.net - EF - Only Removes Relation When Hit By Breakpoint?
Jun 7, 2012
<HttpPost()>
Function Edit(<Bind(Prefix:="Article")> ByVal Article As FormCollection, Optional ByVal DepartementID As Integer = 0, Optional ByVal LeverancierID As Integer = 0) As ActionResult ', ByVal ReferenceSupplierID As Integer
' Dim Art As Article = ArticleService.GetArticleById(Article.ArticleID)
Dim _toUpdateArt As Article = ArticleService.GetArticleById(Article(0))
UpdateModel(_toUpdateArt, Article)
[Code]...
toUpdateArt.Departement = Nothing and _toUpdateArt.Supplier = Nothing is to remove the optional relationship. But it only works when i debug it and sometimes after several loops of the command, before the relation is actually removed and it's stored in the database. When there isn't a breakpoint on the "function", the Relationship will never be nulled.Does anyone has an explanation for this and how to fix this?
I have a solution with number of projects developed in Visual Studio 2005 and the breakpoint is not working displaying message 'the breakpoint will not be currently hit' No symbols have been loaded for this document. I have tried solutions/suggestions in the forum and none is working. I have deleted the obj and bin directories and nothing worked. Selecting the Debug Menu, Windows, Modules option I can only see the pdb files for some projects (dlls) and cannot see for the project I'm debugging.
I have a system icon (for example a folder icon) and I want to display it in a richtextbox. That's not a problem, but the transparency of the icon is gone and is replaced by a blue color. I tried to use the MakeTranparent function of the bitmap object, but with no luck. How can I make the bitmap transparent again?
Here is my code:
Dim _mycurrentFolder As String = "C:Test" Dim _folderIcon As Icon = GetSystemIcon(_mycurrentFolder) Dim _folderBitmap As Bitmap = _folderIcon.ToBitmap()
I think this is an IDE problem, but may be my lack of understanding, so apologies if I am wrong.I have an SQL database, VS2005 app working fine, but if I put a foreign key constraint on the relation between 2 tables, as soon as I try to access the table it throws an exception as shown below. Exception.InnerException for details. The error is: DataMember property 'tblProduct_tblStock' cannot be found on the DataSource. If I delete the foreign key constraint it works perfectly happily. I am at a loss since the error seems to be one that I would expect at compile rather than run, and anyway does not seem to be true since the relationship is clearly there in the DataSource (otherwise I wouldn't be able to edit it to remove the constraint!) Possibly I am doing something stupid, but the exception is confusing me too much to let me see it. All I am trying to do is ensure that I can't create a stock record without the product existing, without coding a check - which I thought was a straightforward SQL approach
I have created a winform which is having a DataGridView control, based on some condition i am coloring few cells in red color.
' Array MismatchRecords is containing rows and column no. of each cell needs to be colored For y = 0 To UBound(MismatchRecords) Dim Row = CInt(Split(MismatchRecords(y), "|")(0))
I have a process which grabs the birthdate and from a data table and display them in a masked text box for viewing and editing However when pushing the data into the textbox any preceding zeros get removed For example 05/05/2005 would display as 55/20/05__
The masked Text box is set up as 00/00/0000 The line which assigns the code is:
I am creating an HTML document using HTML agility pack. I load a template file then append content to it. All of this works, but when I view the output file it has removed the closing tag from my <br/> tags to look like this <br>. What is causing this?
Dim doc As New HtmlDocument() doc.Load(Server.MapPath("Template.htm")) Dim title As HtmlNode = doc.DocumentNode.SelectSingleNode("//title")
[code]....
I ended up just reading in my template file as a standard string then loading the html like this
Dim TemplateHTML As String = File.ReadAllText(Server.MapPath("Template.htm")) TemplateHTML = TemplateHTML.Insert(TemplateHTML.IndexOf("<div id=""topContent"">") + "<div id=""topContent"">".Length, _ html.ToString) doc.LoadHtml(TemplateHTML)
I've made a small program that creates a registry item in the users run key (basically starts the program on bootup), my question is does anybody know how to remove the item from all the users of the computer when the program is uninstalled?.
I know that all the other users registry hives aren't loaded at anyone time and feel a custom action dll that runs on uninstall that iterates through the 'documents and settings' folder loading the hives one at a time and removes the registry key.
I am able to browse to a file and save its path in a textbox, but the slashes from path are removed when saved to the database. C:Program FilesApplicationDocStudio.bmp becomes C:Program FilesApplicationDocStudio.bmp Public Class FormSettings Dim Result As String [Code] .....
I have a listbox were users can add items to. Then i also have a remove button which removes the selected item. The listbox also has a datasource, so to remove an item i uses this
[code]...
But i also want sorting on the listbox. But when i clicks the remove button, it removes random items, not the selected one. How can i fix this?
I have breakpoints set in my code, but when the app loads, a little exclamation point shows up that says "The Breakpoint will not be currently hit. No Symbols have been loaded.
I have searched the forums for possible solutions. I've tried deleting the bin and obj folders and rebuilding my project and that did not work. I've also verified that the build configuration was set to debug and not release, which was also true.
