Aug 5, 2010I've using vb.net 2003 and some of the times this error arises. Can anyone know on how this error arises and how to fix it?

DataGridView - Requested Clipboard Operation Did Not Succeed
Jan 18, 2010I have a datagridview on a form which is populated with data from our backend database. A few of my users are experiencing a problem when they select all the cells in the datagridview and try to copy and paste the contents into something such as Excel.
The error is: Requested Clipboard operation did not succeed.
Having searched for information on this error it appears that if a process has the clipboard already open (such as office) this will cause the exception being thrown (which is a system.runtime.interopservices.externalexception), usually when the code calls the clipboard.settext method (which I do not). However my form and its code does not even contain anything to do with clipboard manipulation, copy and paste or anything remotely to do with using the clipboard so I am unsure as how I can actually catch this exception and just report back to the user?

Apr 6, 2012I've written a VB.NET program for a client that stores all of its data in XML files. I use the XMLReader to read the data into a dataset. When I run the sub to encrypt the XML file, I'll get the following message: Error: mscorlib: The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open.
It doesn't happen all the time, so I know it does work. But on occassion, I'll get this message. I've been all over the forums and I've tried everything I've read to try and stop this error.
I close the reader object and set it equal to Nothing. I've even tried using DoEvents to make sure the object finished closing before running the Encrypt sub. Nothing has helped.
I develop on a x32 PC. It works fine on the development machine. But then, when the client runs it on a x64 PC, he gets these errors. Could the x64 system really be running so fast that the .Close() and the = Nothing and evern the .DoEvents() can't keep up?

If I failed to copy clipboard I would wait 10 seconds and try again. Then it keeps failing.
However, if I try to debug the program or do any human stuff it gets fixed by it self. But I don't want human intervention.

Mar 15, 2012I created a SQL DB named MainDB.mdf and a small VB 2010 application with some forms and datasets.Everything was working OK until i got a new computer and re-installed Visual Studio 2010 and SQL server 2010 on it. I copied my DB from the old to the new computer and also copied by VB 2010 project to it. I used Windows Authentication to connect to the DB in the old computer and also in the new one, i am using different Windows user account names though.
I was able to connect to the DB in the new computer in the Server Explorer section, i created a new connection string to the DB and i can seed there is data in the tables. When i run my VB 2010 application created in the old computer get error:
"Cannot open database "MainDB" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'D630Admin'."
I need to get rid of that error and be able to add/mod/del data from my DB using my VB application as i used to.

Basically on my development machine (XP Pro) the fax sending works correctly via our SBS 2003 server which has the fax services installed. Now I want to upload the ASP webpage to our Windows 2003 Standard server under IIS. When I try to send faxes using this server (via the SBS2003) server I get the exception "Operation Failed".I've installed/uninstalled the Fax Service on our Windows 2003 Standard server but still the same error message.

All I want to do is, when a user has the entire row selected and copied, I would paste that row into the clipboard as a DataObject. Delphi combines the two substrings, while .Net just concatenate them like a copy.

Jul 28, 2009I created a typed dataset a day or so ago, then I added a whole bunch of tableadapter/tables with some relationships etc... suddenly out of nowhere it decides my dataset "is not defined". everywhere in my code where i use this dataset now has an error. I tried not to pull out my hair and do a Clean then Rebuild solution... out of nowhere it just refuses to generate code. Object reference not set to an instance of an Object. It would be nice if it was my object so i could find it but it's not.
Curiously I also lost the little database icon on the dataset in the solution explorer.I can still open it in the designer and preview my queries etc... it just wont make the code. it's driving me insane. anyone got a solution?

The application also connects to a website of mine. I have obfuscated the codes so that people can not simply de-compile it to see my information. However I, or anyone, can simple use Wireshark or Fiddler to see information like...
How can I encrypt that so i can at least feel a bit safer... the attacker can also use replay attack on my website until they get into a user's account...

I wrote a program to go to each of these links in succession (via For loops, obviously) and to grab a piece of information from them.Now to the problem. When I get to about 2300 or so, I get the error "COMException was unhandled by user code. The requested resource is in use. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700AA)" at the line "WebBrowser1.navigate(linkstocheck(i))"
I set linkstocheck = all lines of the text file. I get the same error even when I get the link directly from the lines of the text file. Does anyone know how I might go around this? Maybe catch the exception, wait half a second, then continue where it got the error?
