Compiling Error. Unable To Copy File From Bindebug To Bindebug?
Jan 27, 2012
I am relatively new to vb.net and so I apologise in advance if I omit any important details from this post. Please point out how I can better ask the question if you think I can.For some reason when I try to compile my code I get this error:
Error 1 Unable to copy file "C:Documents and SettingslocaluserDesktopEwESourcesPDistributeinDebugPDistribute.exe" to "binDebugPDistribute.exe". Could not find file 'C:Documents and
I installed the new one. I then imported an old project made using vb 2008 EE.I found that a few errors were reported. In the project I addressed some function from a dll called "rsource.dll". I used the following function call:Public Declare Function rs_init Lib "rsource.dll" Alias "init" () As Double. The other different thing is the projevt was developed on a 32 bit OS but since then I have upgraded to 64bit (if this makes any difference). he other thing is where is the debugger PAUSE button. has it been removed from vb 2010?Also when i run debug it seems to create the exe in the Build output target folder instead of the default bindebug folder why is this?

After that i am keep getting this odd error message. I played with the permissions for a while but still nothing.
In one of my forms witch I imported from VB2008 there are all properties saved in the *.resx file. One Property, of the Type System.Windows.Forms.Keys, can contain the Value 'Ctrl+F1' witch compiles fine in VB2008, but not in VB2010. To reproduce, simply add the following to any resx file:
I am doing project in vb.net .i am getting above error.Unable to copy file & access to file path is denied. When i close project & open it again it starts normally & suddenly for one build same error comes.
The error goes away when Visual Studio is restarted, but when the Windows Form Designer refreshes (there are some forms in the DLL), the error comes up when the project is built. Goldfish64
I get the following error when I try do build my application: Error 1 Unable to copy file "objReleaseSelectControl.xml" to "binReleaseSelectControl.xml". Access to the path 'objReleaseSelectControl.xml' is denied. SelectControl
What is XML? I'm writing code in VB for a windows application. I don't want any XML in my code. So why would I get some stupid error about XML? I have never written anything in XML and have no plans to do so.Again there is no solution in micorsofts stupid documentation.
I am trying to copy a file from 1 location to other location with a new name. The new name should be like "Oldname + date & time". I wrote the following code but getting error that the Given path format is not supported Imports System.IO[code]...
Any tips on what is making the project so slow. I have about 5 report server projects, and about 3 other projects. One for My Generation and another Base Class project with one form. My machine is a 2.0 Intel with 1 gig of ram.
Some times hitting enter causes a huge delay or selecting a chunk of code (10 - 20 lines) and doing a ctrl-c causes a huge lag and then again when I do a paste. Trying to debug by step thru no longer lets me do edit and continue. I get the error "Cannot currently modify this text in the editor. It is read only"
Compiling a 6 meg project after simple changes takes a minute or two to come up.Is it a sourcesafe issue? References? Mcafee Anti virus?
I am in the process of building an application using VS2010 VB.NET. After Compiling my code and running the app, I got the following error:

When I load my solution and compile it after first starting the IDE, everything works as expected. After changing source and recompiling, I get the following compile error:
Error 11 Unable to copy file "objDebugCAMDRS.Library.dll" to "binCAMDRS.Library.dll". The process cannot access the file 'binCAMDRS.Library.dll' because it is being used by another process. CAMDRS.Library.
After closing Visual Studio 2005 and reopening the solution I can compile again successfully. This is an old solution that has been fine for a long time. I just recently changed computers and reinstalled everything.I am running win XP Pro sp2, Visual Studio 2005 sp1.

Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition. I completed a few projects earlier this year and have just returned to build a new project and find that I am getting an error on the build. I get the following message: Unable to output file '<Projects location><Project_name>objDebug<Project_name>.exe'. Could not execute CVTRES.EXE.
I also get this message on projects I have completed previously. I have reinstalled (repair) and then un-installed and reinstalled Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition to no avail. I also notice that Help topics such as Technical Support and Check for Updates give the following response: The operation could not be completed. I am unaware of any changes to the environment that could have caused these errors.

I did a search for "How do I implement Serial COM Port communications? and found a response by Xiaoyun Li which was last posted on April 10, 2009. Xiaoyun's response included sample code. My intent has been to get a clean compile on the sample code, then test it, then expand the code into a real application. I am down to a single error message, which I can't figure out how to resolve: "Method 'Public Sub DoUpdate()' does not have a signature compatible with delegate 'Delegate Sub EventHandler(sender As Object, e As System.EventArgs)'." [code]I marked where the error occurs in the code with *** to the right of the error line. The code is attached to a simple form, Form1 which contains a single text box, TextBox1.It appears to me that the code needs a Delegate statement, but I can't figure out how to code it or where to put it.d.
