Get The Angle Of A Line In Relation To The X Axis?

Apr 18, 2011

i am trying to get the angle of a line in relation to the x axis. The line is being drawn in a picturebox. So its the Upper right quadrant of the cartesian plane ... but its flipped over the x axis.im using this code

a=pt(1).x
b=pt(1).y
c=pt(2).x
d=pt(2).y

z=math.atan2((c-a),(d-b))*(180/math.pi)

The issue is that the line im drawing is almost parallel to the x axis but its returning a value of roughly 90 degrees .It seems like it is giving me the angle in relation to the y axis, but not being super good at the math myself im not exactly sure what to change here.

Drawing A Line At An Angle?

Jan 22, 2011

if i use

Dim Gr As Graphics = SomePanel.CreateGraphics()
Gr.Drawline(StartingPoint, EndingPoint)

I want to be able to have a line drawn from point a to b, but be able to rate it 90 degress based on user input so if the user inputs 70 I want it to rotate 30 degree's to simulate a 70 deg relationship to a horizontal line that it touches if that makes any sense. a is starting point b is the user inputs 70 and it draws it at 70 in relationship to the horizontal lineheres the image that i forgot to post above Attached image(s)

VS 2010 Draw A Line And Calculate The Angle?

Oct 20, 2011

I Have created a program (see below) that enables you to use you cam. You then draw a line and calculate the angle. The purpose is that I do alot of work with remote control cars and need to acuratley set toe and camber angles, it takes to long with the "old" method So I am creating this little program. ok, so, lets see what I want to do. Well, the first thing I would like to do is draw a line from top to bottom of my picture box dead center of left to right, this is dead center of the cam so the bottom of your item should be posistioned to meet the bottom of the centre line. I then draw a line from bottom to top of the objects angle. I then use the dead center line and the line I drew to calculate the angle.

Formatting Axis Labels Based On Axis Label Values?

May 22, 2012

I have a P/L chart which has a left scale (Y axis) which starts from a negative value. I want to format the axis labels (the major tick mark labels) so that the negative ones are red.
Something like;

If cht.ChartAreas(chtarea).AxisX.MajorTickMark.Value < 0 Then
cht.ChartAreas(chtarea).AxisY.LabelStyle.Font = New Font("Verdana", 9.0F, FontStyle.Bold, Color.Red)

[Code]....

Of course that doesn't work since MajorTickMark doesn't have a value property. How does one make this work?

Excel - Code In VBA And Recording A Macro - Input A Values For The X Axis Rotation And The Y Axis Rotation

Sep 16, 2009

I am having some major problems with the code in VBA and recording a macro didn't get me anywhere nor is the VBA help file. I have to have it so that I can input a values for the x axis rotation and the y axis rotation so that my 3d surface graph will rotate whatever values I input, the 3d surface graph will rotate those degrees. I also have to have a method for having the default rotation. I was also wondering how to put scroll bars for the x and y rotation. The only other thing I am having trouble with is having an input to check box for right angle axes. So far I have two cells for entering the x rotation value and the y rotation value. I also already have my 3d surface graph.

RDLC Chart - Produce A Chart Showing The Month Along The Y-axis And The Value Up The X-axis

Jan 8, 2009

I have the smallest dataset in the world that simply consists of a month (text) and and amount. I want to produce a chart showing the month along the y-axis and the value up the x-axis. How do I do it? I have dragged the chart control onto the report page and populated the dataset. The chart shows but nothing like what I would expect. Just to make it simple I populated the dataset with an amount equivalent to the month number so it should show as 1 in January, 2 in Feb etc...However no matter where I drag the dataset's column names I don't get what I want. Where am I going wrong?

I use this simple loop to populate the dataset:

dsSales.Tables("Sales").Clear()

For i As Integer = 1 To 12
dsSales.Tables("Sales").Rows.Add(MonthName(i), i)
Next

ReportViewer1.RefreshReport()

I get this as a result:

Calculate Angle Into A Visual Graphic?

Oct 28, 2011

Ok. So I have a program I have made to calculate angles. i have a line for true vertical and I need the program to draw the line at a given angle. Basically, if I put 82 in textbox1, I want the program to calculate the cordinates where that line sits on the X axis, The y axis is always picturebox1.height, So the y axis isn't important here, just the x axis.

What would I do to calculate this angle into a visual graphic?

Get Relation Between 2 Databases?

Jun 7, 2011

I have two dataset , each with with table . each datasets is connected to a separate dataadapter to get data from sql server database file (two different tables SQLtableOrders & SQLtableCustomerA))

datasetOrders.Tables("Orders") >>> the first column "orderID" is a primary unique key. Its structure is details below :
OrderID----OrderName----OrderCost--------Date
1----------A---------------54------------11/11/2010

[Code].....

note that I had already made this by getting the data by SQL Statement "Select SQLtableOrders.* , SQLtableCustomerA.orderID FROM SQLtableOrders, SQLtableCustomerA WHERE SQLtableOrders.orderID = SQLtableCustomerA.orderID" It is really working fine , but the problem that it takes time to get data from the SQL server each time I disply orders. I already have the datasetOrders.Tables("Orders") data on the client PC , I need only to make the client PC extract which orders are assinged to a ceratin customers. I can do it by For... Next , but I guess it will take time , specially if "orders" data contains many data .

DB/Reporting :: Relation DB Design?

Apr 21, 2010

I am designing a system for our sales team to enter their sales expenses. I have designed an input form and need some advise on what exactly I should store in the expenses table VS lookup from the employee table.

First, the form has a text box where the user must enter their EmployeeID. Management asked for a text box VS a combo box because they do not want users looking at each others expenses. The form has a search feature where by after you enter your employee number, it will look for an existing expense ticket first before allowing you to create a new one. Anyway, here are some of the decisions I have to make.

When the user enters their employee number, I would like to display their employee name. The EmployeeID is saved in the Expense table but should I also store the name in the expsense table? If I do save it, it's duplication of data, if I do not, I have to look it up each time the record is loaded. But is there a point storing the name long term? Does this qualify as related data? If I was to perform some reporting, could this cause a problem if an employee changes their name etc.

The expense data is spread over 2 tables, the first for the header details including employeeID, expense date and Expense ID etc. The second table contains the expense lines information. Amount, customer, category etc. My next question is when the employee chooses an expense category, there is an associated general Ledger code with that category. Again, the expense category data is stored in a table. When the user chooses the expense category, should I store the categoryID or store the values associated with the ID (GLAcct, CategoryDescription etc.) Does this qualify as related data or should lookup values always be duplicated in the master table? It is possible that over time, the GL accounts associated with the Expense categories could change. So for accuracy purposes, should they be stored in the expense lines table?
