I created a vb program so anyone in my company can open it and see who is using what phone number offsite, and since different people go to different places each day, i linked the name and place fields to their respective database.
I'm using Visual Studio 2010 / VB / dot net 4.0, and I have a drop-down menu in my left column that switches resource languages for the end user. It reads like this:
--------English ------- <<- Engish is always the default top language option French | Spanish |
lets say I have a form (form1) with lables a-z which are all designed with default text "0". So they all show 0 on program startup. which is fine. I also have a dialog with 2 TextBoxes; I want my program to update the default text/value on (only)form1 labels x, y and z to whatever was put into the textboxes when i press the OK button on the Dialog, so these specified labels show the 'new' value on next startup. Is it even possible or should I save the values to a file which loads the values in the specified labels on startup?
This is turn populates my dropdownlist, when a user selects a value, it is then populated to the remaining textboxes on the remaining forms with a session call...
Through this session it populates the one value, is it possible to display the selected value but also include all other dropdownlist items in case they want to change thier selection?
Which removes the selected item in ddl1 from the second dropdown but if I keep changing the ddl1 item then ddl2 won't have any items left in it.
Is there a way to re-add the previously deleted items in the Update_dlls function without re-databinding because if I re-databind I lose the selected item in the ddl?
Im doing the same thing as him but in vb express 2008 what i have is a checklist box of 10 toppings, all of which can be selected, (no max or min) to put on a pizza, and i have 3 radio buttons grouped together for pizza size (S, M, L) i cant figure out how to give them vaules in which(for sake of demonstration) s=$5 m=$7 l=$9 and each topping is $0.25 then make them add up to an order total in a msg box or something like that
i have the project as below...And i am putting the code over here.Imports System.Data.SqlClient Imports System.Data 'We have to add this line, its mandatory, if u dnt add this line and start declaring the variable "Dim dt As DataTable" Then u will get the error.
Long time no see. I have been feeling out other languages like perl, python, French, Russian, and c sharp.
Anyway, I have this code.
Code: Imports System.Windows.Forms.Button Public Class ProBtn Inherits Button
[Code].....
I can drag and drop items from my desktop or wherever and apply certain properties and values to my button (ProBtn Class) but I don't know how to drag and drop between control to switch them.
I have already done the creation of button and the dragging of button at runtime already. But now i need to know how do i save the last dragged button on the form and also detect the name of the last clicked button. so lets say i now drag a button to coordinates 25,254. so when i exit the form and the next time i launch it, the button will still be at 25,254. and this one will go on for the number of button i created like 100. so when i launch the form the 100 button will be at the exact position where i last saved them.
the second part is lets say i created button1 and button2 on the form in runtime. so when i clicked the first button, it should display button1. and if i clicked on button 2, it should say button2. same goes for like 100buttons.
Public Class Form1 Dim tm As New Timer Dim Index As Integer = 0 Dim myMousedown As String
I am using Visual Basic express edition 2008.I am trying to know if a value in a single dimensional array is repeated in the array. If yes, then multiply one of them by 100. For example:
tbFrom = "one" and tbTo= "two" use drag and drop to swap the values so that tbFrom.text = "two" and tbTo.text = "one" with tbNope.text = "three" but you aren't allowed to drop in tbNope. Show the appropriate symbols for allow drop and don't allow drop. set allowdrop to true for tbFrom and tbTo. So far i have one way working.
Public class Form1 Private sub tbMouseDown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Form.MouseEventArgs) Handles tbFrom.MouseDown TbFrom.DoDragDrop(TbFrom.Text, DragDropEffects.move)
I've written a program to work out the flight distance between a set of seven cities around the world using a 2D array but was wondering how I would if possible go about having the values for each city selected via two drop down lists (say start city and destination city).
Public Class frmDistance Private Sub Flightdist_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load Dim rowcolumn(7, 7) As Integer Dim sr As IO.StreamReader = IO.File.OpenText("Distance1.Txt")
I have two list boxes. A users selects a value from each, clicks a button and the application creates a relationship between the two selected items by saving them in an array and displaying the relationship in a third list box.
