2010 And XML Files - Change The Label To Another Control
Aug 26, 2011
I am busy doing a little project for myself, but seem to have hit a stumble block, and i have been on the net for days, but cant find something that works, so hopefully someone here might be able to assist me. I have a windows form, a xml document and a label on the form, i want the <description> node of the following xml document to populate that label, if needs be, i can change the label to another control.
I have a User Control with a label on it. I have a Master Page that I have dropped the User Control on. I have other .aspx pages that use the master page that has the user control on it.
What is the best way to change the text of that label on the user control from the .aspx page?
I have problem in Form controls. I inherit label control in a class Mylabel i use this label on my form not standard label control. now i want change the Font all Mylabel in my form then it not change Font when i use standard label control it's work.
I want to change the font size of a label during rntime in visual basic 2010 .net I have tried to change the size property of the font but it says its a read only property :
I'm trying to implement Bandwidth Total calculation into my little desktop monitoring program using 2 *.txt files. Everything else is working great except for the writing/reading part of it. I had put this together originally without the intention of bandwidth monitoring, but I've decided it would be a good thing to have.I want to have 2 monitoring types: Windows Session Bandwidth Total & All-Time Bandwidth Total (since the program was 1st run on the machine). The counter is on a Timer (2nd of 2), and I want it to write and add the label values each second into the file, then when Form3 is opened, to read the text file and show the results.
I'm looking to put a few labels on a form but the text that they will display will not be static. Instead they should be dynamic as the values used will be either the value of a specific Environment variable or from a value stored in an array. These values will change depending on which user runs the application. How do I achieve this?
basically i need to change the text of a label where the name of the label comes from the value of a variable. So, for example,
Dim x as String = "lblTarget" Dim y as String = "Target Text"
In this case the text of "lblTarget" would need to be come "Target Text". Basically, the label that is named the value of variable x would need to take on the text of variable y.
I have been using vb6 for a while, I am following a tutorial by MS to develop a basic application and a simple task cannot be completed for whatever reasons! The tutorial asks to drag the label object from the toolbox and drop in the tab control container. Then, go to the label size property and adjust the size to some different dimansion. Basic stuff, right? It won't let me do it! After I enter the new dimensions (which by the way are not large or very small), the label size (both width and height) resets back to its original dimensions! I have the vb.net sp1 installed.
In a program I am making I have a custom user interface. I have dozens of different panels each containing various controls. When the form opens, a text file which contains the positions of each of these panels (and whether or not they are on the form) is loaded and the panels are placed appropriately
I'm having a treeview loaded with all the files and subfolders of a path. Each node is getting the filepath as tag. Once I have dragged a node (file/folder) I need to move the file(s)/(sub)folder to the new directory. Each file(s)/(sub)folder needs to get a new tag
I want to program a water supply pipeline network in a treeview control. It has five node (junctions). The parent-child relation is based on a parameter (say pressure). Initially, the node 1 is parent and its child nodes are 2 and 3. The node 3 has child nodes 4 and 5. At run time the pressure changes. Now, node 3 is parent and its child nodes are 1, 4 and 5. The node 1 has child node 2.
I am upgrading user control from vb6 to vb.net.In the vb6 application I am loading 3000 labels using a label control array. In vb.net I am doing same but it's taking too much time to load.In vb6 it's taking 1-2 seconds, but in vb.net it's taking 30-40 seconds for same work. Why does it take too much time in vb.net for same work?Code is given below, here Led is the label control array.
For l = 1 To 3000 Led.Load(ledCounter) ColLed.Add(Led(ledCounter))
I'm trying to make a label control transparent over a Panel control. However by setting the background colour of the label to Transparent, it actually sees right through to the form itself, not the panel as intended.
As an example we use a panel with a background as white, we make the label transparent, however it gets the forms colour as blue. However, we are using a custom panel control and need the label to be transparent over the panel and not see the forms background.

I have written a public sub to update a label on a different form by passing in an integer. If I pass in the -1 value it will update the label, but if I pass in any other value, it will run the code (verified by stepping line by line) but the label won't update, even when adding the doevents.
Public Sub mstidlbl(ByVal cnt As Integer) SyncLock Form_PG_Collect_Master_ID_Label If cnt = -1 Then Form_PG_Collect_Master_ID_Label.Label1.Text = "ID: Paused..." Else
I have a label on my form and I want it to be a certain size, never changing, regardless of content. In the label properties, I've tried setting auto-size to false, setting the minimum and maximum size to the size I want, and setting lock to true. When I update the label's content via my code, it still changes the size of the label.
