Error 11 Unable to copy file "objDebugCAMDRS.Library.dll" to "binCAMDRS.Library.dll". The process cannot access the file 'binCAMDRS.Library.dll' because it is being used by another process. CAMDRS.Library.
After closing Visual Studio 2005 and reopening the solution I can compile again successfully. This is an old solution that has been fine for a long time. I just recently changed computers and reinstalled everything.I am running win XP Pro sp2, Visual Studio 2005 sp1.

The combobox and buttons loads after the contents of an Excel file is loaded into the application.However if the form is resized before the loading, the position of the combobox and the buttons changes even though all the controls are locked. These are two code blocks from the two programs I have wrote. The first is the server program that receives a connection and writes the file to disk. The second is the Client program that sends the file to the server to be written to disk.As it is - it hangs. I did once get it to write to the disk - but the file was twice the size of the original. what objects to use for transferring a file over a TCP IP network connection with TCPClient and TCPListener.

I have a program I wrote that copies select files from one remote computer to another.
The set up I for testing is, one computer(a) at home running the program connected to my work's network via VPN and two computers(b,c) at work side by side on the same network. I am trying to copy the files on computer b to computer c, while the program is running on computer a.
The only thing wrong with this is, the files seem to be caching to a temp folder on computer a then going to computer c. When it should be going straight from computer b to computer c. Is there a way to keep the files from trying to cache on the computer running the app?
I'm having trouble with copying file with permission. In my program, my objective is just to copy a file to another directory, however I'm having some permission problems with "Access to path denied" error appearing when I run the program. I'm logged on in the computer with an Administrator account, and I kept having that error. I can manually copy the file, with UAC dialog box popping up. (I'm using Server 2008, I don't want changing UAC settings/permissions in the computer)
how can I copy a file to another directory, with an administrator permission? Is this possible? Can you give me a sample code.

2. One thread I found suggested that it is a bug, but if true is this something that has been introduced recently (I'm not aware up updating VB2005 unless it happened as part of the general updates).
3. How do I get it back to where it was?
The file is actually locked by my own process, no other application can be using it. I've even tried it with a few line noddy program. I always have to come right out of the IDE, wait a couple of minutes and then go back in - a total productivity killer.
I am wondering how I can replace a file locked by another application. I am using VB.NET from 2008.
View 4 RepliesI have developed a program that allows drag and drop pictures using the followng [code] this will display the image in the pictruebox and saves the location of the image to a database. at this time i can rename the image in windows using the file.rename() function.now if i exit and come back into the section of the program with the image.i query the database for the image location and use the same type of code aka ploc [code]Now when i try to do a rename of the file i get an error that says access denied. I have even tried changing images, but as long as i am in the program i get access denied.I also can not change or delete these file from windows as long as my application is runningfile.rename() Is there a way to force my program to stop using this picture so i cand rename or delte it?

The error goes away when Visual Studio is restarted, but when the Windows Form Designer refreshes (there are some forms in the DLL), the error comes up when the project is built.

My vb program r connected to mdf file to allow update, view n delete of database data. The mdf file is located at the in folder. the problem is whenever I run the program, it will automatic copy the mdf file from the in folder to inDebugin folder. All the update n delete is then done on the mdf file located at inDebugin. When I run the program again, it will copy the mdf file from in and overwrite the mdf file at inDebugin. I try to delete the mdf file at in folder but error saying "unable to copy mdf from in to inDebugin".
