The VB.Net 2005 datetimepicker control allows the user to use the arrow keys as follows:up arrow increases the value (day or month or year)down arrow decreases the value (day or month or year) left arrow goes to the previous section (day or month or year) of the controlright arrow goes to the next section (day or month or year) of the control My users do not like using the arrows and want to enter enter the date (e.g. 9/8/2009) as follows when the field has focus:9 (press tab) 8 (press tab) 2009 (press tab) (goes to next control) They do not like 9 (press right arrow) 8 (press right arrow) 2009 (press tab) (goes to next control) Is it possible to use the tab key in lieu of the left/right arrows? If the user is in the last section of the datetimepicker field (e.g. in the yyyy section of a mm/dd/yyyy control), how will the tab set focus to the next control?
I need this for displaying in my crystal report here's my
cmd.CommandText = "Select * from pos where date= '" & datetimepicker1.text"'"
and nothing displays on my crystal report, I need the right query for that...the field value is DATE...I need the conversion for the 1/11/2001 format from date time picker to 2001-1-11 in DATE field
I have a date time picker bould to a Nullable Datetime field in a sql server datatable. The ShowCheckBox option is set to true. If the user unchecks the checkbox on the datetimepicker I would like to the field to be set back to null in the DataTable. The default behaveour does not seem to do this and there is no specific event for the uncheck.
Private Sub dtpCertDate_ValueChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles dtpCertDate.ValueChanged If dtpCertDate.Focused Then
let me explain in more detail so you don't get the wrong idea of what I'm trying to accomplish. If I have a button object, say Button1, on my form and I select it with my mouse, it brings up another form or dialog. If in the text field property of Button1 I enter &Button1, the B will have an underscore under it and if I hold down the Alt key and press b, it too will invoke the other form or dialog. I would like to also have the capability to do that with a datepicker field or textbox field.
Right now, I can set up several buttons with Alt-keystroke combos that work by default, but it seems like I have to write some form of keystroke intercept routine and test for the conditions I'm looking for and force the focus to the datepicker or textbox. Am I missing something? Is there a better way to do this? Or is there actually a way of setting up a label on a textbox or datepicker object.
Kind of like when you're using MS Access and building a report, the fields have a leader that you can type a label in. That's what I'm looking to do. So if the label part of the datepicker field says Date: if I press and hold the Alt key and press d, it will invoke the datepicker field (aka open the calendar for selection).
I need this for displaying in my crystal report here's my code:
Code: cmd.CommandText = "Select * from pos where date= '" & datetimepicker1.text"'" and nothing displays on my crystal report, I need the right query for that...the field value is DATE...I need the conversion for the 1/11/2001 format from date time picker to 2001-1-11 in DATE field
How can I get this to happen? I googled around and it seems setting the CUSTOM FORMAT to " " when the field is null will work but not for a BOUND datetimepicker.
I have two datetimepicker-"OpeningDate" and "ClosingingDate"I need to add a condition such that before entering data in the database it is checked that the "ClosingDate" is always greater than the "OpeningDate"If not then an msgbox will be displayed "Enter the correct data"
I support a desktop application containing datetimepicker components.A child form loads within an MDIcontainer, updating components from data retrieved from a SQL table, allowing users to make modifications. A text component hides the current form and displays another form. When the user returns from the other form, one of the datetimepicker component is unchecked and the date is set to the current date. Tracing through this application, I do not hit any code that resets this component.Other datetimepickers located in my current form are not affected.I'm providing the routine used to display another form, and the routine used to return to the current form.

I have a column ("tblSupply.Date1") in my table populated with dates. If I have value in this column there is no problem, dateTimePicker1 goes to this date. If I have this field empty, I get an error: "Object cannot be cast from DBNull to other types" when I try to open form where dateTimePicker1 is.
the DateTimePicker in my form appears like this:Attachment 72262 I want to give it an appearence like this.Attachment 72263 i.e,only the date will be displayed in the format of DD/MM/YR
I Want To Insert Date Into Sql 2005 But Without Using Datetimepicker In Vb Net 2005 forms every time i do it by using textbox got an erro converting iwant to use textbox like we use it in access with input mask is that avilable
OK, before I throw my laptop out the window... I need to insert data into my Access Database from my VB.Net2005 application. I have written and re-written this code, trying everything I can find from the web and I've had no luck. I'm getting a {"Data type mismatch in criteria expression."} error on the ExecuteNonQuery line - I'm fairly certain that it's the DateTimePickers, as I rem them out and the code works fine. However, I've tried everything - changed the column in my database to Text, changed the .Value to .Text, .Value.ToLongDateString, and every time I'm getting the same error. One of the things I read on line was that I need to use parameters in order to pass the DateTime - I need to pass the Date and Time (date format is not important, but I require the hh:mm:ss format for the time). The fields currently default to the current date/time which is perfect, but I read that depending on how you pass the data, you may run into problems if the user does not pick the drop box (leaving it as the default).
problem 1: By default the textbox property of textbox is empty and if we want to show something so we change the text property of text box. right. Similarly is it possible for datetimepicker? i mean that date is always appear in datetimepicker both at run time and at design time, but i want that when my form is loaded so datetimepicker appears clear just like textbox is empty, and when i select some date then that date is display.
