.net - VB "Financial.Pmt" Equivalent In C#?

There is a built in function from the Microsoft.VisualBasic assembly. I can use it in VB like this:
Financial.Pmt((dAPR / 100) / 12, iNumberOfPayments, dLoanAmount) * -1
My current project is in C# and I need to use this function. Answers on the web say just add the namespace and assembly and use the same in C#- but this is not true! C# still does not recognize this formula.
So how can I use use Financial.Pmt in C# (or perhaps even porting the source code to it)?

My knowledge of programming is very miniscule. I've just started my first language class like 2 weeks ago and i've already been asked to write a program that accepts user input for loan amount, tax rate amount, and the loan term (in years) then it outputs how much interest you will owe and how much in total you will owe
im not asking for a handout as iv'e read the rules and i have no code to post (as im clueless of how to start ) i understand the arguements that the financial.pmt method can accept im jsut wondering how i would get the calculation of such a thing to output to a read-only text box and if there is any way to link the user input to the financial.pmt method without having to hard code the arguments
i tried writing a code as to use all of these arguements with old scool paper like math but when i tried to state which text box variables to multiply and etc. i kept getting an error message saying that the names of my controls where "reserved" words

I want to download a file from a financial site. When I paste the URL in a browser, the file is downloaded. However, when I use webClient.DownloadFile or even HTTPPosts...it returns an html page not the csv file.

just a newbie programmer here. With 1 week experience in VB2008. I'd like to ask for assistance on making one of these inventory systems concepts. I hear its one of the basic programs a newbie can make. This will be made for students financial monitoring. Like how much they should pay in an event. Of course will be needing to input student names and event names.
So I'd like to ask could you give me tips on what to do first?*Set aside the database stuff first.
Like the main window, or a sample of a form to which I could encode and update entry payments for students.Am not asking for codes here just samples of forms or softwares I could get some ideas.

I need to build an application (vb.net or c# or a web application) that pulls financial stocks closing price
for that day.For example:
Input: DELL, IBM, INTC
Output will be a table with the closing prices (pps) of the stocks for that day.Im not sure where to start as far as to find a source that provides that information in a format so that I can extract and place it in Excel (or plain test file). Meaning where do I get the feed?

I have an assignment where I have to use financial.pmt to take input of a loan amount, interest rate, and term and display the monthly payment, total interest paid and total payments.

Our book doesn't talk much about the financial.pmt method. Can I use it to find the interest paid and total payments, or do i have to do that part with regular math like I've done?

Our financial year starts at 1st of April of every year. Therefore the current financial year is 1st of April 2011.How do I get this date no matter what the current date is? For example, today is 2011-06-24, how do I return 2011-04-30. If today is 2012-02-05, I still need it to return 2011-04-30. However, if today is 2012-07-06, it should return 2012-04-30.So basically, the year of the financial date should not change to the current year until the first of May is reached. [code]

Any advice on using the financial.ddb function? I need to display a depreciation schedule in a label using only the financial.ddb function. I am able to show the final depreciated value at the end of the period but I don't know how to show the value for each year in the period. Do a simple thing first... open VB.NET, then open your Immediate Window. And type the following:
? -199037.52 + 198571.0
Its a simple mathematical sum which should return the answer as -466.52, but instead it shows -466.51999999998952. My project which is mainly about financial calculations has gone all screwed up because of these two numbers. All the amounts in my project are based on Double type numbers. Since this calculation is showing a strangest kind of a result, all my program code has gone haywire.

I'm deploying a VB.Net app (VS 2010 Pro) that requiers the user click a command button to open IE to a financial WEB site and download informaion from the site. The app works fine in every detail when installed on the development computer. But, on the target computer when the command button is clicked an unhandled exception occurs which says: System.IO. FileNotFoundException:File Not found.My code behind the button is Shell("C:Program Files (x86)Internet Exploreriexplore.exe www,fidelity.com",AppWinStyle.NormalFocus)
This works fine on the development computer. Do I need a way to code this as a relative path? If so,can you tell me how this is done?Throughout the app I have written relative paths to needed files using paths like (Open(Environment. GEtFolderPath (Environment. SpecialFoldder.Desktop) + "File Name). They all work fine when deployed.

But what is the cleanest way to achieve the equivalent of Visual Basic's And and Or in C#?For example, consider the following VB.NET code.The ValidateForControl method performs some validation and returns whether the state of the specified control is valid. The entire input form is valid if all controls are valid. However, each control must be individually validated even if one is invalid (which requires the operator not to short-circuit). What I am trying to do is to check if a value matches one of two numbers (and easily be able to add to the numbers to compare to). Rather than doing a longer-winded way such as: [Code] I have found that this only works when SectionID is 2 or PageID is 8. If SectionID is 3 or PageID is 12 then it doesn't work. Why is this and what can I do to try to get around the problem?

I've got a large codebase which I'd like to expose to plugin authors to allow them to use VB.Net Express to code plugins for a server app, which is not available to them. My problem is that even with obfuscation, I'd rather not distribute the complete app and/or dlls, as even with obfuscation peeling apart a .NET assembly and puzzling out code is relatively easy to do. I'm interested in this because the licensor I obtain the code from requires me to protect IP and assets and while distributing .NET apps opens up the app to disassembly, keeping the server app private and allowing users to utilize a skeleton dll to code against is a happy medium.
What I'm looking for is some way or a utility to go through my server app source code and create a codeless version of the app which only contains method and property signatures.The intent is to provide a stub .NET dll for them to add as a reference and code against as if they were directly interacting with the server, without actually providing the server code to them, compiled or not. I can of course do this by hand but there are over 90 classes and hundreds of thousands of lines of code I'd rather not spend a week hand tweaking. Also, this presents a problem whenever new methods or code are added to the project. Finally, two separate projects is an even worse scenario.Because people will post suggestions that have little or nothing to do with the question, here's a short, clear example. I want to turn this class:

This is for an intranet app that uses integrated authentication. Is there a replacement for the ASP adsysteinfo object? I can probably port most of the LDAP calls using System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry, but is there a better/easier way to do this in ASP.NET (VB.Net or C#)? how to convert the ASP object properties to DirectoryEntry properties?
