Background : I have built a VB .NET application on the 4.0 Framework, part of the primary functionality is the built in AxWMPLib.AxWindowsMediaPlayer which allows us to pass a file path as a URL to the player and then play it through the built in media player. My Development Platform is VS 2010 Pro on Windows 7.
I have problem in calling DLL file in VB.Net that I had Created it in C++... it give me this error message: "An unhandled exception of type 'System.EntryPointNotFoundException' occurred in test_dll_1.exe. Additional information: Unable to find an entry point named 'add_1' in DLL 't1.dll'."
This is my code in C++ (header file)
[CODE]............
The one in the main
#include "header_1.h"
double add_1(double a, double b){ return (a+b);
[CODE].....................
This code only for creating dll and I did created it correctly and i had tested it in c++ and it did works.... but in the Vb.net I had no luck with it...This is the code that I wrote it in the VB.net
Imports System.Runtime.InteropServices
Public Class Form1
<DllImport("t1.dll")> Public Shared Function add_1(ByVal a1 As Double, ByVal a2 As Double) As Double
End Function
[CODE].....................
And, I did put the .dll file in the bin folder, but also with no luck...
I get this: Base class 'System.Windows.Forms.Panel' specified for class 'MenuButton' cannot be different from the base class 'System.Windows.Forms.UserControl' of one of its other partial types.
Win7 64 bit; fully patched VS2008 targeting FW2.0; VB.Net; running in Debug Mode (not tested in Release mode)I have a resonably complex app which I am refactoring a bit. As part of that, I relocated some code from a subroutine into a Click Event Handler. The Event Handler will, late in the handler, call the, reduced in function, subroutine. The point of this is thatNow when I click the button associated with the modified Handler I get:A first chance exception of type 'System.AccessViolationException' occurred in System.Windows.Forms.dll<br />With Error System.AccessViolationException Attempted to read or write protected memory.This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
at MusicManager2009.frmMain2.cmdLoadAlbum_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnClick(EventArgs e)
[code].....
All functions of the app, except those that start from the buttonclick in question, work as before in the problem version.The problem persists after rebuilding the entire solution, after restarting VS, and after rebooting the PC.
I have a project that up until recently has been working fine. It sends an email message to a user once a file has been successfully uploaded, registered and/or approved to use the website. It is written in VB.NET framework 1.1, running ASP.NET on a Windows 2003 server SE sp2.
First the code Public Sub EmailAfterRegister(ByVal sEmail As String, ByVal sUser As String) Try

This has worked for over one or two years. Today I realized upon testing I get the following error:The procedure entry point IstrcmpiI could not be located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL.Upon some research I found that maybe I needed to install MDAC 2.8, which i downloaded and installed today, however i still get the same error. I have had my communications and network admins check traffic and connectivity to the smtp server and all is working fine. Yet I still get the error.
I am writing a program for my A-level coursework But for some reason I got this build error this has never occurred to me before, I have no idea why I can't use string for the name of my form.
When I add a new, empty form to my VB.NET VS9 project, the linenherits System.Windows.Forms.Formis missing.What am I doing wrong here?I thought it would be added automatically.I experienced that some thing get weird if this line is not there (Form_Load is not firing, I think).
I need to assign code to a button, that when clicked on, validates an ISBN code, and displays a message that it is either Valid or Invalid. I basically need help transforming code used in a console application that will now be used in a windows form application, so no more writeline stuff, now message boxes. [code]
I am working on a windows application in vb.net 2005 and it needs to connect to the SQL Server database. In this example I testing if the connection is able to open properly:

Is it something dealing with the permissions set with the database server or something? I am new at .NET programming and I have been spinning my wheels on this for the past couple of days and I am at a loss. From what I research, this error should only occur if I was creating a web program, but I am not. It is a windows application.
