In my WPF Form1 I have TextBlock1 that fill from AddressTableAdapter. To edit address user must click EditButton to open Form2 to perform changes. My problem is passing data to Form2 from Form1. In Form2 I have 3 TextBoxes Street, City, Zip, and StateComboBox. I try to code in Loaded procedure of Form2 like this and got error message:

Scenario I have an MDI form with a UserControl docked at the top. The UserControl is for navigation and is ~50 pixels in height. I have a main form, and some sub forms, and each sub form can have some sub forms. When I have multiple sub forms open, and I try to get data from the parent form, it returns the data from the wrong parent form.For example I have two instances of Mainform.subform running. If I do something like this in a child form of one instance of the subform. It returns data from the other subform.

I am trying to size an MDI form to fit its 2 children perfectly within itself but when I use simple sizing it doesn't work - the MDI form always introduces scroll bars and the children seem to be too big for the parent. My three mDI form methods where this occurs is below.

I have a table (Projects) which is linked to projectVersions on projectID..projectVersions contains several columns on which I'd like to filter a returned project (and associated projectVersions) list. For example there is a "capacity" column and a "country" column. I am doing a filtered list of projects on one page and I'd like to include all projects where any one of the associated projectVersions has a capacity of 750ml and a country of "France" for example.It may be that a particular parameter is not set and so I pass a zero to indicate not to filter on that.I guess this needs some kind of subquery as when I try and do something like this: [code] it doesn't work as the "xxx" bit, being one-to-many, expects me to specify an item to get at the entities within and yet I want to query where ANY of the associated versions match one of the criteria.

I am using Visual Studio 2005. What I am trying to achieve is the following: I have a login form (form1) for the user. On successful login, a new form (form2) pops up which allows the user to add details of a student (name, age, address, courses taken, etc).
Following is what I tried to achieve the above said:
1) File>New>Project>VB Windows Application ................for form1
2) Project>Add Windows Form>Windows Form ...............for form2
What is happening is when I close form2, the application is not getting closed, form1 still exists. What i wish is that when I close any form (form1 or form2 or form3 etc ), the entire application must close.
Is it necessary to write this code for every MDI Parent code?

I'm trying to do this with a gridview control. I'm not sure that's what I should be using. But what I'm having trouble with, is getting the gridview to only list items with a unique USERID. And then using that unique USERID to list each item individually below.
Is there any kind of "automated" way of pulling this off using standard .net controls without going in and manually piecing it all together from the codebehind?

When I put that in the Parent form it doesn't like the ChildFormClass(). I wouldn't think it would be too hard to make a parent child relationship? I have tried looking for the MdiList property but I cannot seem to find it. I think I need to have some menu items to have a child form. If there is a way to have an MDI form without that I would like that. Does anyone know a good tutorial that explains creating MDI forms well, and what to do/put in the parent and child forms code?

I am trying to create a simple parent-child form in VB2010. I use a datagridview for each table/datasource and each is bound to the parent/child table and each table grid fills correctly. What I want is the parent-child relation to enforce filling the child table with only rows that fulfill the current row on the parent. I have created a DataRelation in the form load, but it will not permit a relation between tables in 2 different datasets. If I attempt to place both tables in a single dataset and define the PK-FK relation in the SQL Server I cannot create 2 separate datagrids from the same dataset.

How can I pass those arrays to the parent process? At the moment, the child processes write the arrays to a streambuilder and the parent process reads the stream. Is there a better way to do it? Is it possible to have the child processes write to RAM memory and have the parent process read from there? It is like declaring a global variable in the parent process and give the child processes access to it.
