Best Visual Studio Package To Learn Language?
Aug 27, 2009I am taking a training course in Visual Basic.NET.
1) I downloaded the trial version of Visual Studio Professional and I am having troubles getting the Visual Studio trial version to recognize some of the coding.I know the coding is correct.I have heard of a Visual Studio.NET that the course recommends.Is it Available?If not is there a way to correct Visual Studio allow Recognition of this code?
2) What is the best Visual Studio package to learn the Visual Basic.NET Language?
Deployment Package Error In Visual Studio 2008?
Dec 31, 2009I installed the latest version of Toad yesterday. When I restarted Visual Studio 2008, the project that is my installation package for my application would not longer load. The message I get in the output window is "The Visual Basic Deploy Deployment Package ({CCD045E8-6236-4B3D-B820-97F7DD14C77C}) did not load because of previous errors." When I try to reload that project, I get the following error: " The operation could not be completed. No such interface supported" I tried to repair the VS installation, but that originally failed. The Deployment folder under Common7Tools was currupted so I ran check disk. A few bad files and clusters were found and corrected and the second run of check disk ran clean. I uninstalled Visual Studio and then reinstalled it, but am still getting the same error. I tried reinstalling .Net 3.5 before the reinstall of VS as well. I tried creating a new installation project, but that failed as well.

May 14, 2012I'm with a big problem here. I have a 1.0.0 application that installs an Access Database into the user's machine. I have also a 1.0.1 version that needs to be released, and it has an new database file that i want to be installed overwriting the old file. Unfortunately, if the user does any update to the old file, the 1.0.1 version does not overwrite it anymore, and i did not find in any place how to force this file to be deleted or overwrited after being updated.

The application, and the installer both work fine on my development machine.The installer works fine on other machines, but when I run my application it immediately crashes and dies without telling me anything useful. Apr 3, 2012I am trying to show my excel chart in visual basic listbox and it does not work. I have added the reference of microsoft.office.interop.excel in my code i have put the range of column "A" and i do not know how to change the range to where the chart is in the excel.

I have attached the excel file screen shot if that can help in any way...So basically When i click on the button in VB than it should show me the excel chart. My code just shows me the column "A" which shows me the "data" column only from the excel file.
Visual Studio 2010 - Enable Photo (not In Tab Group) Based On Tab Page Showing .NET?
Nov 30, 2011I want to enable a photo in the upper right section of a Windows Form, but I can't figure out the way to set a photo to visible when one of the tab pages is selected.Right now I have it set up as a visible = true when the tab page is clicked (the tab page itself not the tab button). What I want it to do is become visible when the tab button is clicked.
If this is still confusing I can expand more. Not sure what more you need.
Edit: I'm trying to do it without placing the photo within the tab page.
Switch To Another Window In Visual Studio 11?
Feb 26, 2012I am making a program with a few calculators (for now only one calculator is finished). Now, I am trying to make a frontend for the calculator(s). I want to know how to program the frontend, so that when a button is clicked, it would switch to the calculator picked. When I made the desktop version of this calculator before (in Visual Basic 2010), I used the Calculator1.Show() function, but now that function does not exist!
P.S. I am doing all this in metro. I will upload the project now.

Mar 29, 2011Within my Visual Studio 2008 VB.Net project I am opening multiple forms after setting the form (that is opening) to be an mdichild of the main form. This works in really well in most of my forms except one. I am doing the exact same thing for all of them.
Basically I declare the new form:

frm.MdiParent = Me.MdiParent
frm.openForm()

Within the openForm subroutine in the form code I have:

I know this works because if I remove frm.MdiParent = Me.MdiParent in the main form and change Me.Show() to Me.ShowDialog() in the child form then it works perfectly. Right now (for only one form) it shows the form for only a second (looks like a flicker when staring at the program) and then closes it.
