Microsoft Report Viewer To Show Parent/child Data Such As Invoices Headers Followed By Invoice Details?

After several hours of searching the internet I could not find any Report Viewer tutorials that show a project that contains a parent/child report. I'm using rdlc report files.I can create a single report but we want to create a report that shows shows invoice header information followed by the invoice details followed by the next invoice header and details and so on.
If a sample project is not available, do you know of an online tutorial that shows how to do it?I saw something that might help on gotreportviewer.com about subreports, but it's in C# and not VB.Net so I could not figure out how it works.
Flow: User have login from LOGIN form then the mainwidow ll be loaded. from the main window the CHil MDi wil be accessed.
Problem: Parent MDI controls(say listbox) is not updated if i enter details in child MDI. BUt if i directly open the Parent MDi without login form then the PArent MDI controls have been updated fromt he Child MDi..
I'm building an asp.net web application using Microsoft report viewer. It connects to a SQL database using integrated security. However when I first load the report page after it has been published to the server (everything works fine locally), I get this error:
An error has occurred during report processing. Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. Login failed for user 'SERVER NAME REMOVED'.
The weird thing is that when I click the refresh button on the report (not IE's refresh button), it loads just fine. I know that login will not work for the database server, but why is the report viewer not using the integrated security I set in the web.config?
i am new in vb.net i am designing small application and i am adding reports to it.problem is that 1) in header i text at end of text i need to add zone number from database. like: This is header text " zone number" zone number after header text from database or from a variable
I tried out the tutorial on [URL].. that shows how to do a simple report with the Microsoft Report Viewer control. I really like this control.I wish to further my skills on this nice tool but can't find any step by step tutorials on creating many different types of reports even if I do a Google search. I'm hoping to find tutorials on reports such as group break reports, sub-total reports, charts in the reports, drill down reports etc.
Does anyone know where I can find these? If they don't exist yet, would you create them so the community will benefit?
i would like to display a pdf on my winform and am thinking of using of those tools in my vb.net application. does anyone know the difference between the two?
I have a main form, and some sub forms, and each sub form can have some sub forms. When I have multiple sub forms open, and I try to get data from the parent form, it returns the data from the wrong parent form.For example I have two instances of Mainform.subform running. If I do something like this in a child form of one instance of the subform. It returns data from the other subform.

I have a client, who is running Windows 2008 Server 64 bit. He is running our software, it has a built in crystal report viewer functionality. The print dialogue just wouldn't work no matter what. It worked on our 32 bit box and we verified it. I verified it on our 64 bit box, and the print dialogue didn't open either. I did some research online. And one suggestion is to set m_printDlg.UseEXDialog = True. I tried that, but that did not work either...

Ive been trying to figure out what report I should use as it appears I have crystal reports built in and also have Microsoft Report Viewer in this VB 2008.What I need to do is give the user a list of names and when a ame gets clicked it will show all the details in a report.I have loaded a ListView Control with the names from my database and this is letting the user pick a report so I can get the name and ID number of the record to show this way and just need to figure out how to get that record onto a report and what report to use?Ive done similar in VB6 but have never looked at .Net. I have developed vb.net application and have one main form with isMdiContainer property true. It has one Menustrip control docking on top of the form and StatusStrip docking on bottom of the scrren. When User click on any menu item it opens new form or if already opened, show it. My application allow to open multiple child forms opened at same time and all forms StartPosition is set to CenterScreen. My problem is becuase all forms are in cetenr it ovelaps each other and user wouldn't know which form(menu option) is opend. I would like to see all opened forms in different tabs (like in windows taskbar) in bottom of MDI parent form.
In my project i have one parent window form with one menu bar and one status bar. that is what i want is:when i show the child form to see in the status ber an icon relative to the child window.How i can do that?And if that can't be how i can see an icon in a task bar?
I am using a Crystal Report in my application to display an Invoice. For this, I take the 'Invoice No' as input from the user. I was wondering if I could display multiple invoices on different pages of the report by taking 'From Invoice No' & 'To Invoice No' as input form the user.

I am working with vb.net 2010 SQL express 2008 and ReportViewer. I have created a form that a user can add, edit and delete data which is all stored in an SQL db. I am printing out reports for the user with ReportViewer. The issue I am encountering now is that at runtime if I make any changes and decided to view the changes via a report with ReportViewer, the change will not reflect. I have to close the program and open it up again so that I can view the changes. What do I have to do in order to view the changes view ReportViewer during runtime? This is my code:
I am new in VB 2005. I have problem loading data in report viewer, data loaded successfully but it is not the current data. I am entering production details into the database (access 2007) . It will add successfully. Then I open production report there is no current updated data. It will show when I close the vb 2005 and reopen it.

Im working with MDI parent/child objects. when closing the child objects i need the child to check to see if it is the last child object before closing. i couldn't find anything on google, maybe im searching for the wrong thing.

I'm trying to do this with a gridview control. I'm not sure that's what I should be using. But what I'm having trouble with, is getting the gridview to only list items with a unique USERID. And then using that unique USERID to list each item individually below.
Is there any kind of "automated" way of pulling this off using standard .net controls without going in and manually piecing it all together from the codebehind?
