Apr 6, 2012I updated to VS 2010 sp1 and also did web standard update but unabel to see html5 and css3 in WebBrowser,what should i do so that my WebBrowser (HTML Viewr) shows css3 style?

Feb 8, 2012I've build a small web app for the iPad which I was hoping to be able to run offline by using the manifest cache but I can;t get it to work.I am serving the cache-manifest file as a MVC view and setting the content type to text/cache-manifest. The manifest get's processed but doesn't add any items to the cache. Using Firebug I've tried to view the window.applicationcache but it's empty. Must be missing something obvious!The head of my HTML page looks like this

Html5 - Make Web Browser Control Communicate With Program
May 29, 2012What I am looking for here is a way to possibly click a button inside a web browser control and have it call a sub from inside the program or have the program react to something on the page. I am trying to make a HTML5 GUI for my application. I don't really want use any 3rd party API's to handle commands from a HTML5 interface but if I can find another alternative that would be good. But if there is no other way I would be content with using a 3rd party API.

Even in the count of any html controls it displays me 0. The page contains two frames and there is no "iFrames". Has Javascript got do anything with this?

Aug 10, 2010I am writing a few web based apps which will require a webbrowser extension. I have already used the IE webbrowser control that uses the trident web rendering engine. I believe this is MSHTML.DLL? Anyway, some of the users of my programs have complained of a few things. Particularily,
1. It seems to be a slow browser, at least compared to other rendering engines out there (webkit and gecko are 2 known ones).
2. On the developer side, it seems to be low in features. The features are sufficient in most cases, but there are some "special" things that I need.
3. It has VERY low HTML (and especially HTML5) compliance.
My question is, how much work would it take to use a different engine (such as webkit .net, which I HAVE heard of) and be able to distribute it easily. Or, if you guys feel ambitious, we could try writing a brand new engine ourselves. I know how big of a job it is, and frankly, I have no clue where to begin. I would just like your thoughts and opinions on the matter.

We are using this control to open excel documents. Webbrowser.ShowSaveAsDialog() allows the user to save the excel workbook open at any location he wants
However, I don't want the user to decide where to save. Is there any way to save an excel document from the webbrowser control without going through the ShowSaveAsDialog?
On closing of webbrowser, a simple prompt to user whether he/she would like to save changes should be fine enough
As of now, I can close webbrowser control and it does not prompt the user to save the changes. Actually, all changes are lost until and unless I perform a save (Ctrl+S) manually

Nov 2, 2009I have a form that is first displayed as 425 x 66. When you press a button, the form expands to 425 x 398 and a message appears (a label prooperty) with the text: Processing Files. When the files are finished prosessing, a listbox appears and summarizes which records were added to the database.
The label begins as Not Visible. After I change the size of the form, I change the label property to Visible.
This used to work, but now, for some reason, the text simply doesn't appear.
I tried changing the lblproperty to Visible at startup but when I do this I get a black bar where my lable should appear.

I'm able to run the program and generate ralated reports at the development PC BUT when I installed it on a server, the system seems not runing at all (no report being generated) and without any error. I tried to install it at another 2 different servers and having the same result...no report being generated and without any error.When I installed it at a PC (NOT server), the system able to generate reports.

I have tried default Visual studio's ADD REFERENCE features. then I have tried tlbimp.exe but it doesn't work.[URL]..I have search a lot about dll, some says "Check the dll header" and CLI Header. I opened this fine in notepad and I found only like "This will not work in DOS mode...". what to do next. Is there any way I can consume this file in .net.
I have already tried to add it as reference in Visual Studio 6.0 VB. even it says this is not a valis library.
Still dumpbin.exe is listing the function inside that dll.
I am confused about this scenario. Please guide me what to do with thi.

However, when I add a call to InitMyControl to my control's code and try to load the form on the test project, the following error shows up:
