Unable To Add Items Into A Listbox?

So what I'm looking into doing is be able to add items into a listbox (which is easy), and when the user selects an item, depending on the item, it'll update labels which are on the same form as the listbox(not sure how to do), and then the user can "use" the item they've selected, and it's removed from the listbox, UNLESS there are multiple of them.An analogy to make this easier to visualize would be this:
There are two forms, frmMain and frmInventory (where the list box and labels are located).In frmMain, the user gains a potion (in this case, let's say three potions, kill two birds with one stone).

I am using VB.NET (version 2008). I have two types of items populating in a listbox (checked listbox). For example: lets say one is type "A" and other is "Type B". Their names maybe same so if the user sees those items in listbox then he won;t be able to determine their type until he click on them and checks out its properties. I wanted that I add each item to listbox and colour them so that blue for example means type "A" is there and red means the other. So this way I will be able to know at a glance that how many item of what type is present. I guess it may not be possible to do that in a standard checkedlistbox. I am also using component factory's krypton controls which enhance the gui of an application. But I dunno if I can progress using that.

So I want it to remove any text in the list box that has a "Job" in it and just replace it with a blank nothing.
Like if the listbox looked like this
Yardjob
jobsong
redjob
then it would change it to this
Yard
song
red
I also would like a way of removing any blank items from the listbox.

I'm making an application that does some stuff involving the given subject, so this is very crucial to the completion and efficiency of my application.What I'm in need of today is simple (well, "seems" simple). I have one listbox that I want to populate with directories file's names. I don't mean the files inside the directories, but the names of the folders inside the directory.So, I have "c:empdog", I'd click on my button or whatever and search for the directory and I choose "temp", said listbox would show "dog".
UPDATE: Oh, BTW. It doesn't HAVE to be a listbox, it can be anything (IE: Textbox, Labels, Etc.).

Why is this code having the opposite effect? If It's checked in the checkedlistbox it's not check in my view, if it's not check in my checkedlistbox it is checked in the grid.
EDIT: More specifically. The CheckState.Checked is always the opposite. .Checked means it's not checked.

I have an accdb named base.accdb in the root folder of the program. Basically I have several tables in my database and I need to show their values in listboxes (essentially allowing menus to be edited by adding/removing items in the table)I can't figure out how to connect the database (according to my friends/classmates), and i can't figure out how to pull the information from the table.
Ultimately, it would be nice if someone could tell me how I can pull out the information into maybe an array? so that if i add 3 items into the table, then it will create 3 variables in the program and put the values from the table into those variables.

i have a list of items in a listbox and i want to move all of them into another listbox. I'm using a loop to do this but it always generates an exception anytime the loop's counter equals 2. Currently there are only three items in the former listbox. The first and last items are moved correctly except the second.[code]

i want to have 2 listbox. the first listbox is for the Main category and the other one is for the sub category. and by using sql 2005 for the database.
for example my main category for the 1st listbox is
ADIDAS
CONVERSE
NIKE
SKETCHERS
and when i click one of the main categories it will output the sub categories to the 2nd listbox.

i want to add all items from my listbox into a database. the first item has to go into the first row of the table followed by the second item into the second row followed by the thir in that order. I have already created the connection with the database. I now want to write an insert query to insert the items into the table with the sql command in a loop but i don't know how to get each item from the listbox and add it to the insert statement. How can you add items to a listbox on a form? Also this needs to be included so if another item is added by user it will be added directly to database.
Reason i am asking that is my project has to work in cojunction with Oracle Plus.
So far if i remember it is something like

I'm unsure if that is correct but i want the items to appear so the user can select one from list.
I think you have to include a data reader but don't mind that i can handle that. All i want is to add items to listbox when form loads.