I have two datetime pickers that when changed call a function that validates the two dates and changes them as needed. This currently causes a loop where the function changes the dates on the datetime pickers that triggers the function again...
So I would like to disable the datetime pickers valuechagned function while the function runs then re-enable it after it makes the required changes.
Private Sub dtpStartDate_ValueChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles dtpStartDate.ValueChanged subValidateDate()
I've got a DateTimePicker control on my form. The normal behavior is for it to allow the user to "move" between value fields with the arrow keys and remember the last date part that was highlighted when the control loses focus. Then, when the control gets focus again, that date part is highlighted. We all know this, I'm sure. What I want to know is how to access the control's selection properties/methods in order to have my DateTimePicker control always highlight the month portion when a user enters the control, regardless of what the last date part highlighted was.
how to do when user point the cursor into the textbox the datetimepicker will display or open...here in my situation i have textbox
Private Sub DtpProjStartDate_ValueChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles DtpProjStartDate.ValueChanged Me.txtmydate.Text = Format("MMMM,DD,YYYY", Me.DtpProjStartDate.Value.ToShortDateString) End Sub
that code works fine but this going to select first the datetimepicker date and after selected the value to pass to the textbox.now i want to do when user select the textbox or point the cursor into the textbox the datetimepicker will display at this time user must select the date and done...
I am a student who is working on a project for a company on mass emailing system. How do i add a Bcc attribute in my program? I do not planned on applying pre-defined email address inside for example, mailMessage.Bcc.add("[URL]"). Instead, i have designed a windows application with a richtextbox for the user to enter the recipients' email addresses.
My program reads a 3rd party data text file and I give the user the ability to add a row. The problem I am having is one users text file contains an extra tab at the end of each datarow thereby creating an extra column when i view it in DataGridView it gets labled "NoName"
Moving foward I get the following error upon trying to isnert a new datarow. The INSERT INTO statement contains the following unknown field name: 'NoName'. Make sure you have typed the name correctly, and try the operation again.
Im trying to make a email client, iv got it all working but im looking to validate the email address field to make sure that its actually an email address so it has a @ sign. Also one other thing is, when the client authenticates with gmail id like to catch the error if its not authenticating properly. Is there a way to do this?
I have a field on my form for Check Number if a bill was paid by check, if not it should be blank. When I run the query in Access it returns the right records.the query loads all current customers, 99 out of a possible 107, when I navigate through the records as soon as I hit one where a Check was used, the Check Number field stays filled in for all records displayed after.
vb.net If Not dsForm.Tables(0).Rows(dbCursor).Item(1) Is DBNull.Value Then Me.txtRentalID.Text = CStr(dsForm.Tables(0).Rows(dbCursor).Item(1)) Me.intRentalID = CInt(Me.txtRentalID.Text.Trim.ToString)
am a beginner in vb.net 2005 i have to generate a crystal report in vb.net from a textfield that the user enter and the following report should be generated depending on that query..
I developed a VB form which has a bunch of text fields. I've an external excel spreadsheet. I want a particular cell from the excel file like "A5" & the value to be auto populated in the text field of the VB form. Is this feasible?
i'm not 100% sure about sql server but i think it doesn't accept null value for date type columns but in oracle, a date column can accept a null value. and since i'm using oracle, this is causing some problems because in my form, a textbox item bound to a date column will not accept a null value. reading thru some threads, it would seem that it is not possible to pass a null value to a date type in .Net.
I am linking to an SQL table with 'Money' field. When i try to update this field in VB.NET I get an error message that "Can not convert a character value to money. The char value has incorrect syntax".
I am using crystal reports in visual studio 2005 to generate invoices. I want to sort different categories of products. I'm using group by on category field. How can i set a specified order in crystal reports for categories.I have for example 3 categories namely 'Recipe', 'Plain Spices', and 'Horeca'....The crystal reports shows them in ascending or descending order but i want Recipe data at top, then Plain Spices and Horeca in the end...!!How can I achieve this in my crystal report that has already been made?
Lets say I have a form with several Textboxes that are all bound to "bindingsource1". I'd like to be able to check the field data type each textbox is bound to. Something like this,
Dim ctl As Control For Each ctl In frm.Controls If ctl.GetType.IsAssignableFrom(GetType(TextBox)) Then
If I have this to read from an access database, how could I translate it to read from an oracle database with the same table/field information? I know nothing about oracle but I assume I cannot use the oledbdataadapter that I am used to when connecting with an oracle DB.
