[2008] Separate Form Come Up When Click To Edit The Favorite
Feb 21, 2009
i'm working on a favorites system for my webbrowser an I think I know how I can do it. I was planning on having a seperate form come up when you click to edit the favorite you would type your URL and display text there and then when you click the favorite in the dropdown box on the other form in would navigate to the webbrowser you specified. My problem is that it dosn't seem to recognize the text box becuas its on a differnt form. Is there a way I can declare that text box on the first form? And also How do I make the text in that text box stay there until someone changes it when I click ok it dissapears.
I have a few forms that have a lot of really intensive updating along with a great deal of user interface (text boxes, button clicking etc) Is it possible to open a separate form as a separate UI thread from the start up form that called it to "show" or open or whatever the new method might be?
I am looking for a code that can help me Disable Refresh Entry from Right Click Context Menu. One more thing is with refresh Menu entry I want to make a search in Context menu and if there is an entry name = abc than I want to disable it too. So any idea how to proceed. So far I have gathered this information that this command can help me, but as am a newbee in .NET.[code]
I'm Creating a wrapper dll for my favorite Windows API functions. Normally when windows API calls fail, Nothing happens and you don't know why and this frustrates me. Although you can use their return value to determine If it was successful.
I did a super simple calculator with ASP.net with five buttons: add, subtract, multiply, divide, clear. There are five separate functions for each button's click event. For example: Sub addfunction(ByVal s As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs)If Not IsNumeric(input1.Text) Or Not IsNumeric(input2.Text) Then resultLabel.Text = "You entered an invalid or missing number"
[Code]...
How might I be able to combine all 5 of these functions into one? So for example, all the onclicks will refer to the same function, but will somehow be able to determine which button was clicked? I forget a lot of VB.net from a year.
I have 50 buttons on my form and have to write code for click of all that buttons. So my question is do I have to write separate codes for every button click event:
How do i load the Main form of a WPF so that a seperate thread goes and gets data from the database while the form is in an apartmentstate? (drag-able / movable) I Know this is possible with opening a new window from your main form like this :
Private Sub openOrderWindow() Dim OrderWindow As Orders = New Orders OrderWindow.ShowDialog() End Sub
[code]....
I've tried putting MyBase.ShowDialog() and .Show() and .9000+ other things The only benefit I've got out of using a seperate thread to load from the databse is i can see the screen right away (as oppose to it being a transparent box until it loads) but i cannot move it around or minimize it?is there any way to make it Movable while it loads?
I have an application that loads a web page then allows the user to edit that page by setting the Webbrowser control to EditMode. What I am trying, so far unsuccessfully, to do is trap when a user right clicks on a link already on the web page. The problem I have is that although I can trap the right click using MouseDown and GetElementFromPoint, if the link that is clicked is nested within a higher level element then the higher level element is returned by GetElementFromPoint not the nested element.[code]When the user right clicks, say, the link with test2.html my current code returns the DIV element not the A element. How can I understand which of the A elements the user clicked.[code]
Is it possible to do a multiple records editing by linqtosql method in one click event? What I've been trying to do is to edit all the names in the table which are having the same account number. I was able to edit but only one name has been edited and the rest are not.
The codes I used. Private Sub Button2_Click(------------) Handles Button2.Click Dim accnt As String accnt = Textbox1.Text Dim db As New memrecDataContext() Dim editrecord = From mem In db.Table1s [Code] ......
Why is it these codes could only edit records in one datarow?
i have 3 textboxes and 3 columns in listview like names ProductCode, ProductName and Price. i save the textbox values to Listview columns. Now i want to that when i double click on any row in listview these values will be editable in the textboxes again for edit mod.
I have an application that saves details to then be viewed in a datagridview on another form. Clicking on an entry in the datagrid (I want to make this double-click, but haven't bothered to try yet) highlights the row, and loads the values to a new form, in read-only text boxes. Clicking Edit changes the read-only value of these text boxes and allows you to edit (obviously) the contents. I have another button, Save which I want to click to commit the changes to the loaded items in the datagrid.
I have this:vb Private Sub ImageShop_DoubleClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.DoubleClick openFile.ShowDialog()End Sub Which is supposed to show my dialog box when someone double clicks on the form, but that doesn't work.
