Here are some important facts:
This code works (no Error 1004 on numerous laptops and desktops) A couple of months ago it began to fail (Error 1004 reared it's ugly head) on a couple of machines. The users claim that nothing changed - I can neither confirm nor deny accuracy of these claims. All users, except one, are running Windows XP and Office 2003. The problem also surfaced on a new machine running Windows XP and Office 2007. I could not force the error on my development/test machine - Windows XP with Offic 2003. It fails every time on another machine I have running Vista with Office 2007
The following is the code that causes me the problem. I know the error is raised on the WB.Save statement. I added the error trap to eliminate the problem of the Excel file being unaccessable without a reboot, due to the fact that Windows thought Excel still had it open.
Public Sub ExportCostAnalysis(ByVal RunMode As String)
On Error GoTo ErrorHandler
As dao.Recordset

find items, they get added to your inventory. But the problem is is that what you have say like 3 items in your inventory, and you close the application, all the items will go away because there's no way to save. So how would I make like the program to where it saves like a .DLL file (preferably .DLL not .TXT so users cant edit easy)? Is there a way to do this like maybe when they get an item, it

I work on 1 application which have included MS SQL database. So far, i manage to connect my database and putt it on form with Infragistics UltraWinGrid, create report in Stimulsoft Raports and also export all data from grids in Excel. All that work well, only problem that I have is to save data in grid. To be precise, after i update datas in runtime, and click save, my msgbox show that data is saved but after rerun in database is only datas that i putt manually trough SQL Manager. I have no clue how to save data in runtime, and after second rerun to show me data i putt in runtime. [Code]

I created a database in access 2007, linked it to my project in visual studio 2008 (vb). When I enter some data using the UI, it does not save it in the database, and it's gone as soon as I run the program again. I dragged the textboxes from the datasource panel, onto the UI..
this is the code that was automatically generated by vs for the save button:
Private Sub StaffBindingNavigatorSaveItem_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles StaffBindingNavigatorSaveItem.Click
Me.Validate()
Me.StaffBindingSource.EndEdit()
Me.TableAdapterManager.UpdateAll(Me.GartisDataSet)
End Sub

I'm currently attempting to save data inputed into a data grid clicking the "save" button. My problem is, I also have another DB opened in the same window that also needs to be saved. The second database is pulled up by the contents of a text box, so there for it has no real Dataset to call on. It looks something like this.
[Code]...
I try to run the update command it always throws the exception "Cannot find table 0" or "Update unable to find TableMapping['Table'] or DataTable 'Table'." I tried declaring the connection the same way as the code above and then simply calling the da.update(ds) but it wouldn't do anything.

how to save information into a text file from runtime VB2005. However, I wish to be able to write the information into any kind of form of file that cannot be simply opened and read by anyone (such as text file can be). Is there anyway that VB2005 can do this?

SaveFileDialog1.ShowDialog()

Error occurred in the highlighted line as "Exception from HRESULT: 0x800401A8". I cannot analyse the cause for this error. because in before case it works fine for the same code i used.

I am new to VB. I was trying to insert a record into access database with data reader. I was getting OVERFLOW error at runtime. My understanding is that overflow error occurs when we assign values that to variables that exceeds the maximum size of the data type.
Following is my code

Dim RowArray() As String = Split(Me.lblRow.Text)
Dim intPrice As Integer
Dim decTotalPrice As Decimal
Dim mySQL As String

I have created a dll using class library project in Visual Studio 2010. I want to access this dll in Excel using declare statement. I have declared my dll entry function with "public shared".
While executing my routine in excel VBA i receive a runtime error "Runtime error:453 cannot find dllentrypoint" I have never created a vb dll, so forgive me if I'm wrong. I am thinking that "shared" declaration isnt sufficient and should use a def file like with C/C++ dlls. I couldnt find the linker option in properties.

Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition. I completed a few projects earlier this year and have just returned to build a new project and find that I am getting an error on the build. I get the following message: Unable to output file '<Projects location><Project_name>objDebug<Project_name>.exe'. Could not execute CVTRES.EXE.
I also get this message on projects I have completed previously. I have reinstalled (repair) and then un-installed and reinstalled Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition to no avail. I also notice that Help topics such as Technical Support and Check for Updates give the following response: The operation could not be completed. I am unaware of any changes to the environment that could have caused these errors.

I have a form with a listbox that when the form is opened I need it to display info from a file. I don't know what would be easier to work with Excel or a txt file, but it is in this format:
Phillip Frank
3/19/1990
3
999-555-8618[code].......
I would like it to populate the list box when the form is loaded, but if I have to use a button to tell it to load that is fine also.On the same form I have 4 textboxes that ask for each of the above items (name, DOB, Level, PH#) and a button that when pushed I want it to save it to the same file where the above info was pulled from in the same format.The Show Contacts button doesn't have to be used if it is not needed.
