XY Coords From Mouse Click?

Sep 20, 2010

I am working with a PictureBox and trying to click on the picture and OnClick i want to capture XY coord from the cursor.

I am using the following code

Private Sub PictureBox1_MouseClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles PictureBox1.MouseClick
Dim X As Long

[Code]....

The issue i have is that no matter where i click on the picturebox it returns a 0 for both the X and Y coordinates.

I read something somewhere about seting the Scale to Pixel but that doesnt seem to be working for me.

VS 2008 - Changing Mouse Position Coords Based On Form?

Oct 18, 2011

Basically I want to move my mouse to the coords that is received based on the location of a certain coloured pixel. I can get the coords of the pixel but when using them on mouse position, the mouse position is based on the entire screen rather than the form. How could I change the position coords based on the form rather than the entire screen. E.G. If a certain coloured pixel is 2,2 in a form and I put that as the mouse position, it would go outside the form but I dont want that. I want it to hover of the pixel coords

This is my
Dim bmp As Bitmap = DirectCast(PictureBox1.Image, Bitmap)
For x As Integer = 0 To bmp.Width - 1
For y As Integer = 0 To bmp.Height - 1
If bmp.GetPixel(x, y) = (Color.FromArgb(108, 90, 60)) Then
Windows.Forms.Cursor.Position =
End If
Next

VS 2008 : Send A Mouse Click To A Window That Seem To Not Accept Them?

Mar 25, 2010

how do you send a mouse click to a window that seem to not accept them? I have tried sendmessage/postmessage, mouse_event and sendinput. None of them seem to work. Whenever the target window is in the foreground, i cant set the cursor position or do mouse_event click at all. But once it went to the back, everything works... cursor.position moves the mouse, sendinput and mouse_event can click on a different window, just not the one i want.

Web Cam XY Coords Of Dot

Jul 22, 2010

I'm working on a project for personal use. I have a web Cam where I took out the lens and replaced it with Blue and Red Cellophane, to filter out light.

The web cam is fed into VB and an infrared (IR) light is shined into the web cam from different positions.

This produces a Black image with a bright white dot moving around.I would like to know if there is a way to get the Dots coordinates (or any other way to measure relative movement from the first dot).[code...]

Would it be viable to take snapshot of webcam's video and search with this engine? (I assume testing is the only way which I am about to try...)

X-y Coords Of MenuStrip Item?

Dec 20, 2010

I want to show a ContextMenuStrip beneath a MenuStrip item when that item is clicked. Stuff in the ContextMenuStrip changes dynamically. The ContextMenuStrip is used in a DataGridView. I don't want to duplicate the same items in the MenuStrip.

I can get the mouse coordinates OK, but I don't want that. I want to use the ContextMenuStrip show method referenced to a control. An item in the MenuStrip is not a control, but the entire MenuStrip is a control. If I can get the x-y position of the item in the MenuStrip I can show the ContextMenuStrip in the right place, and it will look just as if it was part of the MenuStrip. how to obtain the location of the MenuStrip item that's active.

Mouse Movement In Specific Window?

Jun 15, 2010

if its possible to have mouse events like mouse movements, mouse clicks and so on in a specific window only. I'm not sure if you understand this so ill give you an example.

Okay lets say i want this program to only click within a window like Firefox or windows media player only. So that means if i minimize the window it will still click inside that window while its minimized, and i could continue doing other things while its clicking inside that window.

Tile Game: Converting Pixels To X/y Coords

May 5, 2009

So now I'm working on the map editor for my game. The map itself displays 32x32 pixels out from the upper and left bounds of the form. Each tile is also 32x32. So then i have two labels which display the corresponding coordinates divided by 32, this way it would show you x: 7, Y: 8, or whatever. The issue is that the map will be like 15x10, and when moving the mouse to the 15th row/column, it shows 15, but then moving to the 14th row, still shows 15. The rest of it works fine. Here is the code.

Private Sub FrmDesign_MouseMove(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles Me.MouseMove
If e.X < (subZone.Width * 32) + 32 And e.X > ((subZone.Width * 32) -

VS 2008 Finding A Specific Row And Specific Columns In Data Base File (Access)?

Jul 24, 2011

I wonder if it is possible to find a specific row and specific columns in data base file (Access) . You see , I am using a DataGridView control to show only SOME of the columns (fields) of a table from an Access file . For example , lets say that in the DataGridView control I only show the following fields :Field1 , Field2 and Field3 .Now , when the user selects an entry in the DataGridView control , I want to insert the text from Field4 into a text box on the form .

The problem , however , is that I don't know how to get the specific row in the data base file and also I don't know how to get the text in column (field) Field4 of that row .One thing that might be important is that the index of the row in the data base file is not necessarily the same with the index of the current row in the DataGridView control . This is because in the DataGridView control the rows are order by the contents in the ID Field .ol .

Insert A New Right Click Context Menu Item To The Existing Right Click Context Menu For The Active Window?

May 15, 2010

VB express 2008 .net 3.5 or .net 4.0 VB express 2010?I have written application to convert RTF to HTML. The main Purpose of the application is to copy VS code to the clipboard and covert it then put it back into the clipboard as a HTML Document so that it can be pasted into a HTML document such as Windows Live Mail. I found that code copied and pasted is spaced out in in the wrong positions.

The applications works perfect with no bugs so far. I then asked Myself how to go about doing the copy with the least amount of operator interaction. So I added an Icon to the Icon Tray with a right click menu to use to convert once the Rich Text Format was copied to the clipboard. This works fine except you have Five steps, Select the text, Copy to clipboard, Right Click the icon, Select the Converter and Paste. The normal is three steps.

To this the best solution is to add a context menu item to the active form such as the RTF editor or window. So that when you select the Rich Text to copy and right click on the form to bring up that menu then to Just Select the menu Item such as "Copy RT and Convert" I searched and found about 544000 Items and tried to restrict down to no avail. I read until I finally gave up. I did not find any code examples of this. Almost every thing I found related to the web or some other explicit document like Excel and not to the Various windows that could be active with RT in it.

how do you add a context menu item to the context menu of an active rich text format window such as WordPad or VB?I have test in my application that tests to see if it is a RTF in the clipboard so if it is not the converter does nothing.
