I just installed framework and visual basic, trying to edit the application that I been working on and one of the main forms is giving me this error. One Property, of the Type System.Windows.Forms.Keys, can contain the Value 'Ctrl+F1' witch compiles fine in VB2008, but not in VB2010. To reproduce, simply add the following to any resx file:

It will compile fine with VB2008, but not with VB2010. Notice: The VB2010 also generates this Code in the resx file
I have a solution built of 3 projects:
1. VB.NET Class Library - data access and objects, reusable methods, etc.
2. ASP.NET Web app - web application that references the class library
3. VB.NET Windows Form app - windows app that references the class library
I have no problems with the web app. It referenes the class library and every time the project is built the web app gets a freshly compiled dll from the class library.
My problem is with the windows form app. When I first add the reference to the class library project, I get all of the intellisense I'd expect while coding. When I try to compile, though, it's like the reference disappears and all my code that is based on the class library errors out with "'xxx' is not declared" or "'xxx' is not defined" where 'xxx' is a method or class within the class library. If I go into the project properties, the reference is still there, but the project no longer compiles and I also lose intellisense for all classes within the class library. If I remove and re-add the reference, it works again, until I try to compile. Then the errors occur again.
I've tried creating a separate Windows Forms project and just referencing the DLL created by the class library but get the same problem. HOWEVER, if I create a seperate blank WEB project and reference the dll (or the project), everything compiles fine. It seems to be something with my class library being referenced by a windows forms app.
For reference purposes, my class library has the following references:system, system.cor, system.data, system.data.datasetextensions, system.drawing, system.web, system.xml, system.xml.linq I noticed I can't add a reference to System.Web in my windows forms app, and I wonder if my problem is somewhere in this area. I need the reference is my class library because it passes some HttpContext objects back and forth to a few of the methods.
I am just trying to run an application on another machine than I created it and I get this error - COMException (0x80040154). I think it needs more files, but I copied the source, where could I find the other files necessary for it? [Code]
View 5 RepliesI imported an app from vb6 to vb.net It works fine. It has one axmsflexgrid control. Now I want to add another axmsflexgrid control in the same app. I tried to copy and paste from one frame (groupbox) to another and got this error:
"An error occurred while processing this command: Exception from HRESULT:0x800A018A (CTL_E_GETNOTSUPPORTED)"
An inputs on how would I fix this? Or just make a new axmsflexgrid?

I have a project that works fine with one click.. but when I use the setup project it doesnt like to reg my msxml6.dll keeps saying "...msxml6.dll failed to register HRESULT -2147023782.."whats up with that.. do I need to so something special in my package ?its in the list of detected dependencies.. or does that list just tell me whats detected and its up to me to actually add them into the setup package ?

This happens on two systems; Windows XP SP2 or SP3 - .net framework 1.1 & 2.0 & all necessary patches etc installed. Just can't seem to get around it. What is more frustrating is I have a test rig that has exactly the same software attributes & it works fine on that.I have even tried full clean O/S install with no other applicationms installed & get the same eratta as above.

I did a search for "How do I implement Serial COM Port communications? and found a response by Xiaoyun Li which was last posted on April 10, 2009. Xiaoyun's response included sample code. My intent has been to get a clean compile on the sample code, then test it, then expand the code into a real application. I'm scanning using WIA. What is happening is there is a temp file created under "C:Documents and SettingsuserLocal SettingsTemp". For some reason, the WIA service is deleting the temp file before I can transfer the image. The exact error is: "The system cannot find the file specified. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070002)". Is this a bug in WIA? The error occurs on the last line...
