DataGridView - Requested Clipboard Operation Did Not Succeed

Jan 18, 2010

I have a datagridview on a form which is populated with data from our backend database. A few of my users are experiencing a problem when they select all the cells in the datagridview and try to copy and paste the contents into something such as Excel.

The error is: Requested Clipboard operation did not succeed.

Having searched for information on this error it appears that if a process has the clipboard already open (such as office) this will cause the exception being thrown (which is a system.runtime.interopservices.externalexception), usually when the code calls the clipboard.settext method (which I do not). However my form and its code does not even contain anything to do with clipboard manipulation, copy and paste or anything remotely to do with using the clipboard so I am unsure as how I can actually catch this exception and just report back to the user?

C# - Retrieve A DataGridView From The Clipboard (It Ends Up Being Null In Clipboard)?

Jul 21, 2010

I am unable to read a pasted datagridviewrow object from the clipboard. All I want to do is, when a user has the entire row selected and copied, I would paste that row into the clipboard as a DataObject. That works just fine but when I attempt to read that DataObject (after the user clicks Paste) the DataGridViewRow that's saved in the clipboard always has a value of Nothing. Here's the code I'm using for Copy and Paste.

Error: Mscorlib: The Requested Operation Cannot Be Performed On A File With A User-mapped Section Open

Apr 6, 2012

I've written a VB.NET program for a client that stores all of its data in XML files. I use the XMLReader to read the data into a dataset. When I run the sub to encrypt the XML file, I'll get the following message: Error: mscorlib: The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open.

It doesn't happen all the time, so I know it does work. But on occassion, I'll get this message. I've been all over the forums and I've tried everything I've read to try and stop this error.

I close the reader object and set it equal to Nothing. I've even tried using DoEvents to make sure the object finished closing before running the Encrypt sub. Nothing has helped.

I develop on a x32 PC. It works fine on the development machine. But then, when the client runs it on a x64 PC, he gets these errors. Could the x64 system really be running so fast that the .Close() and the = Nothing and evern the .DoEvents() can't keep up?

VS 2008 Access To DataGridView For Logic Operation?

Nov 22, 2009

I have created a DB connection, loaded my data grid and am looking to perform accumulation on the salaries that are shown. However it won't give me access to my grid view or the table for the Row.

This is the code that I have. The loop and the accumulator is at the bottom.

If rdoFullTime.Checked = True Then
'Dim con As OleDbConnection = New OleDbConnection("Provider=Microsoft.jet.oledb.4.0;data3

[Code]....

I tried to dim the Row as myDA.Row and myDataSet.Row and it won't allow me to and I can't figure out why. I know this deals with database but the problem is the logic not the database.

VS 2010 Publishing Multiple Projects - Get The Error : Application Validation Did Not Succeed. Unable To Continue?

Jul 28, 2010

I have a solution with two projects. The main project connects to the second project via a reference, and the reference path is local to my machine. It looks like it references the .exe file.So when I publish the main project (ClickOnce), i get the following error:
Application validation did not succeed. Unable to continue. In the log file, under Error Details, it says

System.Deployment.Application.InvalidDeploymentException (RefDefValidation)
- Reference in the manifest does not match the identity of the download assembly Project2.exe
- Source: System.Deployment

How can I include this second project? Should I publish it, then reference the published files? What do i reference? The .application file?Is there a way to just include this second project, so when I do publish the main project, the second one just goes along with it?

Delphi combines the two substrings, while .Net just concatenate them like a copy.

Cannot Start Application Error - Application Validation Did Not Succeed

Oct 21, 2006

I am installing an app I built in VB, and am getting the error "Application validation did not succeed. Unable to continue." I have successfully built and installed this app previously. What I think caused the issue is I attached the .mdf file I have referenced in my application to my SQL Server. I then detached the database in SQL Server, opened my VB app and re-built the app. When I tried to install the app, I received the error. Attached are the details of the error message.

VS 2010 The Requested Resource Is In Use?

Oct 18, 2010

I have a text file that has thousands upon thousands of URL's in it. I wrote a program to go to each of these links in succession (via For loops, obviously) and to grab a piece of information from them. Now to the problem. When I get to about 2300 or so, I get the error "COMException was unhandled by user code. The requested resource is in use. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700AA)" at the line "WebBrowser1.navigate(linkstocheck(i))"

I set linkstocheck = all lines of the text file. I get the same error even when I get the link directly from the lines of the text file. Does anyone know how I might go around this? Maybe catch the exception, wait half a second, then continue where it got the error?

Currently I am using whether the user is authenticated to control if the menu bar is visible or not.Basically, I want to always hide the menu bar when on the login page. The menu is rendered prior to the page itself so I need to be able to read the redirect request to see if the login page is the destination.
