the record when populating the dropdown and allow the record to be displayed by bypassing the SQL error and just showing the dropdown value as blank while not altering the record itself. I hope I'm making sense. Code is below.but I'm back in app programming after being a SysAdmin for 20 years and I'm still rusty.[code...]
How would a person test to see if a usb device is on? I have a program with a usb reader attached to it and would like to throw an exception if it is not on.
I was asked this question recently in a test, which I didn't pass. For the life of me, I couldn't spot what the problem was. It's probably something really obvious as well, but even a colleague of mine couldn't spot it either. The best I could come up with was issues with bottlenecks and naming inconsistencies of parameters! I blame it on the fact I've not done any vb.net for years, I've been doing C# mostly these days

The question: This function, although it will successfully sort a datatable, has a major problem with it.What is the problem? Re-write the function in either C# or VB.Net using LINQ.
