Oct 6, 2010I am struggling with a simple datatable issue. The following takes a data table that is on the form and adds an arraylist to it as the data source. The data that shows up in the datatable is the length of the value of the element in the arrayList.

How do I control what is displayed in the columns? What I am ultimately trying to do is have a datatable that the operator can edit and the changes reflect in the underlying data structure.

Jan 24, 2012I'm pulling data from my DB, adding it to a DataTable and binding that DataTable to my DataGridView. Before I bind the data, I need to change/remove some data. When I loop through the rows and use a Select Case, just for this column, it doesn't work. But if I use an If, it works fine. [Code] In the example above, the "Pass_Flag" row works just fine, but the "FailureCD" does not. But after the Select, with the If statement, it works. In the example, I'm casting the row as a string first and then an integer. I tried casting to an integer in the select case and it doesn't work either.

Mar 25, 2009I am new to VB.net and I am trying to work out an exercise from a book I am reading on VB. Basically I am storing some book information in a hashtable using a class called Book to store the book information. I am trying to work out my Search and Display All procedures. My Search will work for the first value in my arraylist but not for any other values. I even added the ISBN to my book class to try and use this as a search point. The ISBN is used to pull the item from the hashtable as well.
In the main code I am having problems with the ButtonSearch and ButtonAll.

Jun 5, 2011I am trying to populate an ArrayList using the elements from a DataTable. I know I could do this using Loop, but I am trying to figure out how to using AddRange.Here's my code:SomeArrayList.AddRange(SomeDataTable.Rows.Item(0).ItemArray)
The problem is that I can pass the collection except for the Zeroth element.

Feb 23, 2010I am using a SQL query to fill a datatable from 2 associated tables. The first table has Products and the second has associated addonpackages. When I loop through my Products I am able to get all of the addonpackages for the first product but after that the datatable is only getting populated with the last addonpackage for each product. ie:
product 1 - all 6 packages are added tp the datatable
product 2 - only package 6 is added to the datatable
product 3 - only package 6 is added to the datatable
...and so on
My query follows. Why I am getting all of the info for the first product but just the last item for all others. No matter which product I would query first, I get all of the associated data with it but only the last for all others.
