I am trying to select a value from a drop down control before it was text box. I have given the same ID for drop down which was similar to the text box.

1) How can I make the text in RTB control to change without clicking on it (RTB control) again? I notice that the event handler is mousedown so its only occurs whenever the users clicks on the controls. But I really have no idea how to do that. Anyone can guide me how to do that???

As more text arrives from an external device, the thumb initially fills the trough and as times goes on, the thumb diminishes in size. This is expected behavior.A modal dialog box allows the user to cancel the file download but since it's modal, the user can't scroll down to see what the last text that was appended.Is there a property/event/method that will show the most recent/last text in the RichTextBox control, rather than the initial text as I have it displayed now? I have a TextBox that displays a color as its background color and the background color code in its text. I have set the text color as Black.The problem is that if the user sets the color as Black then the color code will be unreadable. does anyone know how to change the text color of a disabled checkbox control?I have drawn a black background on my form interface and a checkbox has been positioned on top of this background. When the checkbox has its enabled property set to false, the text cannot be seen at all ( so I assume the disabled text color is black ).Does anyone know how to change this color? I've tried changing the chkbox.forecolor property from within the program code but it didn't change the disabled text color :/

How to programmatically change foreground color and make bold text in individual cell location on DataGridView control (Visual Basic)?
I use "dgMatrix.Rows(r).Cells(c).Value = x" to assign individual numeric values to individual cells in a DataGridView control. My question; is there a similar way to change foreground color and make bold the text in this cell, by specifying the individual row/column cell location?
For example; for cell (row 3, col 5) in the DataGridView make text in cell say red and bold or blue and bold so as to highlight and distinguish individual cell contents. As needed, I will also need to reset these properties (foreground back to automatic/black and font from bold back to regular); the reset could be done globally to the whole DataGridView as opposed to indiviaually by cell.

View 1 RepliesWorking on a DragDrop application. I have a class object (built as an object) which has a GroupBox that is enabled for DragDrop.
In the class I have set it up so that the cursor will change when it enters the groupbox, leaves the groupbox, mouse is down within the groupbox and drag/drop is working. I also set up a label in the class object and changed the text in that label as well. Basically, the text changes in the label as expected including 'FEEDBACK' appearing when I am dragging the object BUT the cursor stays stubbornly as a pointer. This is tghe state of affairs either when I debug the class or when, after I build the class, it is run as part of the main program.
Here are the subs set up in the class.

The headlines are stored in a database with a column titled 'Display' (true or false) which decides if the headlines appear. I want the user to have the ability to add or remove headlines from the main page, so have created another page which creates a table of all headlines along with a drop down list containing 'Enable' and 'disable'. I want these drop down lists to work by when the user changes the value in the drop down list the database will be updated. Only I cant find how to give the drop down lists an on change event.
How can drag and drop control in RunTime ?
View 10 RepliesI have a modal form with a single instance of the built-in .NET 2.0 tab control. The tab control has several pages, and on one of them is a combo box that isn't populated until the user activates it for the first time. When that happens, I handle the DropDown event and run a process that takes several seconds, then I add the items returned by that process to the combo box.It works fine, except right after the list portion of the combo box is dropped down, it immediately closes as if some other control took the focus. I've narrowed it down to the fact that there is a tab control on the form, and the process that retrieves items for the combo box takes more than 4 seconds. If I create a completely blank form with just the combo box, I don't see this behavior.
Needless to say, this is strange beyond belief. Any idea why the tab control would interfere with the control that currently has focus?

I'm making a form where I have two datagridviews. The first dgv is databound to a database. The second dgv is not databound. I want to allow users to drag rows from dgv1 and drop them on dgv2. At the moment I have managed to get it to the point where I can drag from dgv1 to dgv2 but the result is an empty row being added. When I try adding a row without using .Clone I get this error "Row provided already belongs to a DataGridView control."
This is a little diffrent from your standard drag and drop, but I am trying to find out a way to support drag and drop, from a list control, which is displaying a list of files, held as "blobs" in a SQL database (compressed data in my own format). When the form is opened, I obtain a list of all the file names within that given table in the database, and display it to the user in the list view control. The user then has the option of dragging that ListItem from the ListView on to the dektop (or other directory location). Upon doing so, I need to be able to read the data from SQL, decompress the data (in my own format) and then save it as a file at the dropped location.
My main problem is detecting when the ListItem is dropped outside of my application, as I want to use this dropping event to trigger the code in to obtaining a copy of that file from the database, and save it in to the "dropped" directory, where ever that may be.
So Im mainly looking in to how I can "see" the final location where the item is dropped, and how I can start off the drag and drop operation in the first place with no initial data (since I have not obtained the file at the start of the operation). Getting the file at the start of the drag and drop operation intoduces "lag" while the application makes the trip to the SQL database (via web service) and obtains the data, so I need to carry out that trip to the database, at the end, while still allowing "Windows" to act as if I am dragging and dropping a file...
I did consider multi-theading, and downloaind the file from the database while the drag and drop operation is in progress, but then it becomes a race between the data being obtained from the database, and the user dropping the file.
Im using VS2005, SQL 2005 where the file is stored as a blog. SQL is on another PC running a web service which I interact with, to allow my application to talk to the database over both a LAN and WiFi via the internet. Compression and de-compression is handed at the client side application (for the file itself, in order to reduce the footprint created by the internet traffic) , where the user interface is displayed.
Alright here's my situation: I have a form. This is a very small form that can be moved with the mouse (formborderstyle=none). The transparencyKey is 0,0,1. The form back color is 0,0,1. There is a label on the form. I drag files to this label(its backcolor is black[0,0,0]). What I want is for the filesize to be checked. I already have the uploading to ftpcode, I just want to know if the file is above my limit I set. (250mb per file)
