I have a report viewer in a form, and when I run the project I want to watch the values from the fields which they are coming from a DataSet.
The Dataset comes in full into my form. I have install the Report Viewer as Microsoft says BUT!
These things look about the same to me. Is there any reason I should use one over the other?

I am printing out reports for the user with ReportViewer. The issue I am encountering now is that at runtime if I make any changes and decided to view the changes via a report with ReportViewer, the change will not reflect. I have to close the program and open it up again so that I can view the changes. What do I have to do in order to view the changes view ReportViewer during runtime? This is my code:

I am new in VB 2005. I have problem loading data in report viewer, data loaded successfully but it is not the current data. I am entering production details into the database (access 2007) . It will add successfully. Then I open production report there is no current updated data. It will show when I close the vb 2005 and reopen it.

i have probleam with my reportviewer, After i generate my report it only show 1 row from my database, My report also to big which is width until need 2 page . Any advice how i can generate all data in my database using reportviwer.and how i can resize my report. For you info i use visual studio 2005 and sql 2005. how i can use stored procedures with parameters to retrieve data and display it in a report viewer in VB 2005.
View 1 RepliesAfter several hours of searching the internet I could not find any Report Viewer tutorials that show a project that contains a parent/child report. I'm using rdlc report files.I can create a single report but we want to create a report that shows shows invoice header information followed by the invoice details followed by the next invoice header and details and so on.
If a sample project is not available, do you know of an online tutorial that shows how to do it?I saw something that might help on gotreportviewer.com about subreports, but it's in C# and not VB.Net so I could not figure out how it works.
When i pass the parameter and run the report it works fine as i close the form it closes the form is there any way so that i should be able to close the crystal report viewer and pass the parameter again and should be able to view report again.

View 2 RepliesI have a "MicrosoftReportViewer" on a form and a Combo box that lists the available reports (which will end up being dynamic in the end).
When the use selects an item from the list, the system loads up the correct report (populating any datasets needed) and then displaying it.Thing is, I can't get the viewer to change the displayed report, it just refreshes the first loaded report.
As you can see from the code below, there are two reports set up. I can get either one to be displayed if you select it first, sadly you're then stuck with that one!Currently they both use the same datasouce, so no need to mess about with that.

This just loads up the report that the viewer has set as the default, reguardless of the report selected!What am I missing? There should be a way to change the report being viewed and I don't really want to be having multiple viewers just to house multiple reports?

View 5 RepliesHavent done this yet, trying to figure it out, I have been reading different post concerning temp tables to use with a report viewer and have been left confused. I have 2 tables that I would like to combine certain columns with to use in a report viewer.
I can itenerate through each table to retrieve what I am wanting, but how do you create a temp table to use in a report viewer? Will this table use an adapter and binding source?
