When I double click on a row on a datagrid, a form will appear like the above screenshot.
When I double click on the row which consist of Brian/Kendall, a form will appear and should show Brian in the First Name text box and Kendall should appear in the Last Name textbox.

Dec 9, 2010I need to be able to double-click a row or column in a row to use a field (in this case the Student ID field, the 4th column if counting form 0) to get that row from a database onto a separate form and be able to edit and save it. I have no idea how to make this happen since it is not covered in the class beyond basically displaying database data in DataGridView, I chose to use this functionality in my final project (to be fancy I guess) with the thought that it will be easy to accomplish but am finding it is not quite as easy as I thought. Datagridview Double-click Events Not Firing?
Jan 14, 2011I have a windows form that can search for data and the results are results are returned in a Datagridview. The Datagridview is bound to a custom datatable object. On the CellDoubleClick and CellContentDoubleClick events, a new form is supposed to open which will display the results of that row. What I am noticing is that the datagridview doesn't always fire when I immediately double-click on a particular row. It would appear that I have to first click on the row to "select" it, then double-click the row so the event will fire. Is there a way to remove this intermediate "select" step? Is there a property in the Datagridview that needs to be activated so the double-click events will fire right away? Does something possibly need to be done in another DatagridView event?

For the code below I use a simple form (form1), add a tabcontrol via the forms designer (tabcontrol1) to it and remove the two default tabpages keeping the basic tabcontrol.

I have a menu item that is single click, and that works fine. Why doesn't the double click work when someone double clicks on the form?

Dec 1, 2010I'm having a problem with my DataGridView. When I double-click on any column, with exception to Date & Time, the grid advances by 1. As you can see the 2nd row is highlighted in blue, I actually double-clicked on the first one, under "Sent By." (See attached image)

Apr 27, 2010Working in the interface I find it very frustrating that when you double click something in a form, it automatically enters code that you have to delete, then exit out when you were only trying to single click. Is there any way to disable this double click feature? Or possibly change it so if you press CTRL and click it automatically brings up the Code

I am able to do that IF the user double clicks the form (I basically resize the form to full screen, andreposition it to 0,0). This is loads of flickering, but it works. However this seems to only work if the user double clicks the form. After loading, if you grab to top bar, you can move it.

Feb 21, 2009i'm working on a favorites system for my webbrowser an I think I know how I can do it. I was planning on having a seperate form come up when you click to edit the favorite you would type your URL and display text there and then when you click the favorite in the dropdown box on the other form in would navigate to the webbrowser you specified. My problem is that it dosn't seem to recognize the text box becuas its on a differnt form. Is there a way I can declare that text box on the first form? My grid double click works, but when it repaints with the new data, a single click fires the double click. I have no code in place to handle a single click .
The interesting thing is that it is (in my case) a toggle. If I double click, on the repaint, a single click fires the double click code. When it repaints again, I need a double click .
The double click code fires off a messagebox - if I tell it not to continue, then I have to double click to get it to fire again. So it is not dependant on what data is displayed.
