I'm getting a message when I try to import this namespace that "Namespace or type specified in the Imports System.Windows.Media.Imaging doesn't contain any public member or cannot be found. Make sure the namespace or the type is defined etc..."
I have a panel with some controls in it (several textboxes, a slider, 2 buttons, and a small groupbox).. When I click a button, I want all of the textboxes within the panel to be readonly... So I have this code: [code] When I run it though, I get the following error:Unable to cast object of type 'System.Windows.Forms.Button' to type 'System.Windows.Forms.TextBox'.If I remove a button, it moves on to give me the same error but for a label..
An unhandled exception of type 'System.StackOverflowException' occurred in System.Windows.Forms.dll it also says make sure you do not have infinate loop or infinate recursion il give all code in order that they are executed in Check the chechbox and it disables all irelevent stuff and populates the combobox

Win7 64 bit; fully patched VS2008 targeting FW2.0; VB.Net; running in Debug Mode (not tested in Release mode)I have a resonably complex app which I am refactoring a bit. As part of that, I relocated some code from a subroutine into a Click Event Handler. The Event Handler will, late in the handler, call the, reduced in function, subroutine. The point of this is thatNow when I click the button associated with the modified Handler I get:A first chance exception of type 'System.AccessViolationException' occurred in System.Windows.Forms.dll<br />With Error System.AccessViolationException Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
at MusicManager2009.frmMain2.cmdLoadAlbum_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnClick(EventArgs e)
All functions of the app, except those that start from the buttonclick in question, work as before in the problem version. The problem persists after rebuilding the entire solution, after restarting VS, and after rebooting the PC.
When I run my project I get "An unhandled exception of type 'System.StackOverflowException' occurred in System.Windows.Forms.dll"

I have the following code running, the first time I change the selected index, everything runs smoothly. However, if I try to change the selected index again, nothing happens and the subcategories combobox values do not change.
Private Sub cboMainCategory_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles cboMainCategory.SelectedIndexChanged '* make sure the combobox is fully loaded
I keep getting an eroor this error says: An unhandled exception of type 'System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException' occurred in system.windows.forms.dll Additional information: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values.

A first chance exception of type 'System.InvalidOperationException' occurred in System.Windows.Forms.dll It displays in my Immediate Window when i run my program, I'm using a text reader to read a number of XML files using background worker...most the time it stops so something is wrong but sometimes it works fine.
I am working on a card game, and i get this werid error:
A first chance exception of type 'System.Reflection.TargetParameterCountException' occurred in System.Windows.Forms.dll
The code that is cousing this error is:
Private Delegate Sub ShowcardDelegate(ByVal test As String, ByVal objtest As Object, ByVal value As Boolean) Private Sub Showcard(ByVal test As String, ByVal objtest As Object, ByVal value As Boolean) If objtest.InvokeRequired Then
there is one problem here the root node on the line "GetDirectories(info.GetDirectories(0, rootNode))" here is the error "Error 1 Value of type 'System.Windows.Forms.TreeNode' cannot be converted to 'System.IO.SearchOption'."
I've just started learning VB.NET with VS 9.0; a small application I'm working on keeps returning an "A first chance exception of type System InvalidOperationException occurred in System Windows Forms dll" error from the Immediate Window. The application has almost zero functionality so far, it consists of a menu strip with:
File About |Open |Save |Save As |Quit
The only code I have written opens an Open File dialog, a Save As dialog, an About window with background sound and an OK button, and the Quit button which exits.
Since there is almost no code for me to search through, I can't understand why there would be an error. The program runs just fine when I'm debugging it too.
I have a utility that is a simple exe that is not installed compiled with VS2005 and works well. But when I upgraded to VS2008 the utility can no longer locate files in the active system folder. I have UAC turned off and am logged in as the Administrator and it still can not locate a file that I can see in Windows Explorer. The file I am looking for is PakMgr.exe.
I did a conversion of a VB6 project to VB.NET 2005 and some properties of a RichTextBox control weren't upgraded. I was wondering if someone could tell me an alternative or what to do about the following properties of the RichTextBox:
ZOrder - this worked in VB6: formMain.textStatusWindow.ZOrder(VB6.ZOrderConstants.BringToFront) SelColor - this worked in VB6 fo example: formMain.textStatusWindow.SelColor = RGB(207, 73, 10)
I was just trying to create something and I found a little code on the web. When I pasted it it got 8 errors, and I could get rid of 5. The other three; I have no idea... It returns an error ('Value' is not a member of System.Windows.Forms.HtmlElement'). How should I fix this? The code is:
OK, in it's simpest terms, I have a custom object (all string Items) which I add to a list of those items. The list is declared as a global variable. One form updates the list, another contains a dataGridView (vs.net 3.5) that displays the list items. The view displays the correct data. For some reason, if I select a header in the dgv before it's populated, that's fine, but if I select it (click anywhere with the mouse) it bugs out with an Index = -1 error from the System.Windows.Forms. CurrencyManager.get_Item(Int32 index) bit.
i have one window application developed in VS 2005 which is running successfully on client side,My question is that now i want to convert this window application in WPF browser based application, so what should i keep in mind to convert this application to wpf applicaton, One more thing that in Window Application i have used one mdb file which contain database login detail, so on application startup this file is accessed using System.Windows.Forms.Application.StartupPath+@"/filename.mdb", now im just want to test only whether can i login to my application using WPF or not this time it give me this error "Request for the permission of type 'System.Security. Permissions. RegistryPermission, mscorlib, Version=22.214.171.124, Culture=neutral".
Which form events fire when a form is minimized, restored and maximized.I am trying to draw lines on a PictureBox control, but cannot get the draw subroutine to run after the form has been restored from a minimized windowstate.I probably should know this answer, but I have not written much code in the last 4-5 years and am relatively new to vb.netAlso.
I'm writing a windows service and initially tried just using a regular System.Windows.Forms.Timer, but never saw it's tick event get fired in my debugger. From doing some research, it appeared that I needed to use the S ystem.Timers.Timer control instead. In order to make debugging easy, I set my timer interval to a really short value 1000 ms. I'm seeing some rather strange behavior, though. It appears that my timer control is creating multiple threads within my application, or is this just a bug in my debugger? I have an event handler for the Elapsed event like so:
When I step through my code like this, it now appears to work as expected. Has anyone else run into this?