I have a menu item that is single click, and that works fine. Why doesn't the double click work when someone double clicks on the form?
I have migrated to Vb.Net - Previously in VB6 I could write code in Form2 that Clicked some button code on Form1 (usually when I clicked the exit button on Form2). The idea was to update a listbox on Form1 and refresh the Form1. I used something like:
Form1.Command1 = True Form2.Hide
Is there a similar feature in VB.NET? This short code had the effect of clicking Button1 on Form1.
I am trying to prevent a form from being moved or resized by the user. I am able to do that IF the user double clicks the form (I basically resize the form to full screen, andreposition it to 0,0). This is loads of flickering, but it works. However this seems to only work if the user double clicks the form. After loading, if you grab to top bar, you can move it.
I'm trying to get this code to save the list when a new website is added, how do I get a list of collections to save a link that I designate into the list?
Private Sub ToolStripButton8_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ToolStripButton8.Click ToolStripComboBox2.Items.Add(WebBrowser1.Url)
I created a telephone number form where the user enters the telephone number in a text box as (nnn) nnn-nnnn. The first 3 digits in parenthesis are the ISD code, the next three are the area code and the last four are the local number. I need to separate out these three fields of the phone number and display in three separate text boxes labeled appropriately. Now, suppose the user enters the phone number in a text box as a continuous string of 10 digits, where the first three represent the ISD code, the next three represent the area code and the last four represent the local number. I'm lost as how to change this string into the form (nnn) nnn-nnnn. This is what I have
I am trying to fill in a simple login form and click submit. I am able to copy the information into the username and password fields but cannot seem to get it to click submit within the code.
Here is the html code for the submit button below:
I have this code which when I run the program and click on the btnReturn the form actually minimises to the taskbar. What I have noticed is that yellow and green lines have appeared next to the btnReset section and all the way to the end of the code and that the last line (private sub fmmxxxxload) had disappeared, which I replaced. Now when I run the program it still minimises rather than appears on screen. If I click on it in the taskbar, the correct form is displayed.
I have a TabControl object on my form with many tabs created in code (TabPages) and my problem is that the same objects that are in the initial TabPage needs to be in the other TabPages created in code, I have this done in code when the user clicks the 'New Tab' menu option, however the same code is used for any new tabs created. The problem created here is that I have an event against one of the objects that appear in the other TabPages, but because the same code is used to create any new tab pages, the event will only work on the newest tab page, if that makes sense? By the way these objects that appear on the other TabPages are properties at the top so events can be handled against them in the respective subroutine.
I'll get straight to my problem - I'm currently coding in Visual Studio.I have a table (countries) with the columns ID | Name. The table is filled with around 28 records.I also have a form with 4 combo boxes (set up as 1,2,3 & 4) that I want the user to select. These combo boxes will display the names from the table countries. I then want to use the selected names in the combo boxes to Insert into their corresponding ID into another table. For example England would have the ID 1, USA the ID 2 etc.So, is it possible to have separate combo boxes that will give separate ID values but using the same table? At the moment I can't seem to find a solution.Eventually the form will have more than 4 combo boxes so I don't want to use separate bindingsources for each combo box.
In an application with multitab on a user Form after collecting some information I will plug it into an access database and collect data and disply it with another "Second" User form.On the second user form I make a selection from 1-10 selection on the second user form, and again I will read the access database using the selected data by the user and would like to plug in to the First user form and close second user form.Somehow my textfield is not accessible and I get the yellow tip of "PLName is not member of 'Windows.System.Forms.Form'"[code]
I have a windows form with a textbox bound to a data table and a PDF Viewer both in the same form. I could change the text on the textbox and the Viewer would show whatever is linked to the textbox. I am trying to create a separate form to put the viewer in but at a loss on how to link it to the textbox on the first form.
In a project I'm working on, I have 3 separate mazes, a Splash Screen, and a Module for my global variable(gWin, to detect wins on the mazes). When you finish a maze, I'd like to get it so that it does not allow you to go back and redo a maze, to prevent cheating as I want a final screen to appear when they complete all 3 of the mazes. Is there a way that I can make a variable or something to be able to check if a maze was already completed then cause that maze to have it's .Enabled property set to false?
