.net - RaiseEvent When Debugging And Changing Execution Step?

I have this code in my application
If _oCurrentCall.CustomData.Length > 0 AndAlso UsageType = UsageTypeEnum.Vanlig Then
RaiseEvent NewIncomingCallWithCustomData(_oCurrentCall)
ElseIf UsageType = UsageTypeEnum.Sentralbord Then
RaiseEvent NewIncomingCall(_oCurrentCall, Queues)
End If
Without debugging the events are raised just fine and working.However, when debugging and trying to change execution step like dragging the execution step to the raiseevent in the other condition block, the event doesn't fire.

I get this message whenever I'm trying to debug using VB.NET 2008 Express: Step into: Stepping over property 'ReadTnsNames.ClassTnsNames.set_Name'. To step into properties, go to Tools->Options->Debugging and uncheck 'Step over properties and operators (Managed only)'.

Working in VWD 2010 Express I have an aspx.vb file with the following connection string:

Dim conn As New SqlConnection("Data Source=localhost;database=MyDB;Integrated Security=true")

This works when the code is on the web server / which is collocated with the SQLServer.However, when I want to debug, I have to copy to the server. I would like to be able to "debug in place" on my development machine and only copy files to the production machine periodically. Technically the production machine is not in production at the moment, but that's beside the point.Anyway, I followed the following instruction: [URL] I can now see the remote database, functions, etc. on the other machine (from the VWD running on the development machine). However, I thought I should then be able to execute this same code locally on the development machine using ctrl-F5, but I get the following error:
**Server Error in '/' Application.A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. I am running Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Professional on a Windows 7 system. While working on the visual basic exercise in chapter 4 of the Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 Step by Step book on the MyMenu program I added a Toolstrip to my form and then I was trying to perform the add OpenFileDialog and ColorDialog controls to the component tray as described at the bottom of page 111 under Using Dialog Box Controls. I could never get the controls to appear in the component tray as instructed in the book.

I have a program that plays a video and uses the step function to move frame by frame backwards and forwards through the video. The forward frame works just fine:
AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.Ctlcontrols.step(1)
However, the backwards step (below) jumps a full second backwards while the forwards step only steps .033 seconds forward (presumably a single frame).
AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.Ctlcontrols.step(-1)
I can't find any documentation about this problem online and in fact I can't find much mention of this function.the documentation does say the -1 command should step back one frame. IWMPControls2::step method Is this a known bug or is there an updated function I should be using?

I have a wizard where users need to fill out data. You cannot navigate to the second step until first step is completed.
I enforced this behavior by disabling/enabling "Next" button, but I really do not like this solution, since it seems not really elegant or safe here. What is the good approach on building step-by-step processes with enforcing step completion.

I seem to lost the practice files disk for this book, and I am trying to 're-learn' this book. I am unable to do the lessons without the practice files. i would like to ask for little help in here. I developing application for wake on lan and i have group of checkboxes button and i sub with threads. My problem is in button event i would like to run sub only if checkboxes are checked. All works but problem is when i have this rutines in button action then it start threading all the same time. Its very hard to explain. Bassicaly i wanna read this if checkboxes systematicly 1 by 1 from top to down coz right now in my multitexbox(status) they are all mixed and i can't recognize what belong to what.

When I started to work on this new project in vb.net 2010, I put many breakpoints to try to understand the execution order of the project, only to find it in vain. Step into command F11 should work correctly according to Visual Studio 2010: Step Into Property/Function(F11) doesn't work as expected. But I when I pressed F11, I found the code is jumping from one place to another based on breakpoints, not line by line or step by step.To give an example, please see the code below

When I press F11 at line 1, it goes to the property 1. After it returns, when I press F11,it goes to property 3 directly, without accessing the code in line 2 and line 3.I do not understand why the code is NOT executed step by step by using F11. If I put breakpoingts in line 2, then line 2 is executed.So it seems to me that the showed execution order is based on breakpoints! So if I put breakpoints at different places, the showed execution order would be different! Thus, it is impossible for me to really understand the execution order.

I'm having to write a reporting application that gets information from some Interbase servers and it also has to work on Vista as well as XP, I'm using to connect Borlands Data Provider.[code]My Issue is that debugging on my xp Machine the dataset gets filled, debugging on my vista box it fails ("Interbase provider initialization failed"), my initial thought was that this could be UAC related but I've compiled the application and 'ran as admin' and still same issue. (by the way it failes on the line Dim da as BdpDataAdapter...)

I have client/server app.I have a class for the tcpclient and a class for the tcplistenerIn my tcpclient class I have a system.timers.timerThe timer elapsed event fires a public event(in the tcpclient class) which the tcplistener class handles.During debugging I see the timer firing its elapsed event and calling raiseevent on the public method, yet the event is never fired in my tcplistener class.

I have a situation where I want to run the code in the Tick event ONLY ONCE not on the interval i have the timer set too.So I figured I would just do thisRaiseEvent MasterTimer.TickBut that gies an error saying mastertimer is not part of the class.Why won't that work?How do I call the Tick event manually without Start() Stop() the timer?

I'm having an issue with rasing an event. In my application I have a form and within that form I create an instance of a class (clsUsage). Within clsUsage I create an instance of clsUser which does several checks form permissions and other things. What I want is for clsUser to send status updates to clsUsage. ClsUser will be a dll but for now I've got it as a separate project in my solution. The RaiseEvent in clsUser seems to execute but the proc in clsUser that handles the event does not execute. I'm wondering if this is threading issue.