I have a problem where I can't get VS to stop at a breakpoint. It is a DLL that will be used by a third party exe (Intuitive's ERP). Another developer gets his machine to stop at a breakpoint. Mine won't (it always goes to the dll) and I opened the same project on my machine. I tried running the gacutil with the -u option but it says that no assemblies match. This is going to really slow the development process if I have to debug via messages boxes and files.
I want to set a breakpoint to see what line of code changes a given variable. It was possible in VB6, but it looks like in .NET is only possible to set a breakpoint in a specific line.
I have two dataset , each with with table . each datasets is connected to a separate dataadapter to get data from sql server database file (two different tables SQLtableOrders & SQLtableCustomerA))
datasetOrders.Tables("Orders") >>> the first column "orderID" is a primary unique key. Its structure is details below : OrderID----OrderName----OrderCost--------Date 1----------A---------------54------------11/11/2010
[Code].....
note that I had already made this by getting the data by SQL Statement "Select SQLtableOrders.* , SQLtableCustomerA.orderID FROM SQLtableOrders, SQLtableCustomerA WHERE SQLtableOrders.orderID = SQLtableCustomerA.orderID" It is really working fine , but the problem that it takes time to get data from the SQL server each time I disply orders. I already have the datasetOrders.Tables("Orders") data on the client PC , I need only to make the client PC extract which orders are assinged to a ceratin customers. I can do it by For... Next , but I guess it will take time , specially if "orders" data contains many data .
Using VB.Net I want to automatically size the height of the headers in a DataGridView so I am calling AutoResizeColumnHeadersHeight during the form load after the data has been populated.
The method doesn't appear to do anything, but does work if I do the following:
- put a breakpoint on grid.AutoResizeColumnHeadersHeight() - open quickwatch on the grid - expand the child properties - close quickwatch and hit F5 to continue processing
The resizing then works I assume the reason is that evaluating one of the properties of the grid is causing the method to behave differently. Does anybody know either what I should be doing differently, or a workaround - e.g. which property do I need to evaluate to make it work?
I have a breakpoint that is not being acted upon, as I am getting an warning saying that : The Source Code is different from the original I have tried to clean the solution, without any luck. I have only one version of the code, so I cannot understand why this is happening.
We are facing a crash issue in our application. To debug the crash issue we have directly executed the application from code.To trace the error we have removed the checked from "EnableJust My Code" options in Debugging and we have checked the "Enabledunmanaged code debugging" option in project properties Debug tab.
I am a newbie. I have been able to Add new entities where there is a One-To-Many Relation. I am having a problem (don't Know how to do it) adding a new Entity when the relation is using Many-To-Many. In my EDM I have:
I am designing a system for our sales team to enter their sales expenses. I have designed an input form and need some advise on what exactly I should store in the expenses table VS lookup from the employee table.
First, the form has a text box where the user must enter their EmployeeID. Management asked for a text box VS a combo box because they do not want users looking at each others expenses. The form has a search feature where by after you enter your employee number, it will look for an existing expense ticket first before allowing you to create a new one. Anyway, here are some of the decisions I have to make.
When the user enters their employee number, I would like to display their employee name. The EmployeeID is saved in the Expense table but should I also store the name in the expsense table? If I do save it, it's duplication of data, if I do not, I have to look it up each time the record is loaded. But is there a point storing the name long term? Does this qualify as related data? If I was to perform some reporting, could this cause a problem if an employee changes their name etc.
The expense data is spread over 2 tables, the first for the header details including employeeID, expense date and Expense ID etc. The second table contains the expense lines information. Amount, customer, category etc. My next question is when the employee chooses an expense category, there is an associated general Ledger code with that category. Again, the expense category data is stored in a table. When the user chooses the expense category, should I store the categoryID or store the values associated with the ID (GLAcct, CategoryDescription etc.) Does this qualify as related data or should lookup values always be duplicated in the master table? It is possible that over time, the GL accounts associated with the Expense categories could change. So for accuracy purposes, should they be stored in the expense lines table?
I want to have a combo box with a list of names. When one of the names is selected, I want the phone number and email to be displayed below it in a text box (or something similar).
i have two tables ( employees and departments )i want to insert data in employees table via employees form .so how can i put the departments names in a combobox and when the user choose a specific one it will return a department number so i can pass it to the INSERT statement? i mean what is the exact SELECT statement to load the the information to the datatable do i need two SELECT statements or innerjoin or something else?
I have two tables populated in a dataset using sql data adapter.. i created relation by specifying two columns in each table.. added it in dataset and made datagridview to show related records.. but it shows only first record...
---code
Dim cons As New String("Data Source=xxxxSQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=emp;Integrated Security=True") Dim sql1 As New String("Select * from tab1") Dim sql2 As New String("Select * from tab2")
I have a function in an external library, for which I do not have the source code, which is causing problems. If I were putting in a breakpoint in my own code, I would put it on the first line of the function, but as it is an external function, I do not have that option. Is there any way to as Visual Studio to break any time the function is called? My current workaround is to do a "Find All References" and put an individual breakpoint on every single call to the function, which is a sucky way of doing things.