What I want to allow is for users to be able to drag a value from one list box and drop it on top of another value. I have the code to capture the value of the item dragged but I don't see how to capture the item that the data is dropped onto.
Is there a way to capture the targeted selected item?
I am trying to select a value from a drop down control before it was text box. I have given the same ID for drop down which was similar to the text box.
I'm populating a custom dropdown list control on the fly that's tied to data grid using VB .NET 2008. The form will display all the manufactures when the edit button on the data grid is selected.
The dropdown I created works fine. However, when I try to populate the drop down with the respected manufacture values from the database, I only get a value of "System.Data.DataRowView" that being populated in the dropdown list as opposed to my values from the database.
Here's the basic code I use to first create and populate the drop down control:
I have AutoDragDrop enabled in my textbox. It drags the .jpg file into my program successfully. When I save it only saves the text not the .jpg file. I do realize that when I save the file I need to have the .jpg saved also and I am not sure how to accomplish this. I have checked multiple forums and googled of course. No luck as of yet.
Working on a DragDrop application. I have a class object (built as an object) which has a GroupBox that is enabled for DragDrop.
In the class I have set it up so that the cursor will change when it enters the groupbox, leaves the groupbox, mouse is down within the groupbox and drag/drop is working. I also set up a label in the class object and changed the text in that label as well. Basically, the text changes in the label as expected including 'FEEDBACK' appearing when I am dragging the object BUT the cursor stays stubbornly as a pointer. This is tghe state of affairs either when I debug the class or when, after I build the class, it is run as part of the main program.
Here are the subs set up in the class.
Private Sub GroupBoxSourceMouseDown(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles GroupBoxSource.MouseDown GroupBoxSource.DoDragDrop(GroupBoxSource.Text, DragDropEffects.Copy)
I have a website where the user requires to add and remove Headlines from the main page. The headlines are stored in a database with a column titled 'Display' (true or false) which decides if the headlines appear. I want the user to have the ability to add or remove headlines from the main page, so have created another page which creates a table of all headlines along with a drop down list containing 'Enable' and 'disable'. I want these drop down lists to work by when the user changes the value in the drop down list the database will be updated. Only I cant find how to give the drop down lists an on change event.
I am trying to create and application that has a section on the left of the form that has about 8-10 smallish images in it. The user can then drag the images one at a time from the box of images and create his own model/diagram. I am going to be doing more with the application, but I need to just start by accomplishing this.
I am using visual basic 2010 Express as asa windows forms application. How can I make it so people running my application can drag and drop or move shapes or rectangles around on a grid? Please help I have tried different ways but none are working so far.I am making a room/area designer appplication where users can drag funiture/items (shapes) around on a grid.
From a VB.NET program i want to drop a file (c:example.txt) in an external application (Firefox). I found an example that construct a "databject" linking a file name. I also found programs on the side on the application that receive the drop. But not one that send to an external application.
I'm a "Moderate" skill programmer, and am upgrading some software I've written in VB.Net (VS2008, .Net 3.5), and need to be able to accomplish the following, which I'm not sure of the best way to go about doing: The software is an information reporting dashboard for a call centre. I have a csv file being created about every 10 seconds, extracted from the telephone software, the file consists of a list of "Skills" (basically telephone line types), the number of calls received on those lines, and the number of callers who hung up (and a few other bits of information I need, but once I figure the basics out, the rest should be easy), basically looking like the following:
[code]...
I need to be able to read this csv, store the data, filter out the "Skills" to be report on (i.e. 1,2, and 5 only), add up the "Offered" and "abandoned" data associated with them and then display this information as one number (i.e. "Skills 1,2,5 - Offered: 4925, Abandoned: 13") (and then the same for the other "Skills"). This data could grow as more phone lines are added or some are taken away.I've got the code to read the data into an array working, but I've got stuck with how to filter and add up the data. I'm not even sure if I can do this with an array.
